    I think there still should be a housing upgrade or a shop of wonders item that would protect various paintings from being taken off the wall. Most paintings can not be displayed securely without a flame sigil, and well those decay.

    Most paintings should be able to be placed and only the person who placed them can take them - most of the ones I have, anyway.

    I have yet to drop a painting that lets me pick it back up, even if I've non-decayed it.

    You have to own the location you drop it in order to pick it up.

    That said the recent paintings of the All are dumb, frustrating and a mess >:(
