------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Submitted by: You Status : Finalised Skill : Elementalism Ability : Staffstrike ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Problem: Touching a shield tattoo while combating a Magi opponent can make it relatively simple to shut down a Magi's offense momentarily, and especially if the tattoo is utilised repeatedly. Currently the only methods Magi have available to remove shields are Erode, Destabilising Dissonance, and using a Hammer tattoo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solution #1: Make a Magi's Air staffstrike also capable of breaking shields as well as rebounding Solution #2: Solution 1, but also make Holocaust bombs break rebounding auras with the pure heat of the explosion to add to the retinue of offensive abilities capable of removing these defences. Holocaust is already very unpredictable and a double-edged blade Solution #3: . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Decision: We will make earthstrike able to strip shields. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hah, it's not prioritized so if you want to play the defense stripping lottery maybe.
Monk's kind of screwed on the shield department. If they want to waste a trait on it they can do lethal ink in DRS to get a pretty fast hammer tattoo, but that's really not worth it.
I really wish monk had a way to deal with denizen shields, like a raze kick, but oh well.
Having switched from monk to bard, I can say with great authority that cantata is possibly one of the best bashing abilities in the game - strip denizen shields on its own balance.

To be fair I don't think anything besides razeslash is any raze worth using on a mob that shields, since they just typically reshield everytime. Could be wrong but you know.
Should shoot for crush or something to bypass shield instead!

Report #10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Submitted by: You Status : Finalised Skill : Swashbuckling Ability : All ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Problem: Add envenom to the Swashbuckling skill. Bard is primarily an affliciton class, not having envenom in one of its class skills means the bard has to spend around 200 lessons in Weaponry. The precedence for having envenom as part of a class skill is already set as it is part of Chivalry for knights ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solution #1: Add envenom to Swashbuckling Solution #2: Solution #3: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Decision: Solution 1. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Huzzah!

I can't speak for other classes, but raze definitely works for blademasters without being explicitly combined with another ability. Even in sanya stance, I can often raze and attack a mob before they re-shield. It's not 100% effective by any means but it's more so than most classes' "just wait to get hit" method.
Bleeding with insidious grace across the clear skies, particles of ivory and gold drift westwards
towards Cyrene.
The dense cloud of motes gathers fury as it reaches the city, lashes of energy beating down at
ground, a sign of the purest ire of a Divine.
Rich motes of lucent clarity suffuse the skies as the Lightbringer evokes, "City of apathy, your
cowardice has struck a final blow to My patience."
You shut your eyes and concentrate on Thoth, the God of Death. A moment later, you feel inextricably
linked with Death itself.
You have recovered equilibrium. 1.989s
Rich motes of lucent clarity suffuse the skies as the Lightbringer evokes, "For the blows given to
Mine, so would those responsible pay the price for such treachery, for Cyrene is a city that would
spit in the face of Benevolence. How far do you wish to fall into your dark pit, oh city of lies and
iniquity?"
Rich motes of lucent clarity suffuse the skies as the Lightbringer evokes, "Good shall prevail, when
Cyrene lies in squallor, your fetid greed a surety of your downfall."
Great, luminous sparks scatter through the air as @Verrucht is torn apart by the radiant ire of Light.

Also, I don't play Shaman, so the solution they chose may make perfect sense, but it sounded a little silly to my sleep deprived mind last night. >.>
What solution 3?
This made me happy.
