So, like, the year is ending. It has been a pretty eventful one for me (and everyone else). From being a total idiot genius IRL to getting ready to move to Australia, things've been changing a lot. My mother came down with cancer earlier this year (fully recovered, tyvm) and the few people I told were extremely supportive. Etc, etc, Tvistor's emo.



ANYWAY! It's been a seriously eventful one. I need to wake up early but am taking the time to drop off a ton of raves. (and everyone else should do the same for those players they love -- no I don't care we already have a thread, this is special). In no particular order (and only including citymates):

I know you aren't going to read this @Tenemara, but you were the coolest thing to hit the Congregation since Carmain decided Infernal was boring.

@Sherazad, thanks for always being free to talk and upbeat no matter how things are going for you. It gets everyone else's moods up too.

@Antidas You KSing noob, I hope you trip and fall on your artie bow dude, I gotta say you're one of the main reasons I've stuck around. You are the voice that whispers 'What if we just backstab everything?' when I am being buried in people claiming combat isn't vital to Mhaldor.

@Jurixe is more or less one of the pillars of RP in Mhaldor at this point. Though we've agreed on and off over things, I'd be a total jerk not to give her a shout out -- chillax and keep doing your thing!

@Tirac, for just being insanely badass. Have you seen the guy? Fear not fear, fear me. I bet Sartan has a Tirac shrine somewhere.

For sparring me, bouncing around vivisect ideas and being the beating heart of the Maldaathi (or like, if not the entire heart, then at least the right ventricle), here's to Sir @Arador.

@Kaevan should definitely get a mention for being ridiculously classy/Evil/intelligent. He made for a hell of an interesting Tyrannus at times.

@Xenomorph for doing his utmost to keep Mhaldor amazing. He doesn't get enough credit for his work at all. Hail Tyrannus!

Here's one to @Jiraishin for taking the astounding effort to keep up to date with the Naga no matter what's going on IRL for you. The dedication is amazing, and anyone that doesn't agree need to wait 30 minutes so I can classchange to monk and AXK them.

@Garao for being a constant voice of reason, immune to herd mentality and a jerk that needs to stop. Class. Changing. (Let him into the ACC, also)

I don't talk to many forestals unless I'm going to be like 'Haha, I have vanquished thine foliage, mine barbarous adversaries!', so here's one for @Aepas who against all odds has somehow managed to successfully RP a forestal in post-alchemist Mhaldor. I don't even. What.

Here's a collective one for all the CR1s because you a) don't have enough rank to earn your own and b) I wouldn't want you to think I actually cared or anything. @Teela, @Quei, @Turoi, I'm glad I broke my 'No OOC' clan rule for long enough to talk to the lot of you. I hope you die slightly fewer times than the average slave. @Daeir, stop playing your alts, damn it. @Daslin, despite his treachery. =(

And you. @Xer. I'd have gone insane if I thought I was the only person trying to make the transition from 'Thinks combat is interesting' to 'Attempting to kill everything that moves'. Hats off to you.

Although he's never around as much as I'd like, @Lodi adds about 200,000,000 layers to the depths of Mhaldor's culture. From snapping off classy Evil banter on the spur of the moment to the planned brilliance of the IIFA, he goes above and beyond the call.

@Ruth, for somehow going from Seneschal (which like, isn't even a real position) to the best Daemonic Hand I've seen since joining. The EF has gone from 'where we keep the forestals' to 'Ahhhhhh stop punching me in the face'.

@Trey for being so goddamn attractive.

@Nizaris for putting all that work into the BC requirements -- I used the unrevised version when I really needed to fall asleep, as an indicator of how much work went into them.

@Carmain for photosynthesizing.

@Kinilan for blocking down. Useless seafaring jerk does anyone even know what class he is?

Think I'll put my own raves in, starting with one for @Tvistor: A huge thank you for being so constantly supportive even when you disagreed with me, for being useful and creative when you probably would've rather been doing something else, for being useful and creative in general, and for demonstrating how much fun villain RP can be. Without you I probably would've had some kind of breakdown.

@Jurixe You stuck around when hardly anyone else did. Thank you. Also, a rave for the great RP we used to do earlier in the year. I miss  that, and I need to find a way to talk to you more again.

@Cinya I regret not having a reason or avenue to RP with you anymore. It was a lot of fun while it lasted.

I have no raves for the year ... mostly because my memory only goes back about a week or two. Was kind of an odd year for me oocly, though, getting to that point in your life when your relatives start dieing off is... weird. My grandmother in January, my grandfathers-brother's-widow this fall, followed not long after by my 107-year-old great-great uncle ... might be another great in there... 107 is a long time though.

Oh yeah... I also had that surgery thing this year, that's technically a rave since they were fixing a heart-defect I was born with, so that was awesome.

