ANNOUNCE NEWS #4738 (03/25/2017 at 04:28) From : Nicola To : Everyone Subject: QoL, Nametells, and Sanity! ------------------------------------------------------------------------
A very quick announce for a change that might alleviate a massive number of headaches.
Nametells now require a playername of three letters or more in length. This shouldn't affect many people, but the unfortunate recipients of typoed target aliases, says, and ship commands should find their headaches much alleviated.
Enjoy!
I haven't been this pleased with a change in forever. Such a tiny thing, but it will save my poor sensibilities when I stop receiving sex tells!
Give us -real- shop logs! Not another misinterpretation of features we ask for, turned into something that either doesn't help at all, or doesn't remotely resemble what we wanted to begin with.
Thanks!
Current position of some of the playerbase, instead of expressing a desire to fix problems:
Vhaynna: "Honest question - if you don't like Achaea or the current admin, why do you even bother playing?"

As another member of the Names Beginning With "IS" Club, this is an amazing and much needed change.
Had like a 30 minute duel or something with @Proficy. Was pretty fun (I can't outdamage him in Runie with Algiz, so I couldn't really win, and his Damnation defence is solid), even if it ended with hunger, since he couldn't kill me without it either. Good fight, mister!
Your mouth feels as dry and parched as the Mhojave Desert, making it difficult for you to breathe.
A putrescent brand across both palms sends a jolt of pain up your arms as the septic infection seats itself even deeper into your bloodstream.
Drier than desert sands, your parched skin splits open, creating a series of wounds across your body as though torn apart by a hawk's claws
Wrenching pain holds you tightly in its grasp as your heart temporarily stops beating, struggling to fight back against a bloodborne infection.
Scouring the Mhojave just about everyday, hoping to find something I missed the day before.... I'm determined!
On another note, @Aegis deserves a long overdue rave for going above and beyond and coding some of the most badass stuff I have seen in the game since I started playing years ago. I won't mention specifics beyond that, as most of them are Order exclusive and spoilers are never fun, but trust me they are outstanding! He created a trial/quest of War to test Order members, in an entirely separate plane or whatever. It was pretty neat! I imagine that in itself took hours upon hours of coding, let alone everything else he has been supplementing it with over the last few months. Definitely going to miss the Order, and would highly recommend it to anybody if it fits with their character's path, which unfortunately wasn't the case for me.
Looking forward to see where this "Deserter's Curse" goes, and thanks for everything Aegis!
Maybe it's a typo and he meant desserter's curse and all to need to do is enjoy a slice of cake. That's poisoned. So it kills you and you die, filthy traitor.

After deciding to try and complete the Blackwave set after Seragorn was selling a canopic jar and an apperception stone, I fell one piece short of completing the jewel that would finish the whole set for me. After like two weeks of searching...
X has traded the level 1 piece 'The aura for pedigree's jewel' to you.
You quickly assemble pedigree's jewel.
You have been awarded with a feretory of bronze! (Blackwave set completion bonus)
A feretory of bronze dissolves into smoke, leaving behind Gattan'lier's hunger, Terrin'ukia's Vice, and deSangre's spite.
Thank you to the lovely person who knew I had been searching for the piece and saved it to sell to me!!
This talisman round I decided to stop flipping pieces for a profit and instead helped people try to complete talismans they were hoping for at cost, or at redeem value if it was from a credit buy.
I'm not going to take credit for anything, but after several more people agreed to be on that bandwagon it seemed like not only did we get pieces faster, but more people were willing to cut us deals because they knew they'd get the same treatment. Working together is fun.

I've found this too, I've been trying to help out at selling at redeem or direct 1:1 trade if possible. It allowed me to spend extra for the gut piece from jadys since I had so much more than I thought on hand.

