So for over a year, I played with this. It had one USB port, thus why you see the very old adapter there. Also had to use external wireless. It wasn't great, but it worked, which was more than I had had in about four years. In time we connected it remotely to the boyfriend's desktop so we shared more memory and I was able to better get into the combat scene (something I couldn't before). Still, though, it caused several issues, as even his computer was older and starting to suffer.
As of two weeks ago, all of that changed when @Kei up and decided to upgrade to a newer laptop for herself and send me her older one... older being a Toshiba Satellite P305-S8842. 4 gigs of ram, and a buttload of other things I haven't been able to enjoy in over five years. Just having sound again was strange (due to the remote desktop setup, sound was not available), but all these other features just blew my mind. It arrived 2-3 days ago, and looks more like this, with Melodie again making an appearance:
I was stunned. Not only am I going to be able to dig deeper into combat, I'm actually going to be able to play graphical games, have up a browser, and god knows what else thanks to this laptop.
So my rave? Wonderful, generous Achaeans. Without Tessa and Kei, I would have never been able to get into combat, or play reliably and thus enrich Melodie's story, or be able to do all of the things I look forward to being able to enjoy in the future.
Thank you both. You are truly amazing people, and make my life better for being apart of it.
