  • @Lyrin I felt bad...

    https://ada-young.appspot.com/pastebin/w8OqfsQ2

I only did the first attack in hopes you wouldn't see the followup doom

  • I now have a highlight for that.

Am also tempted to create a "SILVER MEDAL" echo on the arena loss message.

Because it was boosted. All he had to do was leave the room and it would have backlashed killing me. Also killed Proficy while I was asleep.
  • Boosted Doom cannot be stopped by anything short of leaving the room (which means the user dies instead), yeah.

Makes it very nasty if you don't notice it in a spammy group fight. Or if you do Distort for room hinder, freeze ground for more hinder, and then boost Doom. Which @Zulah has also been doing.
    - (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place."
    - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely."
    - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")."
    - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish."
    - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."

  • Room hinders don't stack anymore iirc

  • From Announce 4675:

The abilities that do not stack any longer
due to this change are as follows.

    - Aeonics Distortion
    - Devotion Piety
    - Groves Wildgrowth
    - Necromancy Gravehands
    - Occultism Tentacles
    - Physiology Torso
    - Pranks Peels
    - Subterfuge Pinshot
    - Tekura Bear Stance

    ....

    - The torn tendons affliction (from the knight Two Hander specialisation) will still stack, as these
are not frontloaded like the other forms of room hindering abilities and have an overall lower
    affectiveness.

No other abilities such as iced ground mentioned.

Distort, piety, wildgrowth, gravehands, tentacles, torso, peels, pinshot, and bear stance all don't. Frozen ground still does.

  • Oh Dunn... why don't you know these things  :/

Can also force them to do something if you have the ability to do so; boosted doom being interrupted by them performing an action during the channel will also kill them.
  • If they've spent into domination or whatever, they can ignore one forced command.  So, don't put your money on getting them out of it with a snap, etc.

Frozen ground technically doesn't usually add anything if you just spam (spam queue so you don't keep spamming while off bal when distortion procs), but it probably trips a lot of people up anyway.

But if all exits are blocked/walled and you have to spam leap, it does hurt you a lot then (since the leap balance knocks happen).

I was pretty happy with how my whole group actually dived in every time we just suddenly rushed though. Go team Targ.

So why did we give Sentinel passive ent+active ent usage? It didn't use to procc like this, right? That's what the recent classlead approval was?

3 ent proccs in 1 herb balance just seems way out of acceptable range.

That log has 2 passive ticks from his ents as well as 2 enrages, which is basically the Sentinel class balance, although the second enrage didn't do anything since you still had dizziness. The recent change effectively added in 1 affliction, because previously the butterfly would not have been summoned as aggressive and would not have given stupidity.
  • As if Sentinel needed even more aff pressure
  • Supposed I'm confused why it was approved at all.

Sentinel can aff+Petrify on same balance, so effectively Petrify requirement is 3 afflictions, which is pretty damn trivial.

You can get it with just five* easy steps.

    1) quit Targossas
    2) agree
    3) tell Sarathai Can I join Eleusis and go Sentinel to kill all the non-Nature factions?
    4) Sarathai has asked if you want to become a citizen of Eleusis.
    5) agree

    * Sub-steps may apply.

  • Petrify needs 4 affs and unblind, so the combo makes it effectively 4 affs, not 3
  • Forgot blindness, though they strip that pretty simply right away. Haven't tried forgoing actual affs to keep blindness up but that's asking to get locked I feel like.

Stripping blindness is one of the ents, so plz do not prio blindness. They can strip blind/petrify.

Calira was just pointing out they need 4 "affs" to petrify, since unblind is like an aff, which is true. However! They stick one or two affs each combo, so double ent passive procs for two free affs can lead to pretty absurd results (petrifying after two combos minus tree touch, making it three), I think.

I might be wrong due to ent management though. Not 100% sure which you need for which affs.

  • Each time I fight a Sentinel the fight is over in about 10 seconds because I can't tell what is going on with the extremely lengthy affliction lines and how many different animals they summon.

And also because of the huge affliction output they have and hallucinations that can royally screw you over with stun.

  • Removing entbal combined with handaxes would go a long way, kinda like virtually every other class got. Doublestrike+ent still really powerful.

Arguably, Sentinels have had handaxes since the dawn of time, but that was before they got all their new OP toys + proper ent management. Petrify still entirely viable without handaxes, and it'd just mean handaxes are more valuable for prep/breaks.
  • It's a pretty hindering route too. Confusion to punish shielding, traps to keep you from moving, hallucinations stunning and epilepsy throwing you off balance - all getting stuck in about 4 attacks. It's kind of crazy.
