@Tharvis‌ I didnt get everyone killed. The only one at risk was me. :P

  • @Jurixe Thanks to you, rather! I loved that. And I assure you I think it is me who need to improve my RP. :)

Hashan has always been the city with the greatest potential to become a real force in terms of contributing to the greater storyline, but unfortunately that potential is overshadowed by drama, borderline-oocness and a general overarching lack of taking itself seriously. There are people in Hashan who would rather it be a darker Cyrene and will resist all attempts to push it further onto the axis of conflict, which is a true shame.

Even I considered joining Hashan before I went to Mhaldor, and I remain intrigued by its theme and history, in which it is incredibly rich. I wish the Hashani players and admin all the best in trying to fix its myriad issues - there is already the beginnings of something that could be really great there, it just requires a unifying force. My advice: Be tough where you need to be. You'll be much happier for it in the long run, though you might suffer in the short term.

Pretty much this, it's why I had my character be Hashani to begin with. It was really weird, because in the time I was playing, the character playing Twilight pretty much said, 'screw this city,' and up and left, taking out the obelisk, and had most of his followers run off.

This left Hashan with a huge identity crisis, as Ourania wasn't active at the time, and Valnurana was either not active, or very quiet and behind the scenes. So a few citizens were very much 'anti-Triad' for being betrayed that way, and that's lingered for years. Seems that legacy is still remaining, ten RL years after that happened. :(

  • That's a substantial nerf too. First wave of classleads I've ever seen anything big go in for ships.

    Someone must love you, guy.

That's pretty much the Hashan I was in, and how Hashan has been on and off for the longest time. (At least the times I was Hashani.) At times though... it's better not to even bring up history at all with Hashan. Facts are like math they hurt.

Edit for clarity: Deladan started out as Hashani. Was in the Kharon guild.

Essentially. Irl, I think Hashan is dead. I would prefer to start over with Hashan now. Its a complete mess. I agree with @Wei‌. Thats what I would like to see. But I dont think it will happen.

Anyway. More rave. Less discussion about Hashan.
Rave for being completely exhausted irl and running around meropis and getting lost and proceeding to laugh at myself in my delerium. Was oddly fun getting lost and forgetting I am Hashani for a while. Also the raid with Targossas earlier today was oddly fun since half of us were running around going. What do we do? And some of us, like myself were just like. Hell with it. No one is leading. Bonzai! Also good thinking @Mannimar‌ and @Tyamat‌ about moving the guards. Also, rave @Ayleth‌ for saving my ass when i charged @Draqoom‌ by myself. Had no clue anyone was covering me. Was just sick of sitting around

I didn't save your ass - the fact that you ran, did. I just sat there sniping one of them (I don't remember which. I don't even remember if I was using delph, pref, or curare arrows. :( ) like the noncom I am. (Hopefully serpent combat won't be TOO hard to learn now with the whole 'affliction illusions are dumb, let's make them not work.' thing going on.) you all the same, @Caoimhaen. Big rave to you for having the courage to charge them, though. I'd probably just sit there and attempt to remember my macros for my dstabs.

Similar to @Vayne's post, I'm definitely sending a shout out to @Twilight and @Ourania for being around and trying to help Hashan with everything that's going on and a bigger one to @Valnurana for taking on the mess that is currently the Serpent Lords house. We all have an identity crisis (even though the concept is sitting right underneath our noses in the history and lore and no one is choosing to utilise it. ).

Also, random raves to @Vayne, @Datrius, @Fendrel, @Mannimar, @Eiredhel for being an amazing text family.

I really hope the SL get their act together, they have so much lore to use at their fingertips and @Ourania gave us some really cool storylines to work off of, but when I put my foot down and tried to actually get the House to be a Serpent House, I got mutinied.

Super rave to @Sartan and @Gaia for the betrayal event. I enjoyed it greatly! To Eleusis, you guys are great and i had fun while in the village. To @Rangor, @Alrena, and the others, you guys are awesome and great leaders. Keep up the good work! (sorry for the impromptu death @Ravien!)

Raves to Mhaldor! It's good to be back :)

I disagreed because there's a reason that you see most of these big name PKers like Tanris and Poergh popping up in Ashtan, and that's because people like Skarash have been setting and maintaining the foundations for those people to thrive in Ashtan for the last 10-15 rl years.

Ashtan has a legacy of benevolent tyrants/philosopher kings/manipulative bastard overlords. Political stability is more appealing to most people (I assume) than revolving door leadership, with dozens of people who believe the best way to end the endless succession of contestations is for them to contest and be a better leader than the current guy.

ETA: Both forms have their merits. Ashtan has benefitted tremendously from the continuity in their leadership, where Overseers are generally allowed time to achieve their goals and are ushered out usually quietly when it comes time for somebody else to take over.

Hashan isn't in that position, though. Somebody needs to march in, grab the city by the balls and shake shit up, and @Twilight and @Ourania need to be there to protect them from the backlash.
