  • An almost unbearable feeling of emptiness heralds the arrival of a cloaked and hooded figure

carrying a blood-stained sickle. Saeva gasps in terror as a skeletal hand emerges from the sleeve

and points at her. She bows her head to the inevitable as the manifestation of Death swings its

sickle at her neck. You watch in fascinated horror as she is gathered to Death's cold bosom.

    You have slain Saeva.

    YAY!

  • I feel the first meeting of the TLA went pretty good.  I really hope this ends up going somewhere. :)

    I have undressed a god.

  • Nah, I'm testing on you at battlements next time you're around.

@Hanley I love when stuff like that happens. Some people don't seem to enjoy it, but a majority of the three groups do so it's worth the Chaos (tm).

    I giggled inside at this.

That uh... wasn't us hitting guards. They walked them to us so they could call them in. Cause, you know, they outnumbered us and it wasn't a fair fight otherwise :D

To stay on topic: My rave is that we apparently scare people enough to merit that kind of thing :D

Doesn't surprise me. The sheer number of deaths was amusing though.

  • You guys got beckoned twice, since no one guarded.

You guys also started with three, and then nine, and then thirteen.

I think at that point, anything goes when defending a city. Not something Targ wouldn't do if we were raiding.

  • edited May 2014

Y'all raided us with 22+ the other night, I was leading, and I almost didn't turn on the font- someone else made me. Sure as hell didn't use guards, we just rushed you and hoped for the best. But it's cool to make nonsense assumptions, too, because they sound good :)

ETA: btw, that list of guard deaths was in the Worm and Grub, not at gates. They were walked there to call them in when they rushed.

  • We're both currently annoyed, so I'm not going to be a shit disturber, but I wasn't around when Sartan ordered anything, or when the Ashtan v Mhaldor v Targ happened, so I won't say anything.

But the fact remains is that we do whatever we can to defend our cities, nothing more. The moment enemies enters a city any tactic is fair game to get them out. If you guys just keep coming, and the same strategy works, why not?

Fair enough. I just don't subscribe to that philosophy. I don't like playing games I can't lose, and I'm not sure why people are -so- afraid to lose. What's the worst that happens? You die a bit, one room gets blown up. Nothing to panic so hard about that you need to bring guards to foes you outnumber, really. (I get a lot of people will disagree with me about this, but w/e.)

And, since this is raves: clever alts that I enjoy hanging out with in the Dawnblade. Obvious, but awesome :D

  • To be fair, we didn't move guards because I wasn't there. We would have crushed you punks.

     i'm a rebel

Because everyone is a ragequitting zealotic tryhard that grew up winning twelfth place medals and never understood the concept of losing, or not fitting in, so they turn to drastic action to win and do anything not to lose.

In this topic, people enjoy losing, numbers are meaningful, being complaining is a complained about subject and people justify justification.

Nobody asked for a summary from you, stupid viking.

  • Wasn't there also talk of a Targossian cata being up? And, if so, how did two Magi not have silence down for call for help, especially considering progressively moving guards closer and closer is really obvious.

    Mithridates had left :D

By the time we were in the City, had no bard, no magi.

ETA: Naah wasn't there for the in-City portion, fyi

  • I think moving guards during a raid is really a disappointment, but yes a silence vibe would of resolved the issue.

On the other hand, you can just teach a lesson from @Jhui‌.  If you are going to use guards to fight your battles, we'll kill them all.

The one thing that I took away from this whole thing: omg, we had 22+ people available for a raid?
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"

  • First raid, was quite excited. And then I was the first one killed in LoS! Ow.

An arrow flies towards you, shot by Vicious.

It strikes you, gouging a deep and bloody wound.

A prickly stinging overcomes your body, fading away into numbness.

Frozen by fear, you can do naught but watch, wide-eyed with terror, as Trasiva's blazing sphere

streaks towards you and slams into your body, burning you horribly.

You sigh in relief as you realise the meteor is not heading for you.

In the sky high above, you hear a high-pitched keening sound, and are appalled to see a flaming

    meteor streaking towards the ground.

    1890h, 4128m, 16570e, 13469w x-

A glowing spear comes flying in towards you, thrown  by Xer. It buries itself in your gut, impaling

You begin to writhe furiously to escape the spear that has impaled you.

@Jhui @Kross @Halos @Morthif @Reonna @Hanley @Banek @Gibbi and the other's that were here for that.  This has to be the most amusing raid I've seen in awhile.  Everyone is having fun from both sides.
