Hi all - first post here. Joined really just to ask... how the hell do I not die to this?!
It's a dragon + blademaster. I've had this happen a lot to me, and I've thought about it, but I can't see of way in which I can escape from it... any thoughts? I'm at a loss.
On the equilibrium of my one angel aura (of which, I am nimble - so faster EQ recovery) - Tirac as able to prone me and also impale me before I get equilibrium back. Am I missing something?! Is this normal?!
I see also my tree ran out - which would have helped with sensitivity, but I probably just would have died on the next round... appreciate some feedback.

@eleison sendAll("ct deliver", "ct gods, deliver me from this paintrain!", "ct HELP ME PLEASE", "ct I will be dead soon Targossas. May the Bloodsworn look after you more closely than they did me.")
Honestly, there's really nothing you could have done that would have perfectly saved you outside of:
1) Being deliverable
2) Having an earring partner close by
3) Putting up Justice and begging on some weird RNG tic that killed either one of them from full health
4) QQ Priest and go Serp for that evade
It's not reasonable to expect to survive, let alone escape two well-known, well-coordinated, combat-weathered individuals that can earring to one another.
Don't use aura or shield against a blademaster (from a general PoV). They can raze rebound/shield and strike at the same time in a sub two second balance time. If you want to escape, earring/pilgrimage/ask for deliver/refuge/buy a lyre/use teammates etcetera. The tactic can be used by quick Knights too, but it's harder to follow up with an impale.
When you're ganked 2 vs 1 by two dragon-level artied combatants as classes with good synergy, it isn't going to be simple to survive and rightly so imo
@Eleison you got out, but instead of running you put up a shield. That was your biggest mistake - should have just kept running. You might have gotten away if you had!
It isn't really any 2v1 scenario that's unrealistic to survive, it's typically just blademaster + whatever. That said, I don't remember if you can refuge from up north, but if you can, running several rooms and closing a door/refuging might give you enough time. Keep rebounding up so he has to raze twice when you shield, mount so he has to dismount, re-shield when he razes it, and angel drain when you finally get prone/impaled. Make sure empathy at the very least is up, empathy is godly.
But to escape from Aran'riod, you will want to run towards Tenwat (south of the wilderness exit and east). There are many nooks and crannies to duck into, and lots of wilderness entrances. Enter wilderness/touch shield should give you time unless he tracks the moment you hit that room.

I didn't run further because my hamstring was broken, so he would have got a lunge off before I got a chance to move rooms - shield would be the only thing that stopped it.
Dead right. It was - but the fact that he can prone + impale before I can regain earlier equilibrium from an earlier shield touch, in combination with the bite, seems rough to me...
PS - I don't have riding or a mount - why would this have helped? Avoiding attacks?
GTFO out of the room and refuge. You actually lived a pretty long time and it was hardly a perfectly executed gank
It seems pretty close to perfect to me. The relevant factor, for me at least, is not the "time spent alive" but it's the complete impossibility (to me) of escaping that makes the death inevitable. Few other class combos can keep me down so effectively (instead relying on a random tick - like with grave hands/piety), while still doing good damage + setting up for a friend, with no pre-setup cost time (e.g. vibes harms gravehands).
BTW - Refuge doesn't work that far from prime, but in any event, is hella slow. It'd be a close one if I could pull it off, but yeah, that was the only strategy I thought feasible, but sadly, not possible here.

Rebounding was up from the start, and perfectly put back up - but it looks like slash knees/hamstring goes through it?
Also - yes, love empathy. But I still don't see how it would have helped much if I can't get away!
RE: Drain - it would have given me a very minor health boost (less than , only to face another bite - i.e. not worth it, based on the EQ loss time). I'd have ended up just as dead as you can't stand when off EQ.
Cheers for the running south advice, haven't explored that side!

Missed this one! Agreed on most of it - but what else do I do? Tumble = dead, shield = delaying death a little. I can't web people with buckawns. Priests can't give paralysis or any form of hindering offence, so offensive is out of the question... can't see another option than run (but hamstrings broken!) or shield + pray or heartstop. The latter seems most appealing the more I look at the log.
Not disputing what's right or wrong, just thinking how the hell do I avoid this, even a 10% chance, in future!

Starburst is for wimps. Real men die for real. Don't get me started on cage.
LOL. Says the priest that can bedevil out of any affliction setup or sip/hands/potash all at once. You're a walking Staff of Nicator as far as damage mitigation goes. Like the attitude though.
Blademasters can't lunge and the hamstring affliction doesn't prevent movement, it just delays it by around a second. The idea when being ganked by two artied combatants with good class synergy is to get away from them. Fighting back is useless, and delaying your death seems pointless if you're trying to survive. The advice given is on point for the most part
What Mizik said for the mount, being mounted makes hamstring not affect you, but on the flipside you can't mount while hamstring'd but having to dismount and prone you, he would've needed to add more than just strike knees, he would have had to hamstring/feet, and then knees for prone, plus I didn't even see the part where you shielded then he razed/proned, impaledv(although against a blademaster that does happen a lot on long balance or eq abilities such as shield) That was far from a perfectly executed gank, the fact you even moved 1 room away shows that. And Tirac hit rebounding/shield like 3 times, and Xer hit parry, I didn't even see any voidfist, for shame, you could have gotten away if you would have ran instead of shield, because yeah BM doesn't have lunge! Just engage
EDIT: I'm noob so don't listen to me, thats just my take on it.
You guys are dumb, Bedevil that shit Hamstring will hit the Blademaster, because Bedevil is border line broke to start with, as for Xer+Tirac they're going to be impossible to actually kill since Tirac's going to impale your every 2-3 seconds you try to do anything.. So running away is your only option here.
Also for the record using voidfist in ganks isn't really a good idea imo unless the person your ganking with has super hindering, Fists have the second slowest balance out of the entire blademaster kit, and it's only a chance to stop curing. With Blademasters afflicting speed you can easily just keep stacking Paralyze while someone else locks them for the most part. (Plus the .5 second stun never hurt anyone.
Don't make us bring back old A-Team propaganda. Ring of flying necessary to join A-Team. 1.8 sec flight? No Wildgrowth, Tentacles, Pinshot, Hamstring, flying mount to whistle back down? Fliiiiight?

First up: thanks for the advice. Appreciate the help - the takeaway though seems to be: die or get outside help.
Few quick responses:

I'm not saying monk isn't! Dat Kaiheal tho. Just saying Priest is next best, easily, especially because they can heal afflictions better

So...how the hell do you get away from a homunculus if they can stop any movement, mountjump, flying and duanathar?
Seems pretty imbalanced, but maybe there is something I'm missing.
