I totally get like one river so everyone can be like oh shit don't fuck with that river that's a dangerous ass river look how detailed our world is but I don't wear shoes for RP reasons which is like whatever mount's got fording but I'll get halfway somewhere and have to either raido Cyrene or just wait till the river carries me to the end because I can't whistle for the damn thing, the current is faster than fluidswimming. Yeah that's me being stupid but that's a large ass penalty for a small mistake and even larger for a newbie who isn't just stupid and absentminded
I feel like it should be more, since you can't guide and play at the same time, and it's a huge time investment, and basically working as a free employee for IRE.
I'd personally enjoy doing it, but can't really justify the time (which I believe, includes minimum requirements per week) spent the way it is now.
Fairly sure you can, since you have to log in to your actual character to use the guide. (This is how it looks, anyway, since I've a friend who's a guide, and is always logged in while guiding), could be wrong though. Also not a huge time investment either, so I'm not sure where you got that idea from. Few hours per week is all that's required.
Well, not entirely true. You can't play as your character while you're assuming the guide persona. And you're also not the only guide, so you have to wait around for your turn to guide or you lose your place in the queue, which means you may have to spend quite a while just being logged in to wait.
I can't afford that kind of time now, which is why I unfortunately would probably not sign up to be a guide in the near future. However, for people who love helping other people and have a lot of time and would like to earn some side (IRE) income, why not?

If you steal a Blademaster's sword, I know they can go to Murad and have it resummoned for some amount of gold.
What happens if you steal the sword, then put a band on it to make it returning (assuming they didn't band it first)? Would they still be able to resummon it?
Not that I'm actually considering doing this or anything...
I'm pretty sure she beat me in a spar using that damn thing. I didn't need to know you were on your phone! Talk about demoralizing, heh.
Also, I think I remember being able to write in journals in different languages, but does anyone know if this can also be done for letters?

Awesome, thank you! Time to send out propaganda letters to all the heathens in Mhaldorian.
How do you SAY a sentence that you want to begin with the word "to" (e.g., SAY To a long and happy marriage!), without getting the "The one to whom you are directing your speech is not here." message?
It seems to work fine unless "to" is followed by the name of an adventurer. So "say To a long and happy marriage!" works, but not "say To Krypton and his wife!". Denizen/item names work fine, unless the denizen/item is actually present and you don't want to say to them.
I can't find a solution other than rephrasing the say.

Yes, I gave a bad example. I actually discovered it when I tried "SAY TO [a number]." That doesn't work, either.
Is there a way or service of copying books? Or is manual the only way?
It seems that Mydoin in the library in New Thera can copy them, but only if they're sealed (to prevent editing) and not locked. I could be wrong, or there could be another way to copy unsealed books.
What's the optimal weapons/stance arrangement for blademaster bashing dps?
Mir and a forged weapon (since the damage/speed penalty from Mir only applies to TwoArts attacks, so you get the tankiness of Mir with no penalty). I'm not sure what weapon is best, but rapiers are definitely good, and flails can be good. Mizik used a dagger, so presumably those work well too.
If you don't have trans weaponry or just want to stick with class skills (which will probably be the best choice again once the weapon changes go through), then Sanya is a good balanced stance (second highest DPS, no downsides), Arash is good when you want to kill easy denizens quickly (the extra damage taken in Arash hurts a lot if you're bashing anything tough), Mir if you have some reason to need to tank really well at the cost of your offence.
Disappointing that BM class dps for denizens is still bad enough to make using forged weapons not only viable, but a superior option.
The same is true for monks, sentinels, and druids. And conditionally true for jesters (without artefact blackjacks), priests (without artefact maces), alchemists/apostates/occultists (if they take nimble for PvP), shamans (if the curse effects in spiritlore don't apply to bashing or you just don't use them, and if you don't have high int), even dragons if you get a really good rapier (like a soulpiercer, or 82/231).
It's not that the classes are weak, weaponry is just overpowered. With the exception of weapon-using classes (knights/bard/serpent, and jesters/priests with their artefact weapons), bashing DPS is about the same for every class.
