Question: Is it just my orgs who are useless are posting what is going on or is it a rampant problem? I keep running into people who are annoyed at explaining it for the 20th time and I am getting that way myself, but I am usually dormant for the big events so I don't know if it is normal or not.
It does get hard to keep track of everything, but on our end at least, we're managing all right for the most part. It just takes people actually caring to record stuff.
Shout out to @Zackery for doing way too much of that lately. You the real MVP, man.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
@Trey They block flyers too. I'm not saying they knock flyers down (which they do), I'm saying that if the elemental is on the ground, and you try to fly past, it blocks you. Someone upstairs is truly evil.
I don't think the Dreadpilar is killable 1v1. I got it down to about 70% health, and then it adjusted something and I died pretty quick after that. Two people should be able to do it with coordination though.

We killed two, it can be done!

Your words quietly thrum through the air as you say, "Quest." Taverner Poraaq says, "Not able to string a full sentence together, smalling? One sniff of the barmaid's apron, eh?"

Making me work hard for this.
Nothing new here.
You greet Tunai, a spear-wielding hunter with a sincere smile.
Tunai, a spear-wielding hunter says, "Greetings stranger. What brings you to Harae?"
say work
You say in a monotonous voice, "Work."
Tunai, a spear-wielding hunter says, "Brains and brawn aren't mutually exclusive. You can use more than one word in a sentence with me."
Tunai looks you over critically.

So is there more to this, or is the whole world inside the flame the whole release? I don't mean this as a stab at IRE or anything, I didn't even read what they had said about the event. I was just told through some players that this was supposed to be a big, game changing development. Like the biggest release in IRE history sort of thing. Was I misinformed and got over hyped?

@Elsam you asked this the other day too, and got several responses.
It is already the biggest single release ever on Achaea. Admin said in the Discord chat yesterday that it was not done yet, either.
Please don't be so negative while asking the same question and ignoring responses.
So is there more to come with this whole thing? I had heard this was the biggest the release in IRE history or something, and it really isn't all THAT cool, at least so far.

To answer your question, they promised there would be a part 3. Even if they hadn't explicitly mentioned it, the fact that there's still a massive amount of turmoil (and none of the plotlines they started here have wrapped up, at all) is a good indicator that there's a lot more to come.
I don't mean this as a knock at you, but more directly at this kind of behavior as a whole - making new areas is really hard. Making cohesive, immersive events is really hard. This is pretty clearly a massive project (whole new planes, tons of quests, lots of intricate details popping up for those interested) with a lot of thought and effort put behind it, probably by many different hands. What is the point in trying to undermine that by bring up the hyping that the admin (maybe unintentionally) gave it? It was an offhand detail that kind of spiraled into a thought experiment for everyone as to what the 'biggest release' might be. The result is that it's almost never going to live up to everyone's individual expectations - it's more worthwhile to offer constructive criticism, if you have it, at individual pieces. If by your own admission you haven't been reading what was posted, then what's the point in asking if it was 'over hyped'?
Volunteers and admin aren't fragile things that need to be coddled, but they also don't really deserve vague off-the-cuff criticism without substance. Let the whole thing at least play out before you start knocking it down.
If you have actually explored the areas, fought the monsters or done any of the quests at all, you can easily see how much work has been done on this. And we’re not even done!
I can say that I’ve really enjoyed this release so far, been having a blast figuring out the areas and getting that juicy explorers xp. Might be able to crack the top 30 at this rate, which is pretty cool for me.
This has been awesome, the rest will be even more awesome. My only complaint is this all comes the week before finals, so ya boy is struggling to find enough time for everything!

I wonder if all this is part of testing new mechanics for Starmourn. Seems a bit strange to double down on Achaea while working to release Starmourn. Its a lot of investment on two competing projects.

They're entirely different teams, just like the other IRE games.

This isn't like traditional boxed video games, like, say the Madden games, where we stop development on Madden 2k16 to focus development on Madden 2k17. Both games will continue to be developed and supported well into the future. Many of these happenings and concepts in this event have been on the drawing board long before Starmourn was even though of!
Different teams within the same company, yes. Doesn't change my post.
I mean, IRE already has different projects that get simultaneously developed at the same time. For all intents and purposes Starmourn is just another (eagerly looked forward to) project that abides by the same established rules.
And you won't understand the cause of your grief...

So you would prefer if they stopped updating or developing Achaea at all because of Starmourn?
Try to exaggerate my point a little more. There's a huge gap between no investment versus hiring a new coder and effecting the biggest release Achaea's ever seen. I just find it interesting that the flagship's biggest release ever came (probably) within a year of their newest project's release.
In terms of hiring staff, that had nothing to do with this big release or the Starmourn project. We try to keep a certain number of dedicated staff on the roster but people have lives and get other jobs, so occasionally we have to hire new folks. A coder moved on to a new project late last year, so we hired a replacement! That we are able to hire says a lot for the health of Achaea!
Makarios and I have pretty much nothing at all to do with the other IRE projects, so Starmourn's development has no bearing on Achaea and our release plans or development schemes. Our sole focus is Achaea, and we'd never undercut the experience or our dedicated efforts here because something is going on elsewhere.

Personally, I've been continually amazed that IRE could move the flagship's producer to a new project, and replace him with not one but two fully capable and driven producers here on Achaea. To me that says a lot about the health of IRE. Keep up the amazing work for forever, please!

- 50% of the new physical areas have yet to be opened (so like ~800 rooms to go?)
- 70% of the total development into the Big Release (new mechanics, etc. etc. etc.) has yet to go live
I.e., we literally haven't seen the half of it.And you won't understand the cause of your grief...