And half of Cyrene was awesome, half of you were irritating, and a thirdtwo-thirds snuggled and cupcaked too much. You know who you are. (Well, you probably don't, but I'll let you pick which category you think I think you fell under).

Wow, it's crazy to recall that I started playing again in January of 2012. I think I was in denial that I was active again for probably about half of that. 

Regardless, here are my raves (not necessarily in order!) : 

@Jiraishin - The frustration at a lack of an RP avenue is most definitely mutual. You were pretty much the sole reason I STAYED active when I started playing again this year, and I had a blast with the entire thing. Your character is subtle, but one of the best-played I believe I've seen in this game, and I'm honored to have been able to play a role in Jiraishin's life, however fleeting it might have been. Thank you, more than words can express! 

@Vayne - You added a super interesting layer to Cinya while she was still in Shallam, and it's been a pleasure to see that evolve, and to eventually become your text-daughter (even if Cinya won't wear your name) and join your city. I was nervous about finally getting bloodlined after IRL years, but am grateful every day that I took the plunge. You've had a bigger impact on Cinya than you probably realize! 

@Aitox - You make a kickass Ravensong, and it's rad to be in the same city with you. Cin and Aitox have always gotten along, and it's really gratifying to see them as family (thank you for sticking with me instead of Fyr when they split!), and to finally be into the same organization together, as your enthusiasm and creativity have always inspired me. We will be a force to be reckoned with. 

@Verily - We group-raved about you recently, so I'll keep this brief. Verily's early interest in Cinya's life was one of the most flattering things I've ever experienced in this game, and really helped my RP-ego at a time when I needed it. I can't think of single other character I'd have preferred to have added to the text-family than you. 

@Corbeaux - I greatly admire your character for his layers and his realism, and you as a player for your stellar IC/OOC (and for mocking our characters along with me when they do stupid shit). I didn't plan to have anyone like Corb in Cin's life for QUITE awhile when they met, but you were too much fun to pass up. As much trouble as Corb causes for Cinya, you have always undoubtedly been worth it. 

Major OOC raves to @Mathonwy, @Apollodorus, and @Sothantos. I'd feel weird raving about you above because I haven't RP'd with any of you as significantly (or lately, in Soth's case), but you all rock pretty hardcore, and I would feel wrong leaving you off this post.

I've recently returned from five years of dormancy and things have been pretty fascinating. The last few months have gone from overwhelming to making decisions that I never once dreamed of. If someone had told me, when I first returned, that I'd be Orderless and Ashtani at this point in time, I'd have politely asked what they were smoking. I've no regrets though and I've not been happier.

@Khairt, for being the best text-husband ever, even if his wife makes silly decisions. I think it's been 250 years now.

@Verrucht, for being Verrucht. You know I'm eternally grateful that you put up with me. So much time has passed and you're still the person I turned to for those raw conversations. I can't let my guard down that way with anyone else.

@Peak, for being Kyrra's BFF. I seriously think you're putting off Logosian just so I can cook for you. Also, where I am today was to make you happy, and I've never been happier. You are worth it.

@Nellaundra, for restoring my faith in my Beholder proteges. The Order dissolved before I had a chance to really work with you but it provided the chance to get to know you in a way that I don't think would have happened otherwise. I really love the random interactions that pop up and I'm looking forward to more in future, hopefully at better times where neither of us are so tired. You're my favourite granddaughter.

@Tvistor, someday I will actually shield when you shoot arrows at me. I really enjoy the late night OOC conversations that we have. You're a gem.

@Ashtan, because there's some folk that I really want to rave and they really don't like being tagged. Leaving Cyrene was such a huge deal for me and it was something that I was hesitating over. Certain people went out of their way to be supportive and encouraging, and I'm still getting used to things being so different. I feel like I have a place in Ashtan. To those that I actually talk to, you mean a lot to me.

@Trey, for the very amazing late nights, delightful early mornings, and everything in between. There aren't really very many people in my life that I can spend all day, every day talking to. There's a dowry of steel with your name on it.

And, well, I wouldn't have stuck around if it weren't for Selene. The role of the Goddess had such a huge impact on how Kyrra developed and the person behind the role, made every interaction absolutely magic.

@mizik: For  remaining my one v one brainstorm partner all year, and for paying for my drinks in Fl. Also for maintaining the attitude of "there's ten of them and two of us, they're just a bigger target" ever since I started playing.

@Dunn: For stepping up when I got bored one day and being hands down one of the best people to play with in this game.

@Akia: for talking with me for stupid amounts of time concerning combat mechanics, and being the best afk earring target I could ever ask for.

@tagg: Everyone needs a pecimist, and he plays imperian with me when I have my achaea burnout weeks.  Also means I never have to walk to battlements when he's logged in.

