(Market): You say, "Selling a blueberry for 5 credits."
I will have your blueberry today for credits tomorrow.
That sounds highly inappropriate and not a good deal for the seller! :chuffed:
You catch on quick, although not sure of it being inappropriate. Unless his "blueberry" is.. oh god.. NO @DELADAN YOU'RE A MARRIED MAN

Blueberries are an item of prestige. There is no trading or selling of -my- blueberries. If I ever honor you by placing one in your hand, you better do the right thing and keep it for life.  I have given up century long friendships over dirty blueberry eaters.  Worst than killing a unicorn.  Gifting one  is pretty much the pinacle of acknowledgement from me.

I don't think anyone truly understands how much I love blueberries.  Would trade my first born son for one.
  • Glad I could help @Austere and @Jadys , was lots of fun!
  • Someday, I hope to earn myself an @Austere blueberry... o:)

    My blueberries are better.

Does anyone actually remember where blueberries came from and why they're so rare?

    Sirrocians, right?

    e.g.

    --- Mount Sinope ---------------- -9:-8:0 ---
Sunset falls upon the arid landscape, the reddish light filtering across the horizon. Twin to Mount Callisto, this peak is named for the daughter of Maya. In stark contrast to its sibling, the mountain is covered with lush plantlife. Pine and fir trees grow in massive groves along the slopes,
covering most of the surface and surrounding the peak. Less massive than the other mountains in the Siroccians, the sides of Mount Sinope lack a timberline and are completely covered by flora. A deep-blue valerian plant grows here. A hardy blueberry bush is growing here.

    harvest blueberry
That plant has been fully harvested.

Blueberry importance is set by the individual.  I highly doubt you cherish them more than I do.  Blueberries are my thing.

The only problem with that is that you were probably serpent when you harvested your berries and I was definitely sylvan.  You're move,  tree hugger

I don't see how it can be proven to be forged without an admin or the "forger" admitting to it being faked.

Neither of which I suspect will happen.
Can't be proven to be real without an admin verifying. Which I suspect will not happen.

Ultimately, it boils down to credibility on both sides, considering it devolves to a 'he said she said.'

I still have the first blueberry @Austere ever gave me, tucked away safe and sound. The second was given with the intention to be eaten. That is what made it the ultimate wedding gift! Not sure how I can top that.

I am jealous of all you people with all these blueberries! I heard a rumour that there is someone who actually has a rift full of them. Curious if it's true. As a novice in Ashtan, my love of blueberries got me dubbed the Blueberry Bandit, and I am fairly sure I am the only one to ever write an ode to a blueberry and post it on the city board (Targ)!  :)

Anyway. When I mentioned the blueberry in my rave, I had no idea it was going to take off like it did. I had a lot of fun with it. Raves to all you fun people. Made my day.

The original two bushes were from Siroccians yes. Then one day someone discovered that you could plant the fruit you harvested from those bushes. I think it was some sort of bug or oversight, but the cultivated blueberry bushes you see all over the mountain ranges don't grow fruit. And then for some reason, a little while later, the original two bushes stopped producing fruit too.

It's quite possible those two bushes were only meant to produce X amount of fruit 'in the ground'. So every blueberry bush you see still counts as 'in the ground'. Which is why nothing is growing anymore.

See what happens when you get greedy about blueberries?

(I still have 40 in my rift)
You couldn't plant them when I first started picking them. I tried.

Likely an oversight during another change somewhere.

    Lol, that was me.

And for a while every blueberry bush being planted was bearing fruit, because there would be no way for me to have planted all the Siroccian rooms otherwise, plus some in the Vashnars to boot. I still have a shit-ton of blueberries from that escapade.

At some point Delphinus and Kaiya kept the planting up until almost all the mountain rooms on Sapience had blueberries, because we were all OCD about some mountain rooms having blueberries, and some not.. or something..

    The original source, btw!
    Snug valley below Mt. Xevius.
The surroundings are dry and without moisture, a fact evident even in the dim
morning light. A deep-blue valerian plant grows here. A hardy blueberry bush is
growing here. A hardy blueberry bush is growing here. There are 2 blueberry
    bushes here.

...I've had ten blueberries sitting in my rift for -years- and had no clue of any of this.

(Insert "Now You Know" gif here.)

"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to? You will never find that [everlasting] life for which you are looking. When the gods created man they allotted to him death, but life they retained in their own keeping. As for you, Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day, dance and be merry, feast and rejoice. Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water, cherish the little child that holds your hand, and make your wife happy in your embrace; for this too is the lot of man."
