First among the shield. I've had my myrmidon armour for a while, and Gildenlow beat you to it a decade ago!

Not sure there's more than one! (I'm talking shit, learn to talk it back please)

Kickass, @Dochitha. That achievement was designed to be difficult but fair, rewarding not necessarily the biggest and strongest, but the folks that get out there and throw down every day. Way to represent, they should put your name on the Wall as a role model for the ages.
-- Grounded in but one perspective, what we perceive is an exaggeration of the truth.
You have slain a sturdy knight, retrieving the corpse. Your soul cries out in ecstasy as it reaches new heights of power. You have advanced to level 92. You have reached the illustrious level of 4th Order of the Hyperphysical.
Everyone says it gets better...still waiting on that.

It does. At 99.
Really though it does seem to speed up a bit. I couldn't tell if that is because you get more excited to be close and just grind it out faster or if it is because it actually does pick up.

I'd say the program is kickass. It's not hard but require tremendous follow through, coulda gotten dragon a few times off the same time reaching Myr. Is an ambitious design.
Now just waiting on curator @Shirszae for the ceremony, as there was none documented before. I am looking forward to the ceremony for it will give quite an impact / meaning to Shield. Must be headache hardwork for @Shirszae ... I thank her in advance.

Don't hunt Sirocco and it might go by faster :P
The ducals in Sirocco aren't too bad, huge drain on resources though.
I switched classes for the first time in like 6 months, apparently I made this a thing when I change my defense priorities and it just made me happy when I saw it.
(Cyrene): Shirszae says, "Cyrene, the Shield is about to bestow its highest accolade to one of its most accomplished Shieldwardens. All those wishing to attend are welcome to meet at the Tiltyard."
The Hall of Shields (indoors).
Page Owen stands here at attention. A runic totem is planted solidly in the ground. Lying flat on the ground is a key-shaped sigil. An obsidian eye sigil is here. A sigil in the shape of a small, rectangular monolith is on the ground. A heavy manuscript has been chained to an ornate pedestal upon the stone dais. Ever watchful, a grizzly bear sow waits. A flurry of sea-tinged plumage betrays a formidable albatross perching nearby. A long-horned battle ram stands here, padding at the ground with anxious anticipation. With her back leg locked in the resting position, Bramble, a phantom donkey dozes here. A massive dire wolf looms, black fur almost swallowing the light. Khalyon Baranova, Seeker of the Path is riding on a long-horned battle ram. Discurean Pathwalker Salisa Desmijr is riding on a phantom donkey. Her face is partially concealed beneath the raised hood of a grim cloak. She wields a Shield of Absorption in her left hand and a scythe of shadows in her right. Shieldlord Keorin, Vashnarian Lancer is here. She wields a knotted willow staff in both hands. Esquire Draqoom Van Helsing, Vashnarian Commander is here. Shield Curator Shirszae Nynniaw is here. She wields a ceremonial staff bearing a double-headed eagle in her left hand. Silver Sentry Mithrios is here. He wields an elegant, rune-etched battleaxe in each hand. Gilded Squire Bronislav Zviera, Shieldlord is here. He wields a Shield of Absorption in his left hand and Elentari's Scourge in his right. Sentry Garrus Kesar, Marshal of the Smith is here. His features are obscured by a mask of lifevision. He wields an ancient dwarven shield of silver bearing the arms of Garrus in his left hand. The Blue Dragon Kayeil's imposing form looms. Gemologist Samizsea Silvertongue is riding on a massive dire wolf. Squire Kogan Baranova, Curiosophical Explorer is riding on a formidable sea-spray albatross. He wields a Shield of Absorption in his left hand and Adchachel's lament in his right. Silver Sentry Sabetha Xanatov-Crescent is riding on a lean grizzly bear. She wields a Dawnrender bastard sword in both hands. Sentry Reisha is here. Shieldarm Aziik Imperio-Vallah is here. Volunteer Uzai is here. He wields a rapier in his left hand and a lightweight buckler in his right.
Shirszae says loudly in Cyrenese with a faded Kamleikanese accent, "First of all, thank you all for accompanying us in celebrating one of our most skilled Shieldwardens. We shall begin now."
Bearing a ceremonial staff bearing a double-headed eagle in one hand, Shirszae makes her way amidst the gathered with purposeful strides until she comes to stand in front of the southern wall- the wall adorned with a multitude of shields, each bearing a different and peculiar coat of arms. Without turning, she speaks to the gathered, her voice loud enough to carry.
Shirszae says solemnly in Cyrenese with a faded Kamleikanese accent, "To be a Myrmidon is to receive one of the highest ranks and honours the Vashnarian Shield can bestow. Earned not with elections or appointments, but through blood spilt each and every month. To become a Myrmidon, one must ascend the ranks of our Imperial Vanguard, showing their dedication and skill in singular combat against warriors from all across the lowlands."
Banging the staff with force enough for the sound to travel clearly across the hall, Shirszae's allows her gaze to roam about the gathered in a mute but emphatic demand of silence before at last settling upon you, beckoning for you to approach.
