  • What a confidence - it was 30 degrees here the other day. Hot enough that I sat in the air conditioned office to cool down.
  • Coincidence, not confidence.

    Silly phone

All the costumes D:. I just said screw Halloween and went to the casino.
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.

    Swamp thing > Groot
Guardians are by far my favorite Marvel characters since Annihilation, but DC is by far my favorite DC and comic character. The lovely Poison Ivy with me deserves much credit for the design of the costume, I should add.

  • Here's something that doesn't happen often... Heard a crash last night, didn't think anything of it (sleep > everything).

Woke up, saw this... Too tired to realise, went back out to kitchen and looked again. Wtf?

Thanks, neighbours. Not like we needed that fence.

It's a little potatoey, but if you look closely, the person to the far right has nothing on the board but all of these nice, expensive lands, and the guy with the DV shirt has a Blood Moon in play, which turns all non-basics into mountains lol. He was out that entire match from the start until we finally put him out of his misery. Then he returned the favour by playing his Eldrazi deck the next time, which, the cards he had in that are really annoying considering as soon as they enter the graveyard they just get shuffled back into the library.

Thumbs up for Blood Moon. Has it been reprinted since I stopped playing, or was that an original from The Dark expansion?

    Did you get emrakul'd?
  • Was so excited to see the name Sylvaria. Then my brain clicked in and realized it wasn't Silvaria, just a rip off :( Only a slight amount of offense intended.

Yep, it's the original. All his cards are pretty old since he started playing in the Navy years back. He said he tried to buy a couple of more before the trip but they run for like $50 per now.

Yep, we all did. For those who haven't experienced it, it's a 15/15 with annihilate 6, so you have to sacrifice 6 permanents each time it attacks before damage even applies. Plus, he had another card which could basically copy it, and an artifact where he could sacrifice it for health equal to the creature's toughness (15). And since as soon as it hits his graveyard it just shuffles back into his library, he can keep fishing it out with another card called Sneak Attack which allows him to put it directly into play without paying the cost. Was very, very annoying.

Basically copy it, but didn't directly? if you put a token matching it they both die due to the legendary rule (changed iiiiin kamigawa or mirrodin I believe?)

I can't remember but I use to run the 3UUU for untap a permanent and control it just to counter emrakul, but it meant running a much lower curve to try and stamp out any early threat from the eldrazi speed decks (UG was the way, but since emmy doesn't have trample you can chump it and lose lots of weenies to feed it's double turn smash).

Then came innistrad a year or so later and lili of the veil. It was loltastic counter to any eldrazi since you could safely whittle away at their high cards while preparing for a board clear. I once in a standard made someone choose between everything and emrakul, then bounced emmie :P

Edit: I think standard is the name of just any set. Mght be standard 2. Can't remember :proud:

Sylvaria copied it but didn't copy the name (retained the name of the card doing the copying), so both could stay in play.

To get back on topic, a night of fire and rum-fueled shenanigans with my brothers.

    Drink of choice:

The middle brother picked up the youngest brother...(I think something flew into his eye from the fire).

Then the oldest brother (me) picked him up.

Dunno if you watch Once Upon a Time or not, but you look a LOT like the lady they cast to play the live action Merida (archer lady from Brave)
