Haha are you asking because of the name? I was laughing earlier that Sylvaria went serpent just like Silvaria, yes
I was originally serpent so many years ago, I think my old character was org enemied to almost everything ha ha ha. just decided to start afresh and try runie but it really never clicked. I'll try my hand at theft maybe this time though, I'm not as young and scared to steal from people now! I've been watching the Os government do it for a few years now I think I've got it figured out.

Thanks, my napkin math had it useful but that could have been the random damage from mhuns in moghedu, and a really terrible sample size at that :). I asked a few questions in game but I did get told to watch the insanity a bit so I tended to err on caution for in game stuff, I found out a lot there but some things I wanted to safely ask out here (weaving got me a few different answers though).

Also Kiet are you happy now?! Now I just need to perma steal some wings...
From my limited understanding weaving only helps with pvp. I dont think I've dodged an npc attack in 200 ic years or so
  • Weaving does nothing more than add theoretical +dex for dodging purposes from what was explained a while ago. If you can't dodge it without weaving, you can't with it either (unless you crossed some weird threshhold maybe? But in general)

I thought because avoidance also gives cutting/blunt resistance than weaving would boos that part as well. I couldn't find concrete proof so just did some terrible, terrible testing. I'd say my testing would be the same as jenny Mcarthy's anti vacc testing.
  • Avoidance gives cutting/blunt resistance as a separate part of the skill from the dodging. That's a part of the skill itself, not about dodging as a mechanic.
  • It may have changed in the last few years, but there were/are certain denizen attacks you can dodge.

They're very few and far between though.

  • According to Tecton, certain old denizens used ordinary weapons attacks that worked the same as weapon attacks by players, and so they could be dodged. He wasn't sure if any of those denizens still existed though, and I've never seen one.

I'll also confirm that weaving doesn't give any damage reduction and is useless for bashing (unless you find one of those dodgeable denizens). It is very misleading though that the AB file mentions the avoidance skill when it's really just an ordinary dodging bonus.

Ownership of a shop in Delos can only be transferred by the Garden, right?

  • You're transferring a Delos shop and it isn't to me. Et tu, Ruth.

  • You are the reason I don't have a dislike button anymore because I would be clicking it SO HARD.

  • Not sure if this is the right place, but here goes.

As a new player, which curing system would you guys suggest? SVOF? Wundersys? The in built system in HELP CURING SYSTEM?

My goals are to hunt. A lot. Learn the game. Fight a bit. Learn more. Fight a lot more.

I use Mudlet by the way.

All three are viable, but the ingame curing system alone isn't enough yet. Wundersys is meant to augment it, you can write your own priority switches/telling it affs, or use SVO's  serverside.

Or disable serverside and use SVO itself.

Svof is pretty decent. Recently switched to using svof with serverside curing and it works great. I haven't tried wundersys, not even sure if it's still updated. I'd probably recommend svof with serverside because svof can help you better manage things and has some other add-ons you might find useful. I am by no means a combatant at all, but it has been great for hunting.
What doesn't kill you gives you exp.

  • Tynil updates Wundersys now. Both are solid options, svof is probably more customisable (directly via aliases, at least, wsys is if you can code)

  • Thank you both.

I think I'll go give SVOF a shot. Here's hoping I can get it to mesh with the server side system well.

You can, it's pretty much just "tn ss" or whatever the command is, and it switches over to serverside curing. By and large it works fine (in my experience).
    - (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place."
    - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely."
    - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")."
    - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish."
    - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."

  • I recommend SVOF and definitely get into the OOC clan. People are supporting each other really helpful there. I combat and hunt a lot.
  • one more question: Did @Kiet have some sort of thing for Silvaria? I'm only asking because I have seemed to have made a friend :P.

:o Every serpent from back then knew Silvaria! Platonically
  • If you are strictly using curing for hunting, you can use serverside without any system at all.

Any PvP, and you need some more in-depth curing knowledge/scripts to do well.

Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.

At the very least, you want a trigger for recklessness (or at least know to watch and diagnose or alias telling the system you have it).

That's the only major problem with the ingame and hunting.

  • If you want to use tree against blackout while hunting, it sounds like you'll still need to handle it clientside (I haven't played around with it myself since the latest changes, just heard that there are still problems).

I actually never bother, as those that blackout tend to do it repeatedly, so I didn't think about it. But yes. I don't believe it's handled properly yet.

  • What would be better for hunting, going from 18-19 dex or 11-13 strength? (14 with jera) from a serpent perspective
  • Strength doesn't make any difference at all for serpent hunting. Going from 18 to 19 dex will make a big difference.

So is garrote a set damage base? Garroting more is the dps upgrade?

works out well since 19 dex should put me either at lvl 1 dirk or mac forged for pvp i think.

Garotte speed and damage are both based on dex, it increases both.
