What started out as good intentions to try and partisipate in the Festival of Dawn turned into a -nightmare- by sheer mistake and some slight stupidity on my part. I thought it was over, and I fully thought for a good hour, after excusing myself from Targossas, that I was 100% doomed and was never going to get Devotion back. This was then confirmed by the tell Aurora sent me saying, "You will attend Me. Now." I thought it was -over-.
Get summoned, talk a bit about what happened. Then the unimaginable.
Aurora, the Lightbringer asks, "Do you accept the wrong of your actions?"
You say with a flowing, cultured accent, "Yes, m'Lady. It was a grave mistake and insult on my part."
The Lightbringer raises an alabaster finger to Her lips, Her inky eyes quietly considering.
Aurora, the Lightbringer says, "Many would consider you a lost cause, Melodie."
Aurora, the Lightbringer says, "Many have, many do."
You say with a flowing, cultured accent, "So I have heard, a few times."
Aurora, the Lightbringer says, "No soul is unredeemable. That is My belief."
Soft weaves of ivory light bleed insidiously from between the cracks in the walls, filling the sacrarium with a dense mist.
The fog is quickly joined by thin veins of fire, the rippling flames slashing vertically, absorbing into the light.
The mist roams, delicate fronds reaching towards you, wrapping around your arms, tugging you into its gelid embrace.
White light suffuses your form in a complex shroud, each strand weaving into your very soul.
The Lightbringer stands before you, Her eyes boring into yours as She reaches one hand out, Her alabaster fingers framing your face.
Aurora, the Lightbringer says, "I shall see Good in you again, fallen priestess. That which has abandoned you shall fill you once more."
Stunning weaves of ivory and gold drown your senses, pushing you to your knees, cocooning you in a radiant cloak.
You have emoted: Melodie blinks, small tears streaming down her cheeks.
As one, the weaves fracture, blazing into the depths of your frame with fiery intent. All else ceases to exist, as the weight of devotion settles once more upon your soul.
Your link to devotion has been restored.
You see Aurora, the Lightbringer shout, "The fallen priestess arises, finding reprieve from the shadows in the comforting embrace of Light. No longer shall she be judged, but instead imbued with a renewed sense of purpose. By Our will, her devotion is restored."
You say with a flowing, cultured accent, "Th... thank You. Thank You so much, my Lady."
Aurora, the Lightbringer says, "Had you but once faltered in your words. Had you but once argued for yourself. This would have ended in a manner far less."
You have emoted: Melodie slowly gets to her feet, taking a few deep breaths.
Aurora smiles softly.
You say with a flowing, cultured accent, "I know what I did was wrong, Lady. Immensely so. I... goodness. I'm a little at a loss for words."
Aurora, the Lightbringer says, "We are not ogres, Melodie."
You have emoted: Melodie lets out a soft, shakey laugh.
At first, I was:
Then, I remembered:
Eeeeeeeeeeeee.
Edit: Ehhh I suck at quoting, but whatever.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby

Because some days I wake up and feel like being Amunet: "irredeemable", irredeemable.
Joking aside though, that's ace stuff. And a great reminder of how stuff just gets *good* if you RP something out, and run with it. It would have been so easy for @Melodie to run to the forums or OOC clans and whinge, or complain about how a God was stiffling her RP; and on the other side, it would have been really easy for @Aurora to never relent because Gods, raar, can never lose.
Awesomely handled on both sides, nicely written. Man, I wish @Aurora and @Deucalion weren't being so awesome, it's making me want to get sucked back in (again).

Interestingly, Merriams have it in their thesaurus but not their dictionary. Irregardless, I'm skeptical. Merriam's is a filthy American dictionary, the English dictionaries don't have it. And, in Achaea, the Boston Tea Party never happened. Suck it, yank.
What's the festevil? Even my forum memes are outdated. I said "stiffle" upthread and I bet no-one even noticed. Cain throwing a laptop out the window is still funny right? RIGHT?

My OED has it. Their online version is behind a paywall, though.

Did you just use the word "irregardless" in a discussion about correct word usage? Please tell me that was intentional...

Festevil was around the same time some asshole tried to steal culture for Mhaldor.

WELL, IT'S UGLY. Irredeemable spills off the tongue like silvered dew, unredeemable is all harsh and fugs.
Also, bitches please: irregardless was obviously intentional. As was "skeptical". I have clearly been gone too long.
Squee @ a casino barge tho, that's awesome. I'm going to have to log in, and see it now. >:/

It'll be the first casualty when they bring in coastal raids. Mark my words.
Already priming a space rock, though don't tell @Gaia.
no killing our new casino barge. Although i'd like to be able to get back on it. Stood around at a jetty for 40 minutes or more last night and the barge never showed back up.
