It's (usually) really easy when people let you get a level 2 torso break.

You pump out at Jonesey with a powerful side kick.
You unleash a powerful hook towards Jonesey.
You unleash a powerful hook towards Jonesey.

No "connects" message, no parry, etc.  == max limb damage.  Also, I sat there comboing his torso like 5 times prior to the log excerpt.
  • Level 2 being the second out of three levels of limb breakage, where the first level doesn't exist regarding torso.
    image
  • My torso hit counter rolled over, in case anyone noticed that.  I don't use it much.

Been working on fixing svo's lack of heartseed curing. Came up with a much better way of handling it until I ran into this... Is it a bug or is it the intended behavior?
Notice how the first diag shows heartseed and no torso damage. Then after a breaking hit to torso I diag again to confirm torso damage.
The first reconstructive apply was without a doubt an attempt to cure heartseed but ended up curing torso instead - which svo, for whatever reason, refused to acknowledge.

I'm not a combat expert so, please, enlightened ones, share your wisdom on how this may or not seem kind of silly here.

    1) Resto applications cure 4s after the application.
    2) Torso is cured before heartseed.
    3) Doesn't matter if you apply when you had no torso damage because the cure happens 4 seconds later (see point 1).

Not actually sure what you're asking, that's expected behaviour, and has nothing to do with svo.

edit: the only possible thing I can see that svo is doing wrong is registering the torso cure as heartseed cure, and thinking you still have broken torso rather than heartseed. I don't know if you normally prioritise epteth over heartseed or not so I can't be sure on that.
  • Ah, hey, people actually finding out how a skill works. This was described in the post about heartseed too, if you've actually read it.
  • You guys are missing the point, I think.  @Strata is not arguing how it's cured game-wise, he's asking why SVO didn't recognize that his torso was cured.  After his torso break is cured, his prompt tracker for afflictions still says it's broken:

[TARGET APPLY] Twil applied a salve to skin.
    5324h/80%h, 75%m, 100%e, 93%w (Twil) [-0:(T)] 40.7% cexkdb[la1 bld(113) heart t1]-
Your torso feels stronger and healthier.
You may apply another salve or balm to yourself.
    5324h/80%h, 74%m, 100%e, 93%w (Twil) [-0:(T)] 40.7% cexkdb[la1 bld(113) heart t1]-(apply renewal to arms)
    You eat a potash crystal.
You feel your health and mana replenished.
    5855h/88%h, 82%m, 100%e, 93%w (Twil) [-0:(T)] 40.7% cexkdb[la1 heart t1]

  • Yeah I edited after but originally took it to be the patented Shadowsnakes special heartseem victim card being played. My bad if I misinterpreted @Strata.
  • StrataStrata United States of Derp
Correct. I wasn't asking about a bug in the game. Was wondering why, when "Your torso feels stronger and healthier." did svo not register torso cured.
The renewal to arms was because of priority. Yes, noobed, but my point remains.
  • That's a mistake on the systems part
  • It probably has to do with diagnosing while something is in the process of being cured.

  • Nah, I forgot to link up heartseed curing something else than intended to other things it could have cured.

I had no idea there were there.  I hit the retardation and assumed I was about to die, until I saw the arrows hitting you instead of me.  However, I'm guilty of cherry-picking.  I don't feel that bad since you literally had all 6 limbs prepped when they showed up.

I am still trying to figure out how my severe internal trauma 18str BBT did < 50% damage to Jonesey, while my zero torso damage BBT on Strata did 64%.

Assuming scales is 15% off, I'm lost as to why dragon armor/resist is -that- badass.

I'd love to see Tekura damage tweaked downward, but at the same time, it's already nearly impossible to beat artied and/or dragon top-end players, as a monk.  The only thought that comes to my mind would be to lower Tekura damage, but lower dragon armor signifantly more.
  • Did you bother to check Jonesey for runes and a tf? Because he had them.

Its actually very easy to kill dragons and top tier combatants (artied) as a monk. You just have to know what you're doing. Here's a hint. It takes more than a quad break, bbt and axe kick. If you want more than that, learn the class. Maybe then you'll stop complaining that artied monks don't need skill to win.

Not sure why you're being so aggressive, but so far, as far as I can tell, artied monk is considerably easier than I initially imagined.

So far I've only found two people that can beat me in a 1v1 fight (@Lothiac and @Exelethril)*. And Kross, at no point did I say that monk can't beat dragons ("nearly impossible", with TFs and runes), I was just posting a log of something I thought was impossible, tanking two severe trauma BBTs.

    * I am not claiming to be special or amazing. I am saying that artied monk -is- ridiculously OP, primarily thanks to slow prepping with shield tattoo and Kai cripple. It takes me about 12-30 seconds to prep someone, at which point, if they don't have an icewall, they die. Every single time. The only time they don't is when I die to bees/thorntend first, or someone brings 3+ mounts in the arena where they cannot die.