You have emoted: Dochitha steps forward.
Shirszae says solemnly in Cyrenese with a faded Kamleikanese accent, "On this day, before you stands a Shieldwarden who long ago swore their oath, had their duel and shed the blood that initiated them as one amidst a vast rank of brothers and sisters. But for this Shieldwarden, this was not enough, as it should never be enough for any one of us who are charged with the defence of our fair Jewel."
Shirszae says solemnly in Cyrenese with a faded Kamleikanese accent, "Pushing forward, day by day, this Shieldwarden made a name for themselves. A name forged with sweat and determination, by the willingness to teach and be taught in return by fellow soldiers. By the resolve to stand in defence of the Shield's charge, wether in victory or defeat."
Shirszae says solemnly in Cyrenese with a faded Kamleikanese accent, "Countless years have passed, but this Shieldwarden endured the lure of apathy, resisted the urge to think he was good enough. For no sword is ever good enough unless always kept sharp and honed, lest it fall to rust and ruin."
As her words echo across the hall, Shirszae falls silent, allowing a moment of brief introspection for all present before again gesturing to you, this time with the full length of a ceremonial staff bearing a double-headed eagle.
Shirszae says solemnly in Cyrenese with a faded Kamleikanese accent, "Dochitha Lionblaze, first to show the immense perseverance and skill required to make the climb to the op of the Imperial Vanguard and attain the esteemed rank of Myrmidon. Have you words you'd wish to share with all present?"
You clear your throat.
You say in an ear numbing, augmented voice, "I remembered my early days of being a volunteer, having to remember details about combat, charts and answering exams. And then I was exclaimed "Stop, you are dead", when I cluelessly swing about my attacks during the first spar, not realizing that I was one balance away from death. And one time Cyrene was raided, I died, my blood boiled. I started to understand the meaning of becoming the quiet yet resolute gauntlets for our dear Jewel, puts me on my path to train and progress."
You say in an ear numbing, augmented voice, "I appreciate Shield and the Imperial Vanguard. The Imperial Vanguard is ambitious, with Myrmidon at the top requiring tremendous time and practice, never have I thought I would attain, let alone being the first to do so, but I am very glad I did, and very glad Imperial Vanguard is designed such ambitiously, even more amazed with the effective training that has grown me a to be decent defender. I am not Dochitha, without the Shield and Imperial Vanguard."
You say in an ear numbing, augmented voice, "Today as I am standing here, as I hear with Shield Curator, I realize, Myrmidon is not the end of the path. It's a confirmation that I am on the right track, and an encouragement that, I can do better and further. It is a great beginning, for Cyrene and the people. Ever loyal!"
Shirszae smiles warmly as she listens you, pressing her clenched fist in salute to you as you finishes your speech. Shirszae says solemnly in Cyrenese with a faded Kamleikanese accent, "You are truly an example to us
all. Is there anyone else amidst those gathered that would share words about our great Dochitha?"
Keorin nods, stepping taking a few steps forward before turning around to speak.
Keorin says with a faint Arcadian accent, "Though I don't know that I'll be able to match what's been said already, I have a few words as someone who's been able to fight alongside or Myrmidon for many years."
Keorin says with a faint Arcadian accent, "Those who've had the privilege of fighting along side Dochitha know that he's a man of great talents and greater effort. While some might be content to simply learn one craft, he's made it something of a mission to learn as many fighting styles as he can, and has gained more talent for fighting with those techniques then many who specialize in them ever have."
Keorin says with a faint Arcadian accent, "Not only has this made him all the more formidable on the battlefield, but it's helped him to better help our house grow from his efforts. With his knowledge, he's able to help many of our novice defenders better get their start, and many of our cities defenders owe their expertise either to learning from him, or having to stand against him in the arena."
Keorin says with a faint Arcadian accent, "Not only that, but he's also found the time to serve as a leader in the house, in between all the combat he faced to earn this rank, serving for a time as our Shield commander, before stepping down and resuming his heavy personal training. Truly, he's an example of what a Shieldarm should aspire to be."
Keorin offers a quick salute to you, before inclining her head towards Shirszae and returning back to the crowd.
You incline your head politely to Keorin.
With a sharp nod, Shirszae raises the ceremonial staff aloft, banging the butt end on the floor one final time.
Mithrios steps forward, slamming his clenched fist against the chest plate of his armour, holding it there in silent salute.
Aziik steps forward once, his fist rising to his chest as he lowers his head respectfully. The soft clang of his manica sounding lightly.
Draqoom takes a step towards Dochitha, pressing his clenched fist against his chest in honor of his achievement.
