My dog just randomly learned how to play fetch.
I accidentally made overnight besties with @Mathonwy who ended up meeting my mum (who promptly disapproved)
Been in a good mood the past few days, I had to take a little break from Achaea but it meant that I could reach out in other ways to people who matter, and spent time doing things for me, taking up old hobbies, and generally focusing on finding my happy place. Also got to see my kitties for cuddles and comforts.
So, to new friends, to closer old ones, and to the miserable bastards who push us towards them!
This is pretty cool, but I have to admit, in my early morning, sleep deprived state, I read that like this:
"I accidentally made overnight babies with @Mathonwy"
I blinked, shook my head and said to myself "Wait a minute, that's not right. Try again!"
So I did, and came back with "I accidentally made overnight beasties with @Mathonwy"
So now I'm like, alright, this day is a write off, go back to bed and start over
It's been a good birthday but that's not why I'm posting.

My rave: my sister is coming to visit.
I have worked my ASS off for a long while trying to build and start a career in teaching. After making a 92 on a pre-admission certification test, I'm ecstatic to announce that I've been offered a teaching position. not just that, but it's a special school for advanced students that are on track to go to college for a degree or a certification in whatever career path they want for themselves.
So, not only do I get to be a teacher, but I get to be a teacher in a school where students have to have exceptional academic standing and motivation to even apply, much less get in. There aren't even words.
I saved a baby possum from my dog last night. I was overwhelmed with how gorgeous and fiesty it was. I tried to reunite it with its mum (whom I feed regularly) and the blessed little thing tried to Wolverine attack my face. So damn proud of how gutsy it was despite the scare of my dog.
My mum's eye surgery went fantastic and her post-op checkups have been getting a thumbs up from the doctor. Basically the back of her eye dried up and crumbled, causing a hole in her macular. She's got the sight back in her eye now which is pretty fantastic and because it was a free procedure, I feel good that I always donate to the Fred Hollows Foundation when I can.
She can't drive for a while so since I had to drive her into town to get her hair done, I just discovered an amazing Sushi place for lunch. There's no words to describe the amount of love I have for seaweed. Today's been really awesome.
Side rave: A cat we adopted sometime last week has finally decided to be social and up and adopted me. I now have a little black shadow constantly meowing at me who loves having his head scratched.
Looks like I'll be getting that new job!

Well, this was going to be two raves, but it turns out there is three.

my wonderful, beautiful, bestest sister ever had been suffering from postpartum and a bad reaction to her medicine.
I know my sister very well and love her unconditionally. She called me yesterday begging me to come over and save her and her husband and the baby.
I came over and gave them a break, and took care of the newborn. This afternoon after admitting she felt better I took her out and treated her to a girls night. My other sister chipped in. I had to tap into my grooming savings, but that doesn't matter when your family needs you.besides I got the best reward ever:
ALL OF THE THINGS ARE WONDERFUL.
I have a job! Putting my 1st class honours degree in Italian to good use waitressing in an Italian restaurant. Hopefully now I'll be able to eat something other than rice and beans during my master's degree!
To elaborate on my previous post:
I have a set date to move out of this bad situation with my family. For those unaware, I have been supporting 4 people, my brother, my father, my mother, and myself. Come October 1st, I will be living somewhere else, not with my family and they will not be living off my dime anymore.
This also means that I can finally finish paying off some old debts rather than prolonging the torture.
I quit smoking more than a month ago and despite a couple hiccups (Ann Arbor) I haven't had a cigarette nor had the craving (unless I've been drinking heavily). So yaay.
Lastly, my favorite thing is that I went to a Medieval Festival with @Lachlan and had a ton of fun. I had no idea what to expect, but I ended up with a pirate comedian girl straddling one of my shoulders while the other comedian asked me if I heard the ocean. (Should've answered that I heard scuttling). Also, we played minigolf where I got destroyed and go-karts where I rescued a purse on the track at the cost of being destroyed by Lachlan yet again.
Fixed.
Meant to ask, did you guys go to Silver Leaf or Blackrock?
