  • Should be up now. I glanced at the console like 3 hours ago and it said it was up and I saw three people in, so I assumed it came back up. Apparently it lied to me.

    it's up, thanks @Kazu
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!"
Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh."
Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

  • @Kazu : Some fire ogre started ripping my house apart while I was crafting in it. Is this normal?

  • Kazu is a jerk and turned on block damage from ogres when he lowered some spawn rates.

he lowered spawn rates? Weird, didn't notice any spawn rate lowering

  • He did something with sea creatures, not ogres

Also, I second tharvis with giving more people access to reboot button
  • If you were online after he changed the sea creature spawn, he said "Be careful with ogres >.>" or something.

He turned on block destruction at the same time.

Shit, I need to get back into Minecraft. I've been neglecting it for a good while.
What do I need to get and what is our server again?
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"

  • TharvisTharvis The Land of Beer and Chocolate!
tekkit lite and mo'creatures, details should be on.. page 46 and in kazu's sig
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!"

why am I not tagged there @Kazu   :-/

Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

  • @Kazu am I (Antidas1) still whitelisted? Was having trouble connecting to the server with the address in your sig, thought that might be why.

  • What a cutie!

"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to? You will never find that [everlasting] life for which you are looking. When the gods created man they allotted to him death, but life they retained in their own keeping. As for you, Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day, dance and be merry, feast and rejoice. Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water, cherish the little child that holds your hand, and make your wife happy in your embrace; for this too is the lot of man."

  • So I reset Tekkit because of an issue with Sphax (still uninstalled, their website's layout is utterly terrible :( ), now I can't login. Reinstalled the Tekkit Lite folder, installed the 3 applicable files from page 47, deleted mystcraft, and now I can't login. Were there other steps? A complete list of steps was never given, and for some reason Kazu removed the server IP from his signature so I can't even check that I have that right.

    Any ideas?

  • Delete the config files for mystcraft, chicken chunks, and dimensional doors to make sure.

  • Ok, finally got on the server after deleting all of that stuff.

Now, back to original concern, does anyone have a good Sphax install guide for tekkit, preferably with direct links to downloads? Their site is pretty atrocious for constant redirects and I'd rather not break everything trying to navigate their stuff if someone knows exactly what to get.

  • Kazu, any idea why my Energy Bridge into a phase pipe is accomplishing literally nothing?

I have an MFSU into an HV Consumer into Energy Bridge to BC Producer. MFSU 100% charged.

Energy bridge says 141 EU/t input (~1/3 actual) and 58 MJ/t output. Giving output limited message, bridge is 100% charged.

It's leading into a phase pipe on frequency 100 on send only.

On my crafting island I have the opposite setup, Phase pipe (S&R @ 100) -> BC Consumer -> Energy Bridge -> HV Producer -> Transformers/etc

That energy bridge is receiving 0 power input, confirmed by every device shutting down.

I tried resetting both ends multiple times, changing out HV for EV on both ends, I even made energy tesseracts and set them up and they did nothing either. Are energy bridges just FUBAR for me? My first one worked in my base to convert for my quarries, but these ones are accomplishing jack shit.

  • Managed a fix, I'll put it here incase anyone else encounters the same problem:

Big arrays have to go into storage cells before a phase pipe, otherwise they just look stupid and fail horribly.

It's recommended to put it in a storage cell on the other side of the pipe too, since energy bridges are shoddy at best.

  • TharvisTharvis The Land of Beer and Chocolate!
we lagged out because RAM was at 81% I suppose, trying to start it back up again now, but it seems to be stuck at shutting down

  • TharvisTharvis The Land of Beer and Chocolate!
and it's back up. @Kazu, is it normal the server -starts- at 64% ram usage?
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!"
Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh."
Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

  • @Tharvis Yes. Can't be helped when people are running 2-3 quarries, plus anchors in bases, anchors in the nether, and the actual players themselves. Not to mention the mobs from Mo Creatures, and it horribly spikes if people fly.

  • All I want for Christmas is for phase pipes and energy bridges to not be utterly terrible at moving energy :(

25 Redstone Energy Cells on max output into 1 phase pipe.

Powering 3 quarries, fine. Plug it into 2 more cells to charge an MFSU? Can't even charge faster than they drain.

Good stuff game, I'm glad I was able to move 2500 MJ/t and get less than 200 MJ/t out on the other side. Wonderful.

Cascades of quicksilver light streak across the firmament as the celestial voice of Ourania intones, "Oh Jarrod..."

  • @Jarrod if you add another hv producer to the energy bridge you should pull more power from it. The energy bridge will only draw as much power as the other side needs and an MFSU uses 512 eu packets which is around 200 MJ/t. The extra hv producer should let it pull another 512 eu packet to charge.
  • edited January 2014
That's not the issue, it should pull 200 MJ from the two Redstone Cells before the bridge, and the pipe should be giving them 200 MJ, max input and output for them.

Instead, I'm getting a little less out and significantly less in.

I'm getting 2500 MJ/t into one side of a phase pipe from 25 RECs, the other side of the phase pipe is 3 quarries and 2 RECs, and the 2 RECs are getting terrible output from the phase pipe.

Is it possible to again lower the number of sea creatures spawning? The server had over 3k entities earlier, and at Jarrods island alone over 1k dolphins/sharks/rogs (+ maybe 2 dozen cows) were being kept loaded by anchors.

Regarding the lag we had earlier:

I know there are spawn caps for water/land creatures, so maybe lower dolphin/shark spawns by 90% and lower water spawn cap by 75%? We can make inks from uu matter, the only item we would miss are those little fish and I can't find those anyhow (I think the cap gets reached by rogs/dolphin/shark in perma loaded ocean chunks)

I don't think anyone will miss the sea animals (please correct me if I am wrong), and the lowering of spawned entities would improve server ram usage and lag.
(more info on how to: click  )

Looking into it I also think our secondary problem lies in chunks loaded.
I think we should self restrict dimensional anchor usage. Don't put anchors up unless you actively need them (no, you do not need that 11th k uu matter). If you are going to be absent for a while, take your anchors down. Use appropriate size (f6 or f7 shows the loaded area, there is no need for a 9*9 chunks loaded area if what you need fits in one)
Also, take down inactive quarries asap, as they also keep very large areas loaded. Also, no quarries or lava pumps in the nether, fluid dynamics are horrid on itself (I almost made the server crash by pumping out my quarry, with Kazu getting error message spam)

  • F6 displays chunk boundaries

    F9 displays force-loaded chunks

I managed to solve the power core issue...I'll get a picture up of this stupid thing soon.

Water mob spawns disabled. I've also limited the ability of anchors to claim a ton of chunks. The limit should be 15 total chunks now. To lower the amount of mobs spawned though, you will have to kill all the ones currently spawned probably. There is no butcher command. Just on a side note, dropped blocks, xp, and etc count on the entities list. I could get rid of them by simply removing and he reinstalling mo creatures, but that would remove all your tamed animals as well.

    15 per anchor?

Seems fine to me, I changed all my area anchors to line anchors anyways so I could more accuractely cover the chunks I'm actually using.

Also, kill all sea animals? On it.
