Raid Fails

My all time favorite raid moment was when Mizik, me, Tanris, Dunn and a handful of other people I can't remember (the raids all blend together) were skirmishing with Shallam and getting owned by arrows. I think it was Dunn and I who stepped out of LoS to heal up when I see Mizik's deathsight so I emp him to us. He is deffing up and then notices us and says, "What are you guys doing here?" He then realizes where we are and starts cussing us out for summoning him back into combat. 

He had raido'd to the flame upon burst and didn't notice I had summoned him, so he thought we were at the flame with him. He then immediately starts getting sniped and dies. I almost pissed my pants I was laughing so hard.

"What are you guys doing here?"

So, I have this bad practice to rush when it's just a stupid thing to do. I'm aware of it, yet the habit creeps back in from time to time, and I don't realize it until after we are all dead. Due to this, I try to remind myself not to rush like a dumbass, with varying results.

So, a couple of months ago, I led a defense and actually thought to myself "stop a room away and call for beckon/LoS", and I stopped one room away. I was so proud of myself... That is, until I got adducted due to forgetting to put mass on keep up.

Everyone died, I apologized to the party, and spent the rest of the night feeling guilty.

One time I came back from being afk in just enough time to travel to Eleusis and drop holocausts on mainly my group while they were in retard.  In retardation, like space, nobody can hear you scream (because you are too busy doing other things).  I think Hasar was telling me to stop, but I close my eyes when we raid Eleusis.

I remember that! I also remember when I earringed out at the last second on Alchemist displace to Mhaldor while in Targossas.... when Bambizlo empressed me back in at literally the last half second before it went through. I died on guards instantly haha

When raiding with Magi Terra when she was Ashtani, we're raiding Shallam.

We're E of clouds, Shallam earrings or rushes to NE of us, to back-beckon, I evade NE, evade NE, prepare to snipe them from behind while our group puts and icewall up.

Terra lands, embeds retard to prevent them from running. Shallam decides to try and snipe me, hit by 4 arrows in surprise retard.

Dead.

Micositu evaded into our room during a raid, took some hits, evaded east, I lunged, evaded back west, I lunged, and then evaded into the
GIANT GROUP OF MHALDORIANS WITH TOTEM AND RETARD.

So now I have an alias to turn that set of triggers off.

Oh Lunge.... How many times you have landed me in an enemy group. I actually, in an effort to save keys, made one macro send Lunge as well as Impale. Works 100% fine in duels. Then on day I was still Kai-ing one of our monks outside the gates and the enemy jumped on us. The monk, being the first target, got hit a few times but managed to move north into the city. Of course, because I watch series while raiding, I did not realise this and hit that impale/Lunge macro one more time.....

Yeah... So my first attempt to drop retardation and get out...

For some reason my jester folder was enabled, and it's below the Magi folder. So "tumble" became "somersault" and "hailstorm" became "handspring". Feelin super stupid.

Everytime I lead a raid defence.

Well, I usually end up dead on contact regardless of whether I lead anyway. I don't know why I bother showing up to defend anymore. You guys always focus me first. Why? I'm not even artied Stahp guys, stahp. I wanna stab people too !_!

Uh... yeah, I can't really think of any raid fails... I mean, Cyrene either gets roflstomped, or we can actually pull off a gling rush successfully. So... half of the outcomes are fails by default.

Set up for a raid. System spamming me with "need to hide" defense. Evade east while in enemy city to re-hide. 5 Ashtani corsair are here? Hmm. Evade back west into raid party.

I just went down with the ship. My mistake - I'll die with all the people that I just got killed.  Was in lesserform trying to futilely land a garrote on a guard.

I know plenty of those guys are very new as well, some not even tri-trans and pretty low levels. At least they are out getting raid experience. Can't learn if you don't try.

Thanks for giving it a go. It'd be nice to see Mhaldor get some newer raiders so that we're not only ever fighting Ashtan.

First raid ever was a humongous fail. I failed so much we won. I even got CFed for having the courage to continue living after such a fail.

Context: I have been dormant for 7 RL years, just logged back for the first time, got my citizenship sorted out about an hour earlier, and installed svo/mudlet mapper in a hurry.

Tesha calls me and says: "Serpent! We need you to get us into Mhaldor, here's the room you have to get us in." Promptly, I def up, summon my asp, and phase. Then I autowalk to the room, without evading, so I trigger mindnet, and everybody can see me walk around Mhaldor because of, y'know, asp following me... But the door is magically locked shut, lolwut? I unphase on guards, get killed swiftly.

Then I try again, same thing, with asp following me. I think Alcinae spotted the asp or something, and I get eye-sigiled back into guards. Instant death. Only, I hadn't reached the room yet, and the mapper kept spamming the goto when I came back from the cave. I was desperately searching for a way to stop the autowalk, and alas, I didn't find out how... and it autowalked me into the totem to die.

And again.

Mhaldor was so busy laughing their ass off, watching me die and all, that the Targossian party got in while they chased me, and destroyed a good 5 rooms and dusted about 3 shrines.

Then Tesha looked at me, and she remarked: "Did you... go into Mhaldor naked?", to which I almost blushed myself back to Toth's Cave. I suppose that's what we call a crash course in Achaea.

One day I qq'd to go to work, and apparently at some point there was a time reset and I got logged back in.. then Shallam got raided.. and I got radienced.. and ressed.. and radienced and ressed.. and when I got home from work I'd lost 6-7 levels. Damn 18 year old tri trans fully artied priests..

I've been known to defend via phone, which in all honesty is a terrible idea but at least Hashan has my moral support!(and runes)