@Jarrod: He's a filthy killstealer, but he snipes kalmia, breaks in places he shouldn't and doesn't afraid of anything. Also has good taste in books.

@Sohl: For always being down to fight against the odds, and for sticking at occie when just about everyone else has given up post svo.

@Earionduil: For being an absolute badass and one of the most layed back people that I get to play with. People give him a lot of bad rep on the forums for some reason, but without question I'd say he has one of the best attitudes towards Achaea that I've encountered, and has a very interesting character. (Also, he plays a proper timezone and has taken up the Australian banner of Sabiru to fight with me in the mornings when everyone else is asleep.)

@Manifest: This guy coming back was one of the best things to happen to my playing experience this year. I guarantee very few people would have had the patience to jump through all the loops to get reinducted into an org they were wrongfully removed from. Massive thumbsup.

@Nemutaur: Its rare that true newbie goes from novice to combat success so fast, and even rarer that they have such a relaxed attitude about the whole thing. You have no idea how glad I am that you joined Ashtan. (Suck it Shallam, you were one CTF too late, you hear? TOO LAAATE!)

@Jarrel: for never failing to inject a commic element to a situation, and for being able to coherently discuss mechanics.

@Sabiru: makes me sad that he's around so little now, but still one of my best friends made through Achaea and for being great the few times he's around.

@Triak: for appearing out of nowhere to one shot choke then vanishing again. Is a true monk assassin. (Also says stfu quite unlike anyone else when ct gets out of control.)

Don't think I forgot anyone from the core group, but if I did: best group of combat people to fight with.

@Amunet: for making my character presentable at all of the necessary functions. Turning up in bloodstained canvas and leather apparently isn't acceptable. Also for being a ridiculously hard worker and juggling massive responsibilities.

@Mathonwy: very glad he came back, even though our characters haven't spoken overly much recently I've always greatly enjoyed the roll he portrays and his approach to the Babel theology. (If you don't stop trolling me about my place of residence and text-not-stalker, there will be a reckoning.)

@Lianca: doesn't believe in sleep, constantly down to help even when pk isn't her primary interest, juggles tons of work for order/city/house and never complains. Also for being patient with the incredibly long promotion time order side.

@Corbeaux: We don't get to interact much, but I always enjoy when we do, and he's a ninja spy.

@Babel: made the long wait for someone to take up the role all worth it. I love to complain, and can't find anything to complain about.

@Babel's order: the one org I could never bring myself to quit under any circumstance. I think the highlight for me this year which reminded me just why I love the order so much was Babel telling us to try to get the sword of Dunamis. There were around 60 people in call for help range, and people didn't even hesitate to agree to go for it anyway. The level of zealotry inherent in every character but portrayed differently really gives it an atmosphere quite unlike anything else I've experienced in Achaea.

@Ashtan: come a long way on all fronts, I'm really glad to see how much its improved, and tons of citizens have made that possible. Would take too long to list them all.

@Sothantos/Silas: I couldn't have got my honours line without you constantly going afk. Thanks guys.

@Jhui: I could see playing on your team as fun, a shame we don't get to throw down more but is always fun when you have your people around.

@Tecton: for putting up with my/Ashtan's nonsense even when we take it a little too far, and always being reasonable when telling us to keep it cool or go outside (in not so many words).

@Xer: You are genuinely the best thing to happen to Mhaldor in a while. Thank you for your constant optimism and being ever willing to do whatever, from combat to culture. It seems strange that I've only really known you for a few months or so, but you're quickly turning into one of my favourite people. Never leave! (Or I will kill you. With kittens.)

@Antidas: My partner Can't remember all the times we've brainstormed and talked about all things Naga and Mhaldor, and had/have some really good RP together. You are awesome, and I think we complement each other well.

@Xenomorph: You have without a doubt one of the most difficult jobs to do in Achaea. Thank you for always trying to be as fair as you can possibly be, and for your dedication to your orgs. +1 respect.

@Kaevan: There are few people I enjoy RPing with more than Kaevan. Always cool, always funny, keeps Mhaldor organised like you wouldn't believe and always willing to run with whatever random thing I start up.

@Carmain: Best IC dad I could ever ask for and an amazing friend. Thank you for everything you do for us, and for caring even when everyone else gave up.

@Vrah: I wish you were around a little more, but you're still a great IC mom! Things are always fun when you're around.

@Hayte: The few interactions I've had with you have always been fun. BE AROUND MORE WE HAVE A STORYLINE TO CONTINUE.

@Trey: You are hands down one of the most consistent, interesting characters to RP with in Mhaldor and I'm so glad it became possible again. Things have been quiet lately but I want you to know that!
