Anyone know if there is ever going to be another auction for super cool rare items?  I can't tell you the last time I can remember seeing one,  so I  kinda feel like they might have stopped. .

There was a comment on another IRE game forums about auctions not being a preferred monthly promotion due to the trouble they usually have with the items themselves as well it doesn't generate much income as it's a couple of people buying the credits and the other rely on already paid for escrow.

I've never heard of it mentioning damage reduction before. I don't have any logs of it before 2008 though, so I can't be sure.

To properly customise a Magi staff, what customisations do you need?  Is it enough to add a custom description, or must you also add resetting and nondecay?

you -could- customise the appearance without nondecay/resetting. But it'd just decay on you, resulting in basically wasted credits.
so generally best to get resetting/nondecay aswell

You need nondecay at least.  I would recommend resetting, though, just for theft concern, or the denizens that steal an item when they kill you.  Also,  I recommend doing that part first, then doing the description, so there is no chance the item number changes (staves have a short decay time).

Edit: everyone always answers while I am typing. .to be fair, my staff was a result of a ritual/gift from someone, so I honestly don't know. .

A quick one to confirm how tradeskills work:

Adventurer Bob picks up Gathering and Harvesting. He then forgets Harvesting and picks up Synthesis. Will Synthesis be treated as a second tradeskill?

Yes.  So you wont have to pay extra for another tradeskill spot.

So I've been wandering around the furniture showroom in Delos. I noticed that the jarrah wood I selected in the past for my furniture are no longer materials you can use, but has now been replaced with eucalyptus wood. Is this something that gets changed once every so often?

If so, that's pretty cool and it should continue!

 Not knowing what jarrah wood was, I googled it and found it via wikipedia: "Eucalyptus marginata is one of the most common species of Eucalyptus tree in the southwest of Western Australia. The tree and the wood are usually referred to by the Aboriginal name jarrah"

So it's more than likely that it's a different name for the same wood!

I originally idea'd for jarrah wood to be accepted and most of the furniture in my house was made of jarrah wood. I'd rather have jarrah wood since that's what actually used in furniture and not the scientific term for it. Most eucalyptus wood by default is white, jarrah is a red.

I think dropping the net will release them, unless that was changed.

That's what I thought, but it seems to no longer work. I left the net sitting on the ground for several minutes, but it retained all of its butterflies.

EDIT: Ah, I figured it out. It's RELEASE BUTTERFLIES. Now I have to catch them all again.

I know logging out used to cause you to drop the net and release all the butterflies. It's possible that logging out is a necessary part of that, and just dropping it alone won't work. Or if it was actually changed so they never get free on dropping, then I don't know of another way.

@Tecton When we were discussing additional artefact creation, it got me thinking. Now that armour statistics are standardized-ish, can we look forward to artefact armour being brought back/created?

Logging out does drop them all. I just found that out.

Dude tell me about it, same exact situation. @Sarapis that's kind of disappointing considering this is the response I got when I was desperately trying to find a way to customize my fullplate, given that my situation was the same as Kenway's -

2387*      Tecton  1/06/23:27  If you're dead-set on custom armour, we'll probably have artefact armour available in the future. 

While that's not confirmation, the above doesn't exactly imply that you guys had no plans for it.
