I've been working on some cool stuff for the realms server, notably a new spawn area and some "quests". By quests I mean I'm scattering around secret chests / dungeons, and leaving clues on where to find them.
Admittedly, the ocean monuments of 1.8 brought me back to Minecraft and I turned it into an underwater village on a single player map. So much fun.
I'm not a super regular player, but I wouldn't mind taking a peek, @Aktillum, if you don't mind adding rainspren.
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to? You will never find that [everlasting] life for which you are looking. When the gods created man they allotted to him death, but life they retained in their own keeping. As for you, Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day, dance and be merry, feast and rejoice. Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water, cherish the little child that holds your hand, and make your wife happy in your embrace; for this too is the lot of man."
The bad news is that I may have summoned an Ender Dragon, thinking it'd be cool to have a dragon flying around the world.
The good news is that the realms server now has a bit of RP background, having recently suffered devastating destruction at the hands of a block-smashing dragon

So I've been trying to get minecraft to work on Win8.1 and I've run into a problem.
When switching to my big screen tv as a monitor, the moment the game loads and I'm playing, the controls start freaking out. When I try to look, it forces me to look straight up or down and walking is a slow process.
When I switch to my tv, I use a wireless keyboard/mouse combo (not bluetooth). When I'm not using my tv, I just have my laptop keyboard and the wireless mouse which works fine.
Has anyone else had a problem like this?
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.
THIS GAME STILL EXISTS? nvm not enough time to play that alongside achaea and my studies

I played a Landmark beta weekend the other day. It was pretty awesome. Pretty much Minecraft but smaller voxels and you also have a lot more power over voxel shape and size allowing much finer details. The stuff people are creating is amazing!

I have been having this problem whenever I start up minecraft. So I stopped trying to play. I have no idea why.
I thought it was because something else on my computer was interfering with the program but idk.

I use my tv as my primary computer monitor, and have never had this issue. Switching over to a tv based monitory instead of a computer monitor wouldn't change your controls or anything like that. The only issue you might encounter would be display based. So it's likely something else causing it.
I don't know who all is still playing this, and on what version/server, but I'm in the process of launching a fully public server that you all are more than welcome to join when it goes live. Right now just setting things up and making sure everything runs properly. It will be a 1.7.10 mostly Vanilla Survival server. When Bukkit updates (I really hope they still update), it'll move to 1.8 and if necessary the map will expand, but right now there's going to be a ton of room.

To each their own. I just find the mods more interesting than vanilla after playing it so long.
don't get me wrong @Kazu, I like the mods too, the only downside I found about some mods (mainly the magic, industry etc mods) is that they made everything so easy and non-challenging to the point where you, yourself had the urge to add new mobs and tune them per zone for difficulty

@Tharvis That's fair. I don't think the industry mods were too bad honestly, as long as you ban the high end armor in them. They typically don't have weapons like the magic ones do. However, I'm biased on that subject as I've always been more of a fan of the tech mods over magic.
Well this one's already been bumped up to 1.8, and there are a lot of things you can still do in Vanilla with command blocks. If anyone's interested, just let me know or go here: KaiserKraft. It has a whitelist until Bukkit updates.

Add me too? Averi_Solstrale
I forget if I'm already added or not.
