@Tvistor once you've naturalized(citizen) you can travel between Auz and NZ with only a passport, no visa. It's like two countries for the price of one!
Beware, VISAs aren't cheap, I had to dish out $3k for my partner one - and that's coming in with Canadian citizenship.
Now for a rave, http://store.steampowered.com/sale/linux_release ! It's been pretty good gaming for me since I switched to Ubuntu from the start, but Steam coming with so many native titles is damn nice.
Helped out a friend make his prom proposal- we gathered about 75 students, and lined them up in such a way to spell out the word 'PROM' outside of the school. While he proposed in front of the classroom (on the third floor), she looked out of the window and saw the students in formation when he proposed. And, she said yes!

No it's not. Everyone knows that NZ is our 9th state.

Krenim: Hounds? How cliche.

Leaving for Cape Town tonight for 9 relaxing days and getting to see my boyfriend for the first time in 2 months. And to add to my excitement, he has planned something special on Table Mountain for my birthday. Stoked!
Two days this week spent subbing for a class that the teacher that I know decently well, who had a family emergency. I talked to the kids in all of my classes, and all of them agreed to at least be nice to her when she got back (being as the teacher is a famously strict one), while the older kids all pinched in to buy a card and signed it with well-wishes.
Other two days this week (yesterday and today) spent in an elementary music class. Usually -very- wary of little kids, but I think I'm really starting to ease into it as I figure out what to do and how to handle different situations. So more confidence, and plus, they're really sweet... I'm a perfect stranger, but because I'm a teacher, they all want to give hugs. Plus watching them hum along/move their bodies to Mary Poppins and giggling adorably. It's just too cute.
So all in all, an exhausting but very fulfilling week. I still don't think I'll ever teach full time, but I'm so glad my job has an important -purpose-, so I always feel good when I get things done. Plus 99% of the staff are super nice, because you're there to enable them to be able to have days off if they need them.
This so beats any job I've ever held (which includes a video store clerk, a job similar to telemarketing, and fast food), and if any of you folks are still jobless, I 100% recommend looking into subbing for public schools. In at least some, if not a lot of states, you can get started with only a high school degree (having a degree just gets you a higher pay).
THREE DAY WEEKEND, WOOHOO!
Slight rant: Playing Achaea during the week is getting increasingly difficult to actually not sit there and doze off. Must manage time better so I am not so exhausted.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
Found out that I was selected for what is basically a type of promotion at work (US medical training can be tough to explain). Received very positive feedback and learned that I am becoming the type of leader I'd hoped to be. Feeling pretty good about it!!
We got the keys to our new flat today, and it has an absolutely stunning view of the London skyline! Woah, I didn't even notice it during the first viewing.
I'm absolutely exhausted from packing and moving things there, so so thankful my parents and his are helping me tomorrow, and elated that I finally, finally, get to be in a place that is bright and airy and not covered in damp and mould. And it's right on the bus route to campus. And it's perfect walking distance from a beautiful London park. And it's going to be sunny tomorrow. Yay! Things are looking up.
