  • Breaking into House estates is so weird. There have been times where I literally just go 'I want to get in now' and have broken in through some miraculous timing. I've never done the whole 'lying in wait for hours' thing, but a lot of the Dreadborn try it for reqs.

The worst cases are the ones where they do everything right, then find the Patron has blocked non-members from even entering. It is immensely disheartening, I imagine, though we pass them anyway.

What I'm trying to say is you can lie about admin bias and we'll let you rank up if you agree to serve Lord Sartan.
  • I don't get it.
    I -am- the Cataclysm Switchblade.

I find it hilarious that Mhaldor, having some of the strictest security measures in the game for the Estates (save the Occultists) is also subject to the highest amount of forced entries, and none of them in my two(?) years playing have even been because of serpents. I do not believe I've forgotten any, save that lame attempt by possibly Shar to sign letters with my name and ask newbies to enter the Spire. Like, why would I even do that.
There have been several, you just weren't logging in much then, and 2) there are hardly any Naga around, much less any who actually need to go in there (milking, nothing else).

Also, evade before pentagram takes you in is nice.

I think the sentinel house has the best house security procedure.

Looks like you might have been better off going for another bbt instead of the axk combo. Probably could've gotten a third off before he finished the tumble, and then a jpk combo to follow? I'm hardly an expert on monk combat though. How does torso damage BBT compare to AXK damage-wise?
  • Went with the axk because the last bbt shouldn't have been there. He should have been standing. It was a free bbt.

Yeah, but it looked like with a bbt instead of the axk you'd have gotten a third without him messing up. Maybe only because of his tumble, though.
  • Eh, can't really be mad that a bm (probably in mir) didn't die off of a single double break. Mir bm is one of the tankiest things on game. You should probably have enfeeble/bbt/bbt'd. Doing bbt axk bbt is less affective in general because the long balance on the axk allows for them to get moss/sip bal back faster before your next damage burst, meaning they'll cure up more in the delay.
  • I know the axekick was misplaced. The plan was to bbt then axekick combo, two punches, then choke spam. When I realized he wasn't standing, I took the free bbt. I've only got 12 STR but still, that's a ton of damage to take. I know the axekick spreads it out, but still, i don't understand how tanking that could be possible. I killed him, in a later spar, but I had to put a level 2 torso break on him, enfeeble, bbt bbt, and even then, he should have stood before the second bbt. Unless my count's wrong, he should have stood a full second before I regained balance.

Most of my frustration stems from the fact that quad breaks are so unviable. The target has almost three seconds to decide that its a bad idea to stand in a room with a monk off salve balance, and just walk and plaugh.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think that I should get easy, double leg break kills, but if he messes his curing up and I get a free bbt, I expect it to kill him.

  • Yeah, enfeeble bbt bbt on a double leg break is only possible if you have a diadem. Level 2 Torso damage is also not really worth it, doesn't add that much to the bbt compared to level 1 and just increases the risk that the target will diagnose and notice it.

BM's in Mir have always been tanky enough to take a double bbt if the monk doesn't stack strength past 16 I think. A little annoying and I don't really know what the trade off is since they still seem fast enough.
  • I'd not worry too much about it, honestly. Mir damage mitigation is arguably too high and a bm using it becomes fairly obnoxious when it comes to damaging them out (as in, not doable if they have a clue/you don't get lucky). Bad thing to base yourself off of. (Also would consider getting a higher str spec, 12 really is scraping the low margin for viability).

Pretty damn sure you call pull it off nimble in drs. Pretty damn sure.

  • I have a talisman and nimble and it shouldn't have been possible. 3.1s balance for the double break, 1.8 for the enfeeble, 3.7 for the bbt. If you touch tree on the first resto cure going through, you should be prone for 8 seconds. That chain comes up to 8.6 seconds

  • What ability do you have available to you that basically everyone ever will touch tree on? That leaves them 1s behind and you being able to break, bbt/enfeeble/bbt, or enfeeble/bbt/bbt!

Thank you for defending my honor, sweets.

  • Haha, that was actually a bug I didn't fix until recently. Didn't register the stand line in blackout so looped stand like crazy.
  • You strain to hold a tall totem pole in an upright position for your enemies to see.

Tirac, riding an ashen peryton, arrives from the up.
Tirac's eyes uncloud as a wunjo rune heals his blindness.
Tirac's limbs lock up as his eyes meet an inguz rune on a totem.
Tirac's attention is grabbed and held by a nairat rune.
Tirac's eyes close suddenly as he falls asleep.

You cease to prop up a tall totem pole.
You cease to wield a runic totem.

You begin to wield a gleaming scimitar in your left hand.

A thick conflagration of fire and smoke bursts from Tirac's primal ember, protecting him from your
    attack.

A small cry escapes the lips of the sleeping Tirac.

You raise your scimitar over your head and begin to swing it in a wide circle, gaining speed as you
    go.

You begin to bear down on Tirac, preparing to destroy him.

A surge of elation rushes through you as you realise that Tirac's fate is sealed. With a roar of
triumph, you whip your scimitar at Tirac's neck, slicing his head from his shoulders in a veritable
    fountain of dark red blood.
    You have slain Tirac.

You should post the part where you failed for ten minutes to 2v1 the guy while I was randomly running my mouth like a moron and biting him. For shame.

*And then I got vivi'd in dform because I was laughing too hard. For shame, Dunn.

God, I'm going to save that 1v2 log and all the trash talking for a cozy winter night

edit: Also, since you stole my huge ember after the totem/behead:

Manifest has been consumed by the fires of a primal ember.

I'm counting that as my kill.

It's pretty cold out tonight. Why wait, bby? I'll bring the eggnog.

I am hilariously impressed by how chill you were about me being retarded. +1

  • You boys getting together and didn't invite me? :'(
