Instead of being like, super mad at everything all the time, I'd like to do a wishlist.
Some rules:
1) This is for QUALITY OF LIFE upgrades only, not combat. You can include something to do with your class skills, but only upgrades with no overt combat implications. I know there's usually a bleed.
2) You don't have to write anything super elaborate as to why you want this, but your wish should be detailed enough so that people can picture it.
3) No commenting on other people's wishes. You can like it if you also want it, but we don't want any 'lol that idea's dumb' stuff.
1
Comments
1) Ability to sign or seal parcels with signet ring. Cause right now parcels are virtually anonymous if nobody knows to expect one.
2) Ability to write simple notes directly into journals instead of going into the editor every single time.
3) Interactive pop-up windows for board games including chess and the stuff you buy in Thera. I know something like that can probably be scripted for mudlet, but I'd like to see it for nexus too.
4) More room environment options for housing. (and cheaper OoS costs while I'm at it hur hur)
5) Ability to closer inspect other people's NDS items. Sometimes people want to see your designs without you having to make a sample, or do something weird like read the description at them.
6) Returning some basic furniture for sale at Fronck. There still aren't a whole lot of prolific furniture designers or makers. Sometimes you just want a super basic basket or a shelf but you can't find it. They'll also serve as a good samples for those starting out.
2. Being able to make my rare org vials, pipes, and quiver into artie versions of same, including the reacts, and therefore not having to choose between cool and functional.
3. 'Overcoat' and 'longcoat' being tailoring patterns (I idea'd these a long time ago, the first one passed and the second did not).
4. An ideas system that doesn't rely on the whims of players who may or may not read the ideas list
5. Being able to wear multiple pouches at once
6. Ability to tuck in necklaces/medallions/lockets so on so they either a) don't show or b) show a truncated short description. If I'm wearing a high-collared coat and its long sleeves automatically hide bracelets, that doesn't seem so ridiculous. What -is- ridiculous is my character wearing a necklace (Necklace of Comprehension, a conjuration item rather than an artie power), a crit pendant, a promo locket (the kind you make from enamel shards), and potentially amulets or medallions he receives as gifts or earns through service. Cut that to just the stuff that gives mechanical benefits, and it's still a lot of bling.
7. Alternate earring of Sinope design: stud of Sinope. Exactly like an earring of Sinope, except it is the equivalent of using the 'stud' rather than 'earring' schematic from the Piercing Annex. I idea'd this a long time ago and it didn't pass, to be clear. But basically I'm just weirded out by seeing combatants wearing earrings through their eyebrows.
8. Earring of Sinope message not being all about true love. Like. The seeming majority of earrings of Sinope do not belong to lovers or spouses. They belong to raiders. I love my fellow Targ combatants, but not like THAT.
9. Being able to un-seal journals after you've sealed them. Handy for when you hand something over to the librarian to be filed and then realized you're missing something important on Page 2.
The soul of Ashmond says, "Always with the sniping."
(Clan): Ictinus says, "Stop it Jiraishin, you're making me like you."
Being able to target "clothes" or "clothing" the same way we can food. You can do DIRECTORY FOOD or GET 50 FOOD, and it will encompass all types. But for clothing you can only do the individual types, like shirt, dress, etc. It is very tedious.

(Clan): Ictinus says, "Stop it Jiraishin, you're making me like you."
I'll have to try again and see. Is it in Announce news? Because I should bug it if you're right, I guess.

2. A CONFIG SHOWSIMPLEDEATHSIGHTS command that tags a simple deathsight message to the super cool ones we have now. It would not replace them, but would be a secondary message similar to a GMCP affliction show/cure message or the configurable simplified emote message alongside custom emotes. (This was already in IDEAs once)
3. Update AB files to more accurately represent what abilities do after classlead changes. (Bonus: more mechanical details about abilities! Though, it is really fun to find new ways to use things that other people wouldn't think about.)
4. Update AFFLICTION SHOW so that the information that is shown is both accurate and more informative. AFFLICTION SHOW INQUISITION, for instance, is flat out wrong about how long Inquisition lasts. It should also have a line that explains exactly what that affliction does. From an RP perspective, without this hardcoded in the game, we have to learn the intricacies of new, sometimes factional classes by either hoping we can infer the effects after a fight or by asking/testing. It doesn't makes sense to teach your enemies how to fight against you, and not everything is evident in what it does. If we have to make such grand RP/metagamey concessions for sake of learning about new classes, why don't we just skip having to put our characters in questionable circumstances and just have access to the information we need. (Note: GMCP already stores more info about defenses (and maybe afflictions but I can't confirm atm) than in-game commands do, and we can access that with scripting. If it's available for access to those who know how to code around it, it should be available to those of us who cannot.)
5. More container types!
Edit: This is how GMCP shows afflictions and defences:
And defenses:
I would like to see outposts that give Orders powers (crit bonus, gold cap bonus, maybe even a stat point), so that maybe we don’t need to burn through essence only to defile or raise, and maybe essence could have more of a use for more orders.
Just an idea.
Aegis, God of War says, "You are dismissed from My demense, Astarod. Go forth and fight well. Bleed fiercely, and climb the purpose you have sought to chase for."
1. Allow anybody to see all forging descriptors and their associated costs via FORGING LIST and FORGING SHOW <descriptor>. Having to pastebin a list of descriptors so people know what's available, or try to suggest descriptors they might want, is a hassle.
2. Bring Conjuration and Augmentation in line with the other tradeskills in terms of ease of use. A single command to enchant an item/multiple items that outrifts the commodities for you and produces the final item, rather than having to do long chains of actions specific to the enchantment.
3. Allow Weaponmastery Lunge to be used with a lance (lunge is stat independent so no combat implications). Also modify the message when lunging while mounted so that it looks more like a mounted charge, including the steed appearance.
4. Allow pocketbelts to be non-decayed (and therefore customised, since paying 50 credits to change the desc on an item that will decay is pointless). Who is even using these when you have to spend mementoes on them and they have no mechanical advantage? If I could non-decay and customise I would consider it.
5. Make more things artefact powers rather than native to the item itself, especially for talismans.
6. Messages for room effects fading (for those that don't already have them). This might be crossing the line on combat implications, but given that it's not that difficult to do client-side for your own things limiting it to just the owner should get around that.

I also like being able to hide all the random mechanical crap with a single command.
* Denizen tutors, outside of Househalls, that can teach any skill to completion. It's easier for some classes to find an adventurer to learn from, not so easy for others.
* The ability to learn more than 20 lessons at a time. In Imperian certain City tutors will teach you 90+ lessons at once. This would be great.
* More ways to earn credits/lessons.
* I second what a few others have said, in regards to speech in emotes.
We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

something I think I've seen elsewhere would be to be able to have ship crews learn sea shanties

Ships are super expensive and since I don't own one, I'm too nervous to use one of the ships I do have perms to sail, cause I'd likely get it sunk.
