  • Not sure why removing/wearing things off balance/eq is a thing, nevermind while prone.
  • Hindsight is always 20/20 but especially when one can force you should always force them to apply mass. If you dont think they have mass, make an alias to give mass and force apply before kill combo. S'how I killed a few Jesters as a Jester and with Bard myself.

    But honestly, I think Jester needs some overdue classleads concerning balloons and their sheer escape utility
  • I did that. Shackle removes the mass defense when removed.
  • It shouldn't. If it does, it's a bug. The shackle is its own toggleable mass, but it's independent of the actual mass defence which you can apply.

  • Agreed. I figured that was the counterplay but maybe they always removed shackle before I forced mass. Sorry for the misinfo
  • There's been a lot of confusion as to whether force apply mass is counter-play to balloons for a lonnnnng time. I somewhat wonder if that's why the only nerf it got was tentacle popping balloon.

    But yeah, it's never actually been something that works, since removing the shackle still removes the mass.

  • No, since it still defeats the offensive designs we spend all this fucking time balancing. IE prep classes into finishers. Since going up on balloons doesn't freeze salves the solution becomes -> don't fight it.

    Solution: only one balloon can be inflated at a time. Handsoff Balloons should require having balance and EQ too.

    I assume it requires both balance and EQ to inflate a balloon, if not, make it.

    Mind explaining? Looks to me like triggering on lunge requires a 58ms round trip, which is certainly doable. Does it have something to do with the Saeva line right before the prompt? (which I think is devour but I can't remember)

    If everyone had the same connection as one another at all time, it would be doable, but the world just doesn't work like that (yet). Need to account for:
     1) Tirac's lunge happening,
     2) Saeva's mudlet seeing the lunge line, (Doubtful for 1/2 to occur at -exactly- the same time, unless they were on the same connection. Fairly certain Saeva doesn't live with Tirac.)
     3) Saeva's mudlet sending the bite command,
     4) Server receiving bite command,
     5) Anedhel seeing the bite.

    There's no way that's all going to get processed in 58ms, unless as Cooper said, they're living inside of the server. 158ms would be plausible, but not 58. (unlikely, but more plausible certainly)

    Still seems just as plausible as not, depending on Saeva's ping, of course. Would require a 39ms ping which is about what I'm pulling right now.

    Edit: Actually, my ping-tested latency (~40ms) is considerably faster than my Mudlet-reported latency (70ms). Surely Achaea isn't taking 30ms to process my commands?

  • The likelihood of a trigger being able to respond and send a response that goes through in 58ms is much less likely than Saeva having just hit her bite attack as Tirac lunged. Very few people that have played Achaea have had a consistent ping of <30 to Achaea, and less have a computer that wouldn't delay it enough to impact it by a few ms.

    39ms ping, which includes 3 hops and doubling (because ping measures round trip time, not one-way). Server, computer, and Mudlet processing time should be negligible compared to travel time (though as I said above, Mudlet's reported latencies are significantly larger than ping-reported latencies. Not sure what's causing that discrepancy. Achaea would be unplayable if the single-threaded server took the 30ms discrepancy I'm seeing to processes a single input.)
