there is now a booze ender chest (3 brown) that I will supply with Rum( @Kresslack ) for as long as my storage lasts
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
removed the booze ender chest, went "fuck it" and built a complete bar at spawn.

without further ado, I present to thee, the Eventide Alehouse

So, I got this up and running after a whole lot of issues with phase pipes and energy bridges and everything being really really horrible to deal with. So here it is, the Remote Power Core Mark I:
9 HV Solar Arrays into 3 MFSUs into 3 HV Consumers into an Energy Bridge into a BC Producer. The overkill on solar arrays is to ensure those 3 MFSUs can charge from nothing to full in a single day, and combined they can last through a night -> day of rain -> night cycle. So, how much power are we expecting out of this?
It might not seem like too horribly much, but that's I get a bit more than that output. For some reason the energy bridge is fickle and only draws that much regularly, but the 9-10 outputs all pulling 100 MJ+ begs to differ. First issue I came across was that the energy bridge only kind of put out power sometimes sorta. It was dumb. I had to give it a 100% constant source of draw, so that's where this came in:
12 Redstone Energy Cells. This was the amount that could be set to 100 MJ input and output and not lose any power, assuming the energy bridge was getting full input. Sweet, so just a phase pipe and some gold conductive pipes on the other side and we're good to go right?
Wrong. Apparently gold conductive pipes will just cycle energy through themselves constantly, only putting out a fraction of the power necessary to run even the simplest thing. This was my solution. 12 Phased Conductive Pipes all tuned to the same frequency, send only mode. The only remaining problem I've come across is that a single phased conductive pipe input is around 150 EU/t, but I can sustain a -ton- of them. So, how to power the bigger draws on the network (Huge ME network is the only thing that's beaten a single pipe so far)? Triple loop of doom:
Those four gold pipes in a loop prevents them from exploding if the draw stops, and the + configuration allows 3 BC Consumers to hook up and provide super power to a single cable. You could technically add two more BC Consumers if there was a massive draw, but that's unnecessary. In tests, a quarry powered by a single phased conductive pipe mines at what appears to be max speed, completing a 60 block sweep in just under 9 seconds.
In the very near future I'm planning to make a second copy of this, tune it the same, and set every phased conductive pipe to public. I'll still be on this network, but anyone will be free to hook up and enjoy the benefits of near-limitless power.

I don't think so, I don't have any lights in my base.
There are some RP2 Solar Panels ~5-6 blocks away, but that's the only thing even remotely close. It's all in a 'planter' of sorts I made for beginning crossbreeding on the roof of my giant room.

it's possible the crops actually require a water source block to be one square off

(lol, pls don't, took me effing ages. And I want to finish it and put a nuclear reactor in the middle :P)
haha no worries, it'd be a non-fireable cannon, not like those on halos's base, but more along the lines of... omgsomanyblockswhydidievenstartbuildingthis

just build the USS enterprise and it's all good :P
oh dear god. @Kazu will hate me if I build that full size with permanently working monitors and everything.

I found out about minecraft when I visited some family in California last summer.. Been kind of wondering if I wanted to try it ever since. You guys make it sound so fun hmm!
Each of the three boxes on the bottom level are setup the same. Autospawner in the middle of a 7x7 room, 4 Grinders in the walls connected to Ender Tanks and Ender Chests to get full kill coverage. The 2 left tanks are setup for slimes right now for insane Iron setup. The right tank has Ogres in it, which spawns 75% cave ogres, which drop diamonds. Diamond + Minium Stone = 4 Gold Ingot. Gold Ingot + Minium Stone = 32 Iron Ingot. The floor of the right tank is made from Transposers, which pull any items that land on them into a tube network, that leads to the chest you can see.
The upper left room is setup for Minium Stone farming. Elevated Autospawner spawns skeletons, they fall onto conveyor belts, get pushed down to a lower 3-wide level where 3 Power Tools set to Railgun fire at them every half second. Because it's a railgun it counts for a player kill, causing them to drop Minium Stones and experience. The drops are pushed along conveyor belts to an Item Collector with an Ender Chest, which is out from the wall so experience can be collected. Causes huge FPS and Server lag when run because of the sheer number of entities experience orbs count for, so I only run it when nobody is around.
The switches along the bottom enable/disable the Autospawners, the railguns in the upper tank, and the tesla coil in my base. The tesla coil cannot be on with the left tanks else it kills things instead of the grinders or railguns. However, it is used for the right tank since Mo' Creatures mobs aren't killed by grinders. Hence the tesla coil + transposer setup.
I might make a copy of one room in the Nether since that's the only place Auto-spawners will spawn real Wither Skeletons. All those Ender chests are linked to the same diamond/color code which has a copy being imported into my ME network (Double imported because drops come so fast one cannot cover it). All slime balls are incinerated because jfc I get thousands every minute. At this point I have a stockpile of 60k+ Iron which took...maybe an hour of afk'ing?
I've automated too much...

Seeing as the server is getting pretty dead recently, would people be up for a wipe and update the server to a newer version?
We could use a lot of the mods we have currently, but they'd be updated and significantly better versions, for one. Also, we could load up Pixelmon and effectively catch Pokemon in the world, train them, fight them, etc.
Downside is, obviously, a server wipe. Additionally, it wouldn't be a mod pack, so we'd need to install the mod individually. It would be possible to get an 'easy' install guide up with download links, but it would be more than 'run the launcher'.
Would everyone be up for that? I think it would be more fun than the current lack of activity on the server. We could also institute a smaller world border, down from 5000, to help with server ram.
Also, screw you Halos, it turns out the Terraformer doesn't affect the ocean underneath building, which is annoying to say the least. Any building, even if it's not touching the water.
