    I like El-uh-wine better.
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.

    Oh, dear. This again?

Since most of the newbs with whom I have interacted since my return won't want to dig through eleven pages of this thread to find it, my character's first name is pronounced, "ah-moo-NET", and her surname is pronounced, "vee-ah-TREE". Enforcing this pronunciation is a losing battle.
"Amunet" pas prononcé comme en français? Dommage, sonne bien!

    As for me:

You could also use that and I pronounce her name like that sometimes, too, because I am very indecisive, though I don't use El-uh-wine.

OHV-fohn, or OHV-finn. Aodhfionn was originally supposed to be the name, but, you know. Kind of missed the 'h'.'

Tbh I still read it as "Ode Phone," so w/e.
Wow after all these years of Odd-Fee-On
  • Watchman.
  • Yea but is it a heavy wh on the watch or is it more of a direct straight forward wa on the watch?

So is your name pronounced: Whatchmhan or Waatchmaan?

    Yes. Also Whatchmin.

Pronouncing Watchman is all well and good, but who watches the Watchman?

If the RP logs are any indication, @Taraus does as he does his sexy little man-dance.

  • ...Never going to look at your name the same way now, @Ainly.

And for the thirtieth time, it's "Gnat-LIe-yAh"!
    Not "Nat-tili-ah"
    Not "Nah-tit-yeah"
    Not "Nat-lee-ya"
    Not "Gnat-lick-ya"
    Not "Gnat-tit-lie"
    It's "Gnat-LIe-yAh"

You all know who you are.
ALL of you know -exactly-... who... you... are.
    -.-
    I don't like long goodbyes.
  • "Gam" like..Ham
"den" as in din in dinner?

    "Gamdin"

  • With my mouth.
  • So... Some of you didn't get the pronunciation correct.
    Allow me to reiterate using what it sounds like when pronounced on a record that is playing backwards;
    /'trʌbəl/

    Questions?
    I don't like long goodbyes.
  • Ay-See
  • Ming rhymes with ring and mei sounds like the month of May.
  • Buh-Sil-E-Ous
  • Echo echo echo ;)
  • I originally tried to double capital letter my name when creating my character but Achaea said "NO!" so apparently there's been some confusion ever since as I am frequently asked this.

For anyone who is interested it's [mind - shell] as in skull, not [minds - hell] as in deranged.

WarMaster is the only one whose name I am aware of went through like that.
