  • Jumped onto Achaea through the website client when on lunch at work, where I have no aliases or anything set up apart from serverside aliases and curing...

Mithridates enters Hashan, doing who knows what. Yells he's there for peaceful reasons, and proceeds to try to summon me from the Crossroads. Dies to guards.

Then Ryuke and Mazzington appear at southern defendable, smudging the totem. I embed adduction and get Ryuke killed, and Mazzington gets away.

I hop on for half an hour and all this happens, without any combat stuff set up, haha. That was fun.

@Jukilian you really do seem to attract the raiders, don't you? :P
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!"
Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh."
Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

  • Don't know where to put this, but I ran upon Judiel's blog which preserved some logs and stuff about Covenant: http://lostincr.wordpress.com/2006/08/
  • Caught up with this thread.

Sudden panic because someone asked me like three weeks ago to customise their full plate and I totally derped and never sent it to them and now anxiety panic thinking they quietly hate me for it.

Very slight mitigation that the past two days I wrote a limb counter (which someone likes <3) and got some basic values on how to count limbs for myself that makes a lot more sense now.

Figured out secret things in Kei's personal story that had been bothering me. Now just need to be patient and wait for someone else to have time.

Had some fun RP teaching a pair of novices about Mhaldor while Targossas raided.

    ....still panic :disappointed:

So you killed someone AFK and tried to play it off as RP?

Do not give even a slight shit about killing anyone, at all. I realize ego is huge part of people's lives, but just the pure disrespect of the very interaction was awesome as far as RP goes.
  • shut up slaves and get back to work, your gonna make @carmain look bad!
  • Yeah... a slave demanding respect from another slave is kind of lol. If you killed me OUTSIDE OF THE CITY at NoT for being "mindless" I'd have been pretty annoyed with you as well. Know your own boundaries before you force them on to someone else.

Someone sent me this in an unmarked letter:

    hourglassxxxxxx     an unusual hourglass

Finely polished oak caps form the top and base of the hourglass, which stands about one foot tall. The glass emits a blue tint, and appears to be double layered and filled with water. At great contrast to the glass is the flame-coloured red sand confined within it. Sporadic winds ebb and flow in the hourglass, giving rise to small dunes within the miniature desert.
It has 92 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 2 pounds and 0 ounce(s).

You turn the hourglass upside down, temporarily halting the flow of the flame-red sand within.

Your heartbeat increases dramatically, as if in a state of panic. The sand within the hourglass begins to fall at an incredible rate, as if all the grains were made of lead. Soon the abnormal effects cease, but still leave you feeling a bit stiff in your joints.

I am almost certain this is the ruby sand bazaar hourglass that had a mini-event for it almost 2 years ago. I'm so confused by this because I don't remember the hourglass having this long a decay time (it was like 30 months or something) when bought normally and the fact that they're that old at this point suggests someone was keeping it.

    I'm so baffled right now.
Pretty sure those were orbs or globes, and when turned it'd have a heart or an image of the person who bought it. The hourglasses were re-released in some promo (bags maybe?) a while back, and you'll sometimes see them for sale in shops.
What doesn't kill you gives you exp.

  • Holy shit, @Drodak, you need to reel that in. I hope that a forum moderator will delete that kind of statement..

  • I don't care if your House or your City have rules. When you know someone's AFK, it's bad form to abuse it.

If someone is idle in the city and we get raided, and they are used as a point to prism to (hello old subdivision raids of yesteryear @Proficy @Xenomorph ) you bet your ass they are gonna get chewed out/executed IC. Hence why idleness in general is frowned upon.

Now, it's more appropriate to do it when they're around, and no longer idle, but regardless, it's not 'abuse' to punish it, regardless of the temporal nature of said punishment.

Well, there's a difference between consequences for posing a security risk and just taking cheaply advantage of the situation. Here, she was at NoNT apparently.
Also, I would have considered it bad form to abuse said person's AFK moment to infiltrate the city, too. Really goes both ways, and to me it's part of not being a dick to the player who could have had something urgent to attend to. Adding to that aggravation is crappy, at best.

Well yea, the NoT thing is supremely suspect.

However, at a certain point, restraint isn't paramount. The split between OOC/IC idle isn't too big. Daydreaming isn't a valid excuse for standing around in a city like Mhaldor unable to defend yourself.

It's something every novice learns. House Hall protocol. Subdivision security. etc.
