  • Axekick damage nerf will help you at least not die to the damage from it, so you at least will get into the actual scythe portion. This will actually put you at being able to cure in time, versus dying to the damage.

With that said, I found that I had more success tumbling after the first axekick than immediately tumbling on the first leg break.

I feel like that entire sequence is majorly different if Axekick does a normal Tekura combo damage, instead of being a better BBT.

Hrm...double leg break plus jpk plus mind force apply seems like the best possible situation for a monk.

Stop mind force stop the apply and force direction too...

I see Troven killing people all the time with damage.  Can someone post some upper tier Sylvan combat?

I know some combinations that do massive damage,  but they're easily countered.  I'd like to see how these sylvans are dealing with it.
    Anyone got Sylvan logs?

  • Here's a partial log of me (Pally) v Jhui (Monk):

(Yes, he pwnt me Monk v Priest too, for the record)

Telepathy force being workable with combos is super goofy :/

ETA: Best part of that log: (Party): You say, "My leg is broken! Aura please."
  • Does kaido deaf take limb balance or give instant deafness? I could probs battlecry.

Where's Tesha when you need her? :(

@Exelethril It doesn't use any kind of balance, but it takes 6 seconds to come up.

  • Applying mass on the ground while also having the impending hoof kick of death doesn't help the limb curing, a second is a second.
  • I had tree balance tho but yeah, should have saved that for possible mind scythe.

  • [System]: Running queued eqbal command: SOFF

Is your command short for 'sod off'? :O

    (If so, +1 gold star)
  • Hmm, how does one survive against tumble cancels with axekicks? - https://ada-young.appspot.com/pastebin/7c1dc844c

Also, force apply restoration torso on double leg break beyond looping mending on salve balance.
If you don't cure the stupidity it gives you (you'd have to be setup to double command through it, of course), then that's a 50% chance of the tumble getting blocked.

Unless I'm remembering balances wrong, though, you should have been able to stand, were it not for the mass apply.

Also, maybe I'm just a combat noob, but what had you stunned?

  • Not curing stupidity would work if it weren't for mind scythe. I wouldn't have been able to stand(check the timestamps on the tree). I'd still have to apply mending once with tree tattoo and no mass apply.

Stun was from hitting his guarding which actually kinda saved me in a way, since it stopped the pre-torso apply command.

    So yush, same deal -
I wanted to try head prio to counter mind scythe by tumbling into runes but didn't account for the tumble cancelling.

Only counters I can think of are -
    1. running each time I get jabbed with prefarar via Thoth's to prevent mind command apply torso on leg breaks when I'm prepped but that kills all my aff momentum
    2. tracking his kaido deaf properly and time battlecries properly
Besides those things, pretty much deaderino.

  • Axk shouldn't be a better bbt that -might- get absorbed by SoA. That seems silly. I haven't seen a single monk exploring the triple bbt instakill either, which is disappointing.
  • I'm not a combat expert, but you are not jabbed with Thoth's. Monk has a punch to remove deafness, which Jhui uses last in his combos, right before the command.

Currently, I really wouldn't bother ever curing head over legs. You never stand and AXK will pwn you. Your best chance is to cure legs and run like fk before scythe.

Once classleads are finished, curing head should be more of an option because AXK shouldn't be able to just damage you out.

Why arent you mounted?  Would help avoid a double leg break proned.

  • Running for 45 secs each time my mount gets kai banished isn't really fun to play against for both sides, when that change gets implemented. I could probs work more on my parry defense too.

@Keneanung : He does use Thoth's to jab for the faster undeaf balance.

  • I don't see anywhere in the logs where he is actually wielding it and then attacking you, he unwielded every time.

I'm also like 99% sure he cannot use combo with anything wielded and if he sent attacks alone it would only be kick/punch/and nothing in the wielded.
  • You can unwield before combo. They also have a punch that undeafs. He may use T fang randomly for undeaf, but pretty sure it's mostly the punch.

He didn't use it in those logs and can't combo with it. He does use it sometimes though. It's just a lone undeaf dirk jab, which allows a follow-up combo of prone/double break/force apply instead of having to prone/single break/undeaf punch/force apply.
  • Best bet is to just pre-apply to legs whenever you know you're prepped.

He can undeaf during the combo, and mind command, so waiting until you're undeaf won't work.

Also, I really recommend tumbling after the first axkick, not the initial breaks. This forces him to stop your tumble instead of forcing a tree/eat.

If they don't damage your head ahead of time, they'd have to axekick again to actually threaten scythe. If they do damage head of time and jump you to a concussion, then you force them to try and get a command past your relapsing amnesia.

Can't stop tumble with triple bbt route sadly so I'd have to only fight on non area boundaries, no mono adjacent and no ground runes in order to beat tumblers. It's a lot less versatile than scythe so I don't use it.

  • Or someone without room hinder. You got legs, boy.

  • @Nakari : Hmm, I actually don't know...

    @Atalkez : If I pre-apply resto on legs -> kai cripple (can't apply mending/can't stand) -> axekick/hfp(break right leg)/hfp(break left leg) -> axekick = pwnd

  • @Exelethril

Sure, if you only pre-apply and do nothing else. You can also pre-emptive tumble when you pre-apply.
