Thought I'd share some screenshots.
My current project: The Hall. The Great Hall, maybe even.
I just finished one row of pillars.
Each Pillar is made of Quartz Pillar blocks. Here's some maths to show you how long this is probably going to take:
Each pillar is 18 high, and 2x2.
Therefore each pillar requires 72 Quartz blocks.
Each row is 11 pillars long.
Each row is therefore 792 Quartz blocks.
4 rows in total for the Hall.
Therefore 3168 Quartz blocks are needed in total to do this entire Hall.
I made this small wooden house in the village where all my friends have built.
If you go inside you are met with pressure plates just inside the door, and a drop directly in front of you. If you happen to rush in, you'll fall.
Where you are then met with a dark tunnel, leading out to a lit area... (dogleg tunnel was necessary cause I couldn't put my house where I wanted it to be to make it a straight line in... at least it makes it darker!)
Which then opens up to this! Which leads out to my 'Great Hall'.
Look from the Hall towards the entryway:

And so I begin! Decided that this time I'm going to use Buildcraft power exclusively, at least at the start. Going to challenge myself to use things that I'm not as familiar with and try to setup a working world. I'm also going to use buildcraft piping and so on, to wean myself off AE.

I finally came across an ancient ruin - carved from sandstone at the edge of a desert. I barricaded the doorways as the sun sank over the horizon. I lit torches, and the ancient markings along the walls were clear to be an ancient civilization - one that revered the dead, and the Creepers I had split in half with my makeshift stone weapon throughout my journey.
Sections of the sandstone floor were covered with luxurious fabric - digging them out revealed a deep, hidden chasm. I broke through, and carefully laid a ladder down to reveal an ancient burial chamber. In each casket was rotting meat and bone, iron and gold. I felt a twinge of guilt as it gathered what valuables were in each chest, but the dead had no use for -

Shit.
I leap up and catch the ladder, hoisting myself up just before the explosion shook the sandstone flooring. My feet lost their footing on the ladder, but my hands held tight to the rungs as I glanced down - there was an explosion, and the numbness in my feet made it clear that the shock of the blow should have taken my feet off, but the sandstone flooring remained intact - as I was intact.
I stumbled down to the sandstone flooring, and violently pry my pickaxe between the pressure plate and the ground, ripping it free and breaking the stone just beneath...And around it.
Dynamite. An entire layer of it, intended to obliterate anyone who would steal from the dead. And, miraculously, the explosion that occurred just beneath my feet did not set off every block of TNT underneath the floor.
Perhaps it was sheer, stupid luck. Perhaps some strange spirits chose to protect me from the ill-fated trap from the distant past. I took it as a sign, and began to dig.
The meat from the dead who would destroy me will be fed to the dogs. Their bones will be ground to bring new life to the desert, and their tomb will be the seat of my new oasis.
shown is an xp farm, cocoa farm, iron farm and gold farm. I realise now, I kinda overdid it a bit, as I also have inside a mushroom farm, cacti farm, sugarcane farm, cobble gen, charcoal gen, tree farm, netherwart farm, vine farm, brewing factory, pumpkin farm, melon farm, beef/leather farm. I just finished this ice farm below.
Aaand, on the rail ride to this place, you'll see my current project: A witch farm (For unlimited redstone, glowstone, sticks, bottles, gunpowder, etc)
Progress so far:
For those of you familiar with Magical Crops, the bottom level is 194 Minicio crops, with the entire + of water covered in Lilypads of Fertility. One more in the center of each 7x7 area and some spaced around the edges, and you get a lot of boosted growth on crops. Add onto that that the next level (barely started here) will get the boost from the Lilypads below it? Hell yeah.

Also, you can barely see it to the right, but my power system is evolving. Ex Nihilo Crucibles melting cobble to feed into Lava Generators. Cobble melt speed is 1x with a torch, 2x with lava, and 7x(!!) with Liquid Pyrotheum. I'm replacing all my lava with the latter currently, and I suddenly have way too much lava to use until I upgrade all my generators.
