Edit: For all those unaware: Displace is only stopped by not being in the area of the alchemist, or having a monolith down -before- it starts.
Dropping a monolith -during- ether displace doesn't help, it only prevents future displace attempts.
Displace also can finish if you return within the 10s or so, as shown. And flying doesn't stop displace, unlike grove summon which works in a similar manner.
