To play in any city in the game you must swear an Oath of loyalty under pain of death. Such is the consequence of switching allegiances in Achaea. However, as it is a necessity imposed upon players for access to these basic, pinnacle organisations, we should treat the situation with OOC care and consideration when such an Oath is broken. A death or two, or even five might be warranted. Cave camping and murder in range of the 20s and 30s in the span of less than a real life day is not warranted or even slightly reasonable.

It's our responsibility as players in a multiplayer interactive game to BE responsible and to hold others accountable if they break those responsibilities. If not, we have to bring mechanics like cause and divine rule back into play and even implement them as prevalent guides in cities, which takes the main selling point of Achaea completely out of the game.

This discussion should have been over at the start when the culprits apologised. That they're being defended at all is an indication of a bitter, sour attitude that needs to be ridiculed and removed.

I like to think that, while he was in Targ, Atalkez got the best I had to offer (and he sure called on me from time to time!). Now that he's left in the worst possible way, he'll get the worst of me! It's just the way it goes.

I'm with you, the game is a game, no big deal. Yes, Anedhel and Atalkez were cool, so that's awesome.

I also understand why I'm being attacked, it comes with the decision I made, which is again just fine.

You have to remember there are people behind the character, and if you just lolfuck them every chance you get...they'll leave. Good players, active that spend real money = player base you want.

The more people that grief like that, the less of those players you'll see.

30 deaths is patently ridiculous, anybody defending it is just as ridiculous. If you're not enjoying the game you shouldn't be forced to grit your teeth and bear it or quit/roll a new character because people like Anedhel think once you swear a text oath, that's it.

edit: unless Atalkez did one of those retune-all-totems-against-city-drain-bank-accounts-let-enemies-into-master-crystal-move-guards-away-from-their-proper-places-to-facilitate-a-massive-enemy-raid betrayal. But I don't think that's what happened

30 deaths is a lot, though its more like people went into Ashtan (his new city, or soon to be, and the city that fights with Targossas the most) and his new "allies" defend him.  He just got prioritized given his betrayal.  On the otherside of the spectrum the standard 1-2 deaths would also be extremely weak, that's just the standard outcome of a failed rush.

Your forgetting the ~3 deaths in Cyrene and ~3 deaths on clouds.

Oh, and the ~5 deaths at cave, and ~3 deaths outside of Ashtan.

Don't act like it was a raid, because it wasn't.