Sabetha steps forward, pressing her fist to her chest in acknowledgment of Dochitha.
Keorin steps forward to join the group, pressing her fist against her chest in acknowledgment of you.
Reisha steps forward her hand clenched to her heart as she gazes upon Dochitha with ambition and happiness in her eye!
Draqoom says with a heavy Ulangi accent, "To commemorate your achievement, a Shield in your honor to be placed on the Wall of Shields."
Draqoom drops a shining, ceremonial shield bearing the arms of Dochitha.
Draqoom carefully places a shield bearing the name of Dochitha upon a wall lined with silver shields.
You push slightly on the shield bearing Dochitha's name and lean in to examine it closely:
Shield Myrmidon Dochitha Lionblaze, the Wrecker
Supreme show of persistence and
skill in being the first
to climb to the very
top of the Imperial Vanguard
and reach the rank of
Myrmidon
it bears the arms of Dochitha: Per pale Azure and Argent, a base Vair, a falcon volant dexter chief and a pair of morningstars in saltire sinister chief
You say in an ear numbing, augmented voice, "Dear all, I invite you to PUSH WALL DOCHITHA, to
examine the Shield."
<audience examining the Shield>
Draqoom pushes slightly on one of the shields on the wall, leaning in to examine it.
Smiling warmly as she regards the newly-hanged shield for a long moment, Shirszae abruptly turns back to the audience.
Shirszae says in Cyrenese with a faded Kamleikanese accent, "...As it happens, another one wishes to speak of our Dochitha. Kogan, if you would step forward?"
Kogan says in a gravelly voice, "I did not plan to speak here, but it is not hard to throw some words together that ring true when speaking of Dochitha. He's a rare talent as Keorin stated. His expertise in multiple classes and willingness to always push and excel in each one is awesome. I have witnessed Dochitha refuse to give up. Often dueling someone until he wins. Although it may cost him numerous deaths. Just so he can learn from the experience and be even more capable of defending our great city. He's quite selfless above all else, and this shows in all of his actions. This is a great achievement for him and for the Shield as a House. I think I speak for all of us when I say we are thankful to have Dochitha as a citizen, defender of this city, and a friend."
Kogan takes his place with the audience once again.
You give Kogan a compassionate hug.
Kogan gives you a compassionate hug.
Shirszae says solemnly in Cyrenese with a faded Kamleikanese accent, "And so, a chapter has finished, closed as the new shield takes its rightful place on the wall. And another begins, for a sword who has kept itself honed thorough all this years will surely not fall to rust now. I do sincerely look forward to all the great things the first of our Myrmidons shall do from now." In the wake of her final words, Shirszae slams the butt end of the ceremonial staff one last time
upon the floor, signaling the end of the ceremony.
Great thanks for everyone attending, @Shirszae for the great ceremony, @Draqoom for the Shield, @Roselie and @Krypton for helping with the CoA, @Kogan being honorary guest, the only war aide that wasn't in the Shield, you and @Keorin for speaking highly of me, and entire hugs and congrats from the floor.
A great day for me, Shield Myrmidon, Dochitha Lionblaze, The Wrecker.
Technically happened yesterday, but I passed out because I was DONE!
Your soul cries out in ecstasy as it reaches new heights of power. You have advanced to level 99. You have completed the Ashaxei's Brood resolution! Congratulations! You just received message #222 from Achaea. You just received a group of 15 mementoes! You have reached the illustrious level of Greater Dragon.
Glittering beads of water scatter across the firmament as the gold dragon Draedetha rises from the depths of the Mhojave Desert. Climbing skyward, the dragon gives a thunderous roar, tearing open a rift in the fabric of reality and disappearing into the unknown beyond.
....well. Here I am again. Another big first happened to me today, and I have to admit that I'm a little sad.
I had my first death in Achaea! I was able to achieve Dragonhood without dying. I believe it was the first time I proc'd Soulcage too. Not 100% certain there. A part of me is relieved and a part of me is sad, because I did have some RP planned out for my first death.
In the end, this just means I can go more smorc in the War!

I'm so envious of your reliable internet connection. At least half of my deaths were caused by being soulripped midway through fighting a mob. It happens far less since the advent of serverside curing though.
Normally, I am the face of cheer, humour, let us go out and drink! Enemies or not! But... this last raid was bs, least to me. How in the heck is there supposed to even be a war if with even numbers the enemy runs? I mean, it is not even as though the numbers were mostly those who could not fight. Nyderrasethi, Kiet, Cooper... all pretty darn decent combatants amongst others.
Just saying... this war is supposed to be fun, intense, and something to remember. Not something that makes people think more of retiring and less of returning, you know?

I'm not sure how you would consider that even numbers. We had about 4 people to defend for most of it (who weren't novices/recently returned dormant people). We had 2-3 more in the beginning but people left.
