  • 2H Runewarden would be the cheapest and best option for some of the reasons Antonius' mentioned.

From what I remember, unartied DWC's hunting dps was noticeably less than 2H, which I'd reckon compensates for 2H's inability to hit/run with the longer balance and DWC's higher crit rate at the higher levels.

Oh yeah, perma-runes are extremely useful for your friend's "won't stop, cannot stop" personality type when it comes to bashing. Even on my end, I'm rly bored of SnB but disinclined to switch to Bard because I'd lose perma-runes in Dragonform.

More of a technical question but anyone know how to avoid using the windowed screen when editing a letter while using Mudlet?
You can paste or type w/e directly into your command line in mudlet. You just have to pay attention to the commands found in *help when in the editor.

@aquil Paladin Hunting Is silly good with full plate and 2h.  The battle rage abilities are amazing (regeneration is silly w/ multiple mobs, and the soul fire can hit critical strikes, up to six I believe -- I've wsc a slug dead with just soul fire for example) plus hands, revit, and healing rite are amazing.  Now I'm artied a little but I can't see the healing ability + resist to be far off from a rune warden even minus runes.  I haven't tried anything other then 2h, but I find it fast and very very rarely die. Just my 2 cent :)
Imagine it depends what you're fighting. 55% blunt and cutting plus another 10 from algiz and 20 from bulwark are not to be scoffed at. Add in Uruz and Berkana for regeneration and I think they're probably about even at average level before you hit 90 and imagine your burn tick ability gets ridiculous cause crits

Edit: I honestly think of bulwark ad a healing ability just cause I end up taking so little damage I regeneration more than I recieve

Bard has Tune that does the same thing as Algiz, though I don't remember if they still stack (leaning towards no). Dragon has enough health and racial damage resistances to not really need Algiz for hunting, and if you're an artied Bard there's almost no reason to ever hunt as a Dragon anyway; Algiz shouldn't be working as Dragon for PvP, even if your lesserform class is Runewarden, as far as I know (I'd consider it a bug if it does). Obviously Algiz won't work for PvP as Bard, but again, Tune is the same thing.

Jera is nice, but you can definitely live without it; the strength is a minimal increase in bashing damage and Aria will give you more health than a point of constitution (though harder to keep Aria up for PvP, since you're using voice balance for your offense). Berkana's not bad, but it's only one level of health regen. If you want to use harmonics as Bard, Continuo is 15% of maximum health on a 10 second tick, if I recall correctly (for comparison, berkana is an extra 2-3% of health regen, also on a 10 second tick).

Just tested, and tune and algiz do stack, although from the tests, it looks like diminishing returns (Only took 8% less damage after algiz while having tune).
  • Pretty sure 8% for non-Runewardens is standard even without any other resist all defences. I vaguely recall it being lowered in the past.
  • @Israyhl Ah good call. Did not occur to me. Much obliged :)
  • AhmetAhmet Wherever I wanna be
Pretty sure algiz is 10%. Tune and algiz both being 10% would mean around 19% reduction, less if you had other defenses that counted as resists as well, so your 8% makes sense.
    Huh. Neat.
  • I still prefer Dragon's dragonarmour/high hp pool + algiz since I probably won't invest in a Cape. Bard's leather armour and lower hp pool (even with tune) doesn't cut it for me. I'm close to 8k hp with Aria iirc

Algiz is 10% for a Runewarden, 8% for any non-Runewarden, and doesn't affect PvP damage if you're not Runewarden. Changed back when people were stacking resists to become immune to physical damage.

Ah, missed the non-runewarden bit. My bad D:
    Huh. Neat.
  • Question to people who email the customisations email. What's the normal response time on that?

    got gud
  • 2-12 hours in my experience. Depends on the time of day. Expect longer response time during holidays and such.
  • KayeilKayeil Washington State
Agree with Sena. Generally very fast, other than holidays and sometimes weekends.
What doesn't kill you gives you exp.

  • How do you upgrade a set of artefact armour from the 2 embrasure rondel to 3 embrasure rondel? Do you just ARTEFACT UPGRADE <armour>? Or can you remove the rondel and upgrade it?
  • Rondels don't have an upgrade path (even if they're not in a suit of armour). You upgrade the armour, same as you would any other artefact.

When you say it doesn't affect PvP damage, are we looking at a specific type of damage? The tests I did to come to the 8% conclusion was from @Nataliia overhanding me several times and watching the change in numbers.

Should be all damage types/sources of damage from other players. From Announce #4125:

    Runelore
    --------
    * ALGIZ will no longer reduce damage from other players for non-runelorists.

If it's reducing damage again, that's probably a bug, because there's no announced changes to it since then.

I used to get email responses by the next day but that was back when Phaestus was kicking ass at it.  Haven't submitted anything since the new automation system, until recently... 3.5 days ago, to be exact - a simple nondecay request on an instrument case from a really old bazaar.  Still no response.  Hopefully they're just on vacation.

Expect a few days wait, they just had the auctions and the people with custom descriptions are probably getting priority.

Potentially helpful: you only need the item in your inventory to -create- the customisation request. As soon as you CUSTOMISATION CREATE NEW FOR <item> you can throw it back into storage until it's time to take care of it, then just go grab it and complete once it's approved. -Incredibly- good for when you have that item with 1-2 months left before decay.

It depends on the complexity, but 7 seems excessive for most customisations. If this is an in-game request through the customisation system, it may be worth checking that you didn't miss it being approved; you get a message when it's approved, but if you're currently logged in it's not accompanied with an actual message through the messaging system. Also worth checking that you did actually remember to CUSTOMISATION SUBMIT #.

Yeah, a few people have mentioned it being excessive. I check it every few hours in case I miss the line coming up. Issued myself about it in case it just fell by the wayside by accident.

If the customisation has been approved it's supposed to change from SUBM to APPR or something right? :S I mean, even if you don't see a message you should see it's ready to be completed

Items with an open customisation request on them won't be destroyed when the decay timer hits 0, though the months remaining will still tick down. I'm not sure what happens if the customisation is rejected though (because your custom description needs revising for example), so if something is close to decaying I'd separate any description/reaction customisations from nondecay/resetting just in case.