I have been selling at redeem/near redeem or trading even up and asking only for the favor in return should that person find a piece I need. In some cases though, more than one person responds for the same piece. If that happens, I just ask for offers. Whoever is highest is highest. I don't drive it up via bidding wars. And as far as completed talismans go, every one I have sold has been at prices that I felt was fair or for what I paid to put them together. I sold capes and crucibles at an average of 600 credits when most were going for 1000 credits plus. And at a time when cape threads alone were going for 1000 credits or more, I traded one for some dragon pieces, and I already had elder dragon.
I've found it works for me, though. That extra 400 credits I didn't charge for a crucible or cape in the past just comes back as a 400 credit discount later on from someone who noticed.
I hope you don't think I was saying you didn't do that or gouged me, was just stating how it seems common trend from almost everyone to do this with talis pieces I found.

I was one of the people he helped. It was amazing, I knew I was going to not be able to look for pieces for a week at the start of the month so I gave him a bunch of credits and said 'do your best'. I came back and he had already picked up a majority of the pieces.
10/10. Would use again
Edit: I would also like to post out a shout to @Sarathai for also helping look for pieces.
So happy, A huge thank you to @ehene for the help with the design, and the lovely admins or whoever is behind the pets@achaea for working with me to make him awesome, despite some of my silly delays.
Another huge props to the folks behind the scenes that made 3 small updates to him after I noticed a couple errors. Watching things get corrected in minutes when I have an issue is one of the reasons I love playing this game.
People have been massively generous recently and it's very much appreciated!
(D.M.A.): Cooper says, "Kyrra is either the most innocent person in the world, or the girl who uses the most innuendo seemingly unintentionally but really on purpose."
@Kyrra you are one of the most fun people alongside @Cooper (because that man takes a lot of shit from her) for me to poke at! It surprises me truly how much people tolerate from Naoma, and how just the little things snowball for her most times. Clumsy, accident prone, yet for some reason people like her. I am so not complaining either. I love seeing how people take her both good and bad, and most times I have to say, people are very good spirited with her! Even if she pisses people off, it tends to be short lived, least I sure hope!
@Naoma it was very much a case of do I or don't I at the time. I'm glad that I did and happy you rolled with it. My interactions with you vary so greatly but it's really nice to have those opportunities and see where they lead. Thanks for that!

Is the damage permanent though? Seems kinda unfair to have part of a city perma-destroyed by an opposing faction without any say from the faction itself, cause that's a pretty big "fck you".

Then again, grey lines and subjectivity.
I checked it out and on the Achaean game map the rooms appear to still exist but are inaccessible.
Despite some hard times OOCly and still some struggles here and there, I am quite grateful to the Achaean community, particularly those I talk to on a daily basis. A few of you make days brighter and easier to deal with. Some of you have come back to playing on and off, much to my delight, and continue to make any visit enjoyable. Some just bend an ear OOCly when I get into sour moods about this or that. Some just give me a break when I don't churn out the amount of work I used to.
The general understanding, patience, and engagement by the majority of Achaeans always warms my heart and keeps me playing, even if perhaps I don't seem as motivated of late. I don't really need to list names - y'all know who you are. Thank you.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
Seriously... in the time that I have been playing Achaea, it has been awesome. Lani's come a long way, but what happened... Ritual in Ashtan, @jinsun for proving that you CAN rp character near perfect for personality wise with Caefir involved. Then to raid Eleusis just to be told a few minutes later that, "Ashtan is in with large numbers."...@Farrah for leading a small group against impossible odds, Eleusis defiling, Ashtan raiding, @ankhareoutef for being willing to go into combat, @aralaya, @Sethra, @talamond, @torinn, @Lilian, @wye, @beowin, @frederich, @illaren...Dragon breath... just... awesome.... seriously...

Rave for @Talamond @Torinn and @Deucalion
This was amazing. And I you all for making it happen.

Note the Avatar message is bugged. It was me, not Torinn, who became Avatar.
I also edited out all the random Ashtani shouts, as it was mostly just rude trash talk.
