There's nothing to fix. You can refill vials from the rift even with two broken arms, so you can't even force REFILL RIFT WITH MENDING, hit with double epteth. If people don't have triggers to handle it then that's on them, not really any different to being forced to put your pipes and/or vials in a container.
But yeah, I was hoping to actually get to set it up and use it in an actual fight before people started blabbing about it on the forums.
@Melodie - hope the next time you shout, calling me a coward to the entire world, you back your words up and accept the duel when I offer it to you. Especially when it's a shout *right after* you jump me 2v1. @Aepas is another one who refuses to duel me, straight up sitting in Mhaldor ignoring every attempt I make for 3rl days now.
The worst part is I'm not even remotely combat competent. I never expect to win, and honestly, I just try and hope to die so that it gives me an opportunity to ask questions and learn. I never try to be nasty to people, especially novices, but I'm going to start returning all of the favours. Going to jump me 8v1 after I raid? Swell, I deserve it. Start expecting the same back. The only difference is I'll show up by myself. ------------------------------
On to actual questions:
1) If you notice in the beginning - Why would Ainly have torso trauma? He never hit my rebounding/torso. Are afflictions supposed to transfer like that from the outer-world to inside of the Arena?
2) Just a short bit down, when Justice is dealt back onto Ainly from right leg doublewhirl. Why did that hit me for 40.4% damage? Does Justice just act like equal & shared damage? Is that damage common for lvl1 flails?
3) What are these things? -A bolt of lightning explodes from the weapon as it makes contact, accompanied by a clap of thunder. -The right side of your body loses all feeling as the weapon of Ainly discharges energy into you. (he was able to do this on the 1st doublewhirl)
Ainly is a God. The runes upon the weapon of Ainly flash as they discharge energy into Himself.
-------------------------- Haven't had a chance to make smite/chasten/disrupt into a single alias. I haven't forgot about that, though. I forgot to put down cleansing, even though that probably wouldn't have helped much. I need to make highlights for my limbs people are hitting, do more manual parrying.
What else could I have done better? Thanks in advance for constructive criticism.
You could have not expected everyone to want to drop what they're doing to duel you just because they called you out on killing a noob. Dude's 23 and 20% your might.
One of the fastest ways to become 'that person' in Achaea PK is to expect everyone to duel you, and I speak out of directly observing a ton of people become quickly disliked because of that.
I don't know why you're assuming that I expect anyone to drop what they are doing to duel me. I asked, got rejected, and moved on to Ainly. After duel was over, I asked her when she expected to be done with her duties. She didn't bother answering. You'll notice that I said I hope she backs up her smack talking next time.
Jhui is a pretty decent guy. Don't really understand the personal jab at him. I've rp'd with him on an alt, so that point doesn't make too much sense. Thanks for the responses. Hopefully someone can critique something other than my frustration of the situation? Posting from phone though. Sorry if anyone has!
Has nothing to do with Jhui being a decent guy or not, but that's a pretty fun way to try to spin it. It has everything to do with the fact that some people aren't going to bend to your will of how you want interactions to go down.
I don't see why her calling out Melodie is such a big deal... if it was kept in character. This is an OOC forum, and you're tagging the player behind Melodie as if you have some kind of feud with her outside of the game. Yeah Melodie's character is a wuss, so call her character, and not the player, a wuss.
Haven't had time to look at the log yet but will give some advice later maybe
Great point of view. Didn't stop to think of the forums being ooc when initially posting. I'll rp it out later or drop it entirely. I'm learning as I go.
OOC forums are not really the best way to call out IC actions, no. If you want an IC explanation of why Mel did as she did, you're free to try and approach her in a different way.
I also never read this thread, was only directed here after a few people on clans mentioned it.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby

