  • Participated in my first skirmish today. Not going to lie, didn't know what was going on through half of it, but it was fun.

Ignoring the people that are just there to cuddle or whatever (of which there are very few left since the city's a lot more radical now), Eleusis is actually not so much 'save the trees' as it is 'overgrow the world', which is pretty interesting imo.

They're more Poison Ivy (the character) than they are greenpeace. Except slightly more accepting of sustainable use.
I'm glad to hear that. I guess a lot of that just never makes it out of Eleusis, to the public posts, or to the forums where I can see it.
I have doubts about the observation in bold. From what I understand, anti civilization Eleusis was sold by a small group of people who wants to go on an offensive against any city at any time to a much bigger group who just wants to do their own forestal rp stuff and remain -defender- of nature(basically old Eleusis). I believe that this bigger group has now swelled the biggest house in the realms to immense size and that this house will continue to remain huge as new players are more likely to associate with Heartwood Idealogy than Scions one when choosing to play a forestal. Same for dormant players waking who wants a storyline that is a continuity with the lives they had in old Eleusis before they went dormant.

Several months ago, the Scions used to be bigger than the Heartwood iirc. A majority of the Eleusian PKers (Darkender, Lothiac, Iakimen, Penwize etc) are dormant though, so while quiet - the Scions still represent a defining aspect of Eleusian ideology.

Gaia's own helpfile says "From atop Her verdant throne, the Wildwood Queen guides Creation toward its ultimate, purified destination: a world ruled by the inclinations of beasts and the whims of the land itself." It definitely did not say that many years ago.

What the majority wants doesn't really matter in Achaea, it's what the loudest characters who make the most waves that ends up shaping the greater stories. That's why Targossas exists even as people said Silas/Rho were a minority.

I suppose the Gaia's quote was given here because her words are supposed to be undebatable scripture? My memory is hazy but I recall reading about how .. I think it was the Druids guild .. ousted Gaia from her position of Patron and that is after many members Disfavoured her(I do not know how that is possible). Forestals then certainly do not take her words as scripture when they do not agree with them. Even more recently we see a very few who would speak out for what they think is right. But times have changed and they are more like to be hit with the Disrespect hammer and receive consequences. If they aren't scripture before, they most certainly are now .. at least on the surface.

As for "What the majority wants doesn't really matter in Achaea", I do not agree in the spirit of it but acknowledged that it might be true in reality. There are many people who are adversed to politics and will try to avoid any sort of conflict especially with the people they share the same community. There will be a few among them who would actually speak out for the majority and find themselves with too little public support from the people they try to represent. So as much as I dislike it, might(and 'loudest') is indeed right.

    Blademaster.

    Got this sword:

Blackened Angel rings out brightly as you rapidly draw it from a scabbard of charcoal leather.

Forged from a pale alloy of the finest steel and copper, this blade exhibits a soft curve along its
length, accentuated by a double groove carved into the metal. The long tang is encased by a grip of
emerald leather in an intricate cross-hatch pattern. Rounding off the grip is a round pommel
fashioned from sapphire, affording perfect balance to this masterfully crafted weapon.

You guys should form a club.

I will just say this, then. If anyone is considering doing it to sound smart/talk down to Nature... don't. Whatever this source is, I remember that happening, and it does not by any means apply to Gaia/Nature now. You'll just make yourself look stupid by mentioning it IG.
