Events post 409 is beautiful writing. Hats off to whoever wrote it - a lovely reminder of everything that is great about Achaea (as, at its best, this whole event has been). Some really nice touches, great structure and ending. As someone trying to make a go of a Shallamese character right now it makes you want to log right in, and start kicking some ass.
Great job .
While I agree that this event has been everything that Achaea has needed, and that the events posts have been (while not quite Xhaiden Dale) top notch - especially with the quick reaction to player requests to include names for the added personal touch -, I do feel slightly aggrieved by the post and that part of the event itself since, alas, Silas wasn't dead when he spoke to Garron. The post does confirm it to have been a genuine mistake, so obviously no hard feelings, but it would have been nice for them to step back and realise they could have waited the 5 seconds between me squinting south and seeing the sword and hitting enter on stand;s;g sword;n. That way the event wouldn't have had the weird, still inexplicable step between Silas dying and the sword magically appearing in Halos's hands.
Obviously it's over and done now, but I do hope that in the future they'll be a bit less twitchy with the event progress button so as to avoid further weird continuity errors.
Huge rave to @Vayne, @Mathonwy, @Verily, Calanthris, the troubadour, and others for the very fun conversation at CC last night. Often CC is reduced to nonsense, and I often sit there to just kick anyone causing too many stupids. Ever so occasionally, though, interesting roleplay comes along, and it turns out like last night - interesting, engaging, and causing a few "OH NO (S)HE DIDN'T"s. @Scarlatti, especially, played his various roles wonderfully, even if he did kind of have to kick my sleepy ass and say "HEY, HEY, THIS PERSON IS NOT BEING COOL. THAT'S NOT COOL." Thanks for poking me in a way that woke me up, but didn't make me feel like a dope.
An additional rave to @Friztic, as well, for the argument afterwards. While you are utterly exasperating to argue with, it helps keep my mind sharp. Just um. You might not want to eat that lycopod salad I sent you in the mail.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby

COMMISSIONING THE ARENA =======================
The cost to commission the arena for a group event is 15,000 gold.
After a lot of planning and good execution, Mosr has his first bloodlined kid that won't go dormant, suicide, or be purged.
Edit: the last half of that post.
Personally, I do it this way: I don't bloodline, for IC (Nizaris is a Mhaldorian priest, who's suppose to be celibate, and he's also an ascetic) and OOC reasons (I'm married in RL, so it would feel odd), but I do adopt. I offer opportunity for adoption to my proteges at HR3. They cannot be adopted until HR5.
I personally like the system, because it gives me and the protege the freedom to disavow all knowledge of the other, and completely disown one another with no permanent record if either of us choose to make a major change in our characters, or if the relationship just doesn't work out. Also, by waiting until HR5, I pretty-well purge those who were just going to go dormant, or suicide.

I like that perspective on it. Katz is just not remotely interested in men at the moment, preferring to concentrate on her duty - though she's still a bit of a flirt, probably always will be. Never wanted kids for her either, though I do enjoy the 'breaking away from family' rp. Was one major issue between her ex husband and her... he wanted her to bloodline kids as soon as she could, I said no way in hell was I making her an ex teen mother, and I didn't really want any at all anyway! Of course they broke up, and he went and bloodline like five kids with other women, almost all of them would have been conceived while they were together, which gives great rp reason to hate him even more, even if he hadn't made a total fool of himself and deserted Mhaldor. ^^ Is it bad that I enjoy the hate rp more than the family/relationship stuff?
(D.M.A.): Cooper says, "Kyrra is either the most innocent person in the world, or the girl who uses the most innuendo seemingly unintentionally but really on purpose."
Enjoyed the skirmish we had outside of Mhaldor even though we had our butts handed to us (yes, even though). It was a good learning experience for our novice raiders and we were able to be quite constructive about it afterwards. I also hope this remains a rave and I don't wake up to Mhaldor having sanctioned while I sleep.