1. Could just be left over from another fight. Limb damage wears off, but the afflictions themselves don't. Yes, afflictions you have outside of the arena will still be there when you enter the arena (though most are cleared if/when you die).
2. You still take full damage, as far as I recall, it's just also reflected back to the attacker too.
3. The bolt of lightning is the Hugalaz runeblade, if I recall correctly. Chance to proc on each hit, will deal extra damage. The "right side of your body" line is one of the expends, which have various effects depending on the body part targetted. Think that particular line is right arm (without checking the log to see which limb was hit), which would block parrying if I recall correctly.
This might be a long post. Keep in mind I'm pretty out of practise so correct me if I'm wrong anywhere and we'll eventually get to a state where I can give you some coherent advice
First of all, never just smite. You open up with diagnose;smite and nothing else. How come? If I remember correctly you can combine Spiritwrack with other abilities, I can't remember exactly which ones now but try out some things like smite;spiritwrack which will probably work. If not, then go with chasten/disrupt, which you mentioned you're lacking but the combo is pretty important. You can also skip smite if you're going an aff route, it doesn't help you that much. One thing you can do is abandon smite initially and focus on sticking afflictions and then when you have a few disrupts stuck (and thus will be draining more mana), start smiting. This will create both health and mana pressure more efficiently.
Don't diagnose them on every single ability if you don't have artefacts, but even if you do it's not optimal. It costs a significant amount of mana/willpower if you do it often.
You aren't using targeting with smite. Do you not have it? It costs something like 90 lessons in weaponry, get it! Let's say it takes 5 hits to break his limb, you can hit both arms 4 times and then whenever he sketches a rune or you need a breather and get below like 3k health then you can break an arm to keep them hindered. Each arm break will slow him down for ~4 seconds.
The reason you took more damage when justice hit him isn't because of justice, it's because his runeblade empowerment activated. "With a series of hisses, small acidic hailstones pour down from above, battering your body." that message there.
You've given yourself the earth spirit shield right? Just making sure.
"Hailstones the size of your fist pour from above, battering your body." this is the hugalaz rune and causes periodic damage when you're standing in that room until the rune disappears. Something like 4 ticks over 10 seconds? Definitely don't quote me on that, I've forgotten the exact number. This is a good point to break their arm if you have it prepared to break, or you can leave the room or whatever. Just letting you know.
If I were you, my offence vs Runewarden would consist of chastening body/disrupting earth and smiting arms for arm breaks, so you can hinder their momentum while building up yours.
I'm not sure how viable peace is anymore, but it's pretty good at draining mana from runewardens too when you get afflictions/spirit disrupt stuck.
Dazzle/disrupt is strong vs EQ classes, but it works vs everyone if you hit them with spirit disrupt after earth is already stuck. Causes a quick burst of afflictions that you can transition into chasten body/disrupt or jab asthma/disrupt into hellsight. Just some ideas.
Don't get into the mindset that Priest is a damage class. It isn't unless you have like 2k+ credits in mace/bow.
Try and use your offence as your defence instead of playing defensively when you aren't in a dangerous position.
Also defensive tip. Looks like he can't use afflictions well (if it all), so keep an eye on what limbs of yours he's hitting. Go through the log and count how many times he has to hit you before they break. When you're close, start "pre-applying". Make an alias that applies restoration to your legs and then just manually do that in between his attacks when you're close to breaking. Gives you a head start in curing broken limbs. Ask me if you need elaboration on this.
And wait, am I reading this right... At the end he broke your left leg, and then mangled it in the next attack? what? I don't really understand what happened at the end as I don't know enough about Dual Blunt.
Peace was removed from Devotion so it's not at all viable. Was replaced with Visions, which gives hallucinations.
Spiritwrack is an activated angel passive, not an active ability. Not sure what ability you were thinking of, since you did then mention Chasten later on.
Pretty sure you can smite/chasten/disrupt all in one go, assuming you have the necessary balances (balance + equilibrium + healing), so foregoing smite at the beginning doesn't necessarily gain you anything. I think without artefacts chasten equilibrium is the limiting factor, rather than smite balance, but not sure on that.
I don't think jab/disrupt is possible any more either.
Regarding the end of the log, dual blunt just has pretty crazy limb damage, especially with flails. I think there's a limb damage bonus from attacking an already broken limb of a prone opponent (I know there's definitely a regular damage bonus), which probably helps. Likely needs to be toned down a bit, though.
You can definitely smite/chasten/disrupt yeah, but when I played Priest, Smite was considerably slower than Chasten. With an artefact mace, I'm sure that wouldn't be the case, but would definitely need to see modern numbers to be able to accurately comment on that.
Spirit wrack is a passive ability yeah, but it requires activation as you said and I'm sure that you can activate it in a combo instead of standalone as she did in the log. That's what I was commenting on.
Didn't know about Peace, thanks
Shame about jab disrupt, but at least you can give asthma with chasten body as an alternative @Lavakhi
@MelodieI was wrong, and I do apologize. Not going to bother you ig unless you initiate. I think you deserve at least that.
@Antonius@Jovolo - Wow! Can't even believe the thoroughness in your guy's responses. It means a lot to me, after the drama, I didn't expect to receive any help. I think the majority of my time tomorrow will be going over each key point and testing/working in everything I've been introduced to from here. Most likely coming back, re-reading and re-working. Perhaps, eventually, I can pay it forward to novice Priests. Thank you.
I just prop totems really. No sense in asking me to fight. When I do fight, it's for fun. Not to avenge my ego. When I do fight, it's never against priests, alchemists, or occies because that's just not fun to me.
you may keep asking however, and I will continue giving the same answer.
@Jovolo Jab/disrupt hasn't been doable for a very long time, including when you were priest. It was jab/chasten that you're probably thinking which I think is still doable, but not 100% sure.
Smite/spiritwrack/disrupt is how you open to get spiritwrack up.
Unartied smite is slower than chasten, but you -can- do smite every other combo without losing speed. Smite/chasten/disrupt, chasten/disrupt on eq and class bal regains, smite/chasten/disrupt again on next eq. That being said, smite is completely unnecessary. You can do pure chasten/disrupt for simplicity if you want. I did on my priest.
Edit: The above is if quick-witted, which you really should be for pk. Nimble is for bashing only.
This is me just being my normal self, a total scrub. Probably not even deffed up, as can be seen by lack of even wielding a mace. Zuko, Sryn, Kafziel and Roroan took one for the team. And by team, I mean me. Thanks for doing all the hard work. Sorry guys.
I did learn about Inquisition through this, and the deathsight is awesome. Didn't realize Inquisition even did health damage before this. Just another derp that I've learned from.

Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
But yeah, I was hoping to actually get to set it up and use it in an actual fight before people started blabbing about it on the forums.

From her log, her smite is faster than chasten. I don't know if she's nimble or quick-witted.

Also I didn't even think of that. I was quick-witted as a Priest, so that may explain the disparity in smite vs chasten balance.

With lv2? I think might need lv3 and diadem, it lines up almost perfectly at ~2.2-ish seconds.
