So limb/limb with weapons faster than 1.5 seconds is the super secret strategy you told me you wanted to abuse @Cooper? boring :(

    Same theory, yep.

  • Just to toss this in, as always, monks are immune to this setup.  Assuming you live long enough to even get the prep ready in the first place.

More like we were confused as to why other Infernals weren't abusing it, so we had to see for ourselves if it was possible. We thought maybe we were crazy, maybe it wouldn't work for some reason we didn't know about. When we confirmed that it was possible, Wessux put up a classlead to try and reign it in, which was rejected. Call me ignorant or impatient, but to me, that either means either this is considered balanced, and using it isn't "abuse", or that people don't know about it, in which case Wessux is trying to let folks know. It's not like he's pulling a Manu, here.

That's not the only way to cure though.
If you're restoring off of every epseth/epteth to avoid a possible Vivisect, you don't get to have an offense. I think there comes a point where a setup is simply "too good" even if it is technically avoidable. Infernal already has the luxury of a guaranteed disembowel if you avoid their Vivisect, I don't think they need this, as well.
-- Grounded in but one perspective, what we perceive is an exaggeration of the truth.
  • He was probably talking about class curing, but that shouldn't be a condition to balance the vivi mechanics around, just means a couple of classes can avoid it
  • I wasn't primarily thinking of class skills. I'm on my phone and about to debark from a train though so I'll have to postpone a detailed response for later.
  • Wouldn't treeing one of the breaks that comes after the restore stop it?
[2:41:24 AM] Kenway: I bet you smell like evergreen trees and you could wrestle boreal mammals but they'd rather just cuddle you
  • It would only adjust the speed threshold, requiring faster (but attainable) apiers to pull it off
  • You can't tree with both arms broken. Treeing directly after the restore does nothing and the next dsl makes all 4 limbs broken. Could also set up the other arm and break it on the third dsl if for some weird reason it's required.

Don't forget the part where you are a knight kelp/ginseng stacking which will more than likely eat the tree.

Edit: Assuming they tree the first dsl.

Why would Infernal have a guaranteed disembowel if you avoid Vivisect? Did I miss a change to Impale so you couldn't start writhing off equilibrium?

You can writhe, but with two damaged legs, you won't get off in time.

  • Restore means no tumble, so you can arm/leg/leg

Sorry, misread that. Treeing after restore is pointless because restore cures all cripples already and both arms are damaged by the time it matters due to esp/ept after restore.

    How? @Ernam
Prone kai cripple (sometimes even doable twice vs knights, who generate tons of kai),
Prone mind batter (stun gives you enough time to use mending)
Kai immunity would actually stop this, if you saw it coming.
Assuing the knight's legs are prepped, double blackout would force a diagnose/shield.
    Blackout/tumble
    Mind Travel away
    Telepathy illusions for shield/rebounding/various others.
    Mind Command, if applicable.
    Pinch Block (first DSL)
    Evade Block (first DSL)
Probably more, but I've only been a monk for 10 days.
  • @Wessux : What are the restrictions to Frenzy, btw? Can you use it to prep too then use it again with breaks? Best part is, don't even need to get around a static parry.

  • You have a point, but most of what you listed will never work. The only viable one is cripple. If a monk batters eat/focus/tree spam is safe off balance. And the rest of what you said is just stupid.

  • The first three are reasonable
  • starburst defense will save you from it.

Anything that stops Dsl stops frenzy.
The moment it goes down you can put it back up.
You can choose how long you keep it you.
The longer you put it up for the more essence it uses. (10s uses about 4% essence for reference.)

Using immunity against deathaura + falcon + 1.4s dsls that are probably doing 800+ damage with breaks that are going to prevent you from shielding, moving fast or using cripple/heal is not going to get you very far. Dsl dsl dsl dsl lunge in 4.2 seconds is probably enough to kill most monks.

Still don't understand how worldburn hasn't been nerfed, even a tiny bit yet.

3100 damage? Really? Only affliction was Voidfist
  • Doing my best, guy.

    JERKS
    Pretty epic
  • Sometimes, just sometimes, things just go right.

With an unearthly howl, a chaos hound leaps upon Carmell and savages her viciously.
Carmell has been slain by Jhui.
Bloodthirsty screams echo from one end of the city to the other as Jhui declares a sanctioned raid.
A starburst tattoo flares and bathes Carmell in red light.
Some irid moss falls from Carmell's person.
A group of 2 lumps of red clay falls from Carmell's person.
A pile of gold flakes falls from Carmell's person.

You have recovered balance on all limbs. (1.655s)

You prick Carmell twice in rapid succession with your dirk.  [Delphinium + Delphinium]
Carmell's eyes close suddenly as she falls asleep.

You have recovered balance on all limbs. (1.733s)

You prick Carmell twice in rapid succession with your dirk.  [Curare + Kalmia]
Horror overcomes Carmell's face as her body stiffens into paralysis.

    Dunn AEONED Carmell
    Dunn AEONED Carmell

You have recovered balance on all limbs. (1.756s)

You prick Carmell twice in rapid succession with your dirk.  [Slike + Gecko]
