Rave for @Gwawr and everybody else involved in the refugees' games of Cabal. Awesomely fun distraction.
Is Ada playing? Ada did it.
Thank you @Gwawr, they have been really really fun. Especially the last time I played when @Silas and @Alexius tried to convince me who was the real priest!

I'd just like to take a moment to double-like the sentiment above. With very few exceptions (as with all factions, there are bad apples), the combatant side of Eleusis has one of the most good sport attitudes in the game. I've seen Jhui and co. be a class act whether they're curbstomping people or getting their shit kicked in, and it makes the game more fun as a result.
Yeah, despite hating Ithmian barbarians, I've never gone into a raid with Eleusis thinking "I'm going to get griefed for this."
We're pretty much asking for it with exterminations, so whatever.
We don't have the offensive initiative to grief, unfortunately. We have very few offensively minded people, unlike Ashtan (and you guys at the moment). We do well in small skirmishes with the earring team because we have familiarity and awareness. However, you guys have gotten so good at splitting the non-earringites from the group or making them make their own decisions that we are losing.
In all honesty, this is a good thing. You guys are playing your factional advantages much better and have people that know what they're doing so you should be winning. The individuals on our side are going to have to learn (like you guys did) how to combat what you're doing.
I imagine there will be TONS of ranting before this is accomplished though.
I died three times, and got two kills, but I would have come out of that thinking it was awesome if I'd died 10x over. The scale of it was just crazy.
I've found that group fights are more fun if you don't sit around for 20 minutes discussing strategies and boring the opponent out. Just yell out a plausible strategy and RP that something has to be done now and can't wait for the perfect plan.
Was some fun fights whether on the losing or winning side though!

That time made it very clear that we have to up our game, and I'm really not offensively minded in the least... BUT, during the defence I asked someone older/more well known a question and got "how dare you question Jhui or me! I'm so brilliant I don't need to listen to your heckling." So... Lets stop doing that as a faction - might actually encourage new leaders.

You said that playing super defence was working. I said it wasn't, since we were losing people and land regardless. You asked if I was just being contrary.
The real, OOC reason it's a bad idea is that you're going to bore the hell out of people by sticking to defence, but "make it fun" isn't really an in-character wartime notion.
There isn't a real of strategy that goes into our raids/defence and more often than not its got varied people in it, I think we have gotten better because everyone knows their role and when its done it usually works okay.
Without going into to much detail ours is like okay LOS you follow blah, target is 1,2,3,4 Monks you are following blah, target 1,2,3,4 melee you are following blah target is 1,2,3,4 Pan you are beckon or shadowstrike blah, bob you hit with everyone punish them with bashing attacks.
Its not overly complicated, when it doesnt work we retreat back and then look at different options.
Also It's bloody hard to see anything in large groups, the scroll through is fast, it helps that Tirac's party target is repeated 5 times so you can actually see it. I had to make an echo that blinks it to my screen and then I can just press lc to change target.
edit: oops this is raves: My rave then is Tirac's party target that gets repeated 5 times so I can actually see.
Mhaldorian raid defense and offense is generally extremely well coordinated in my experience, especially if I'm raiding with Antidas/Xer/Tirac/other people.
Then there are those days when somehow, beyond all logic, you somehow fail to destroy a single room without any actual opposition for twenty minutes.

I died... like seven times yesterday, as well as losing two soulcages on top of that. Granted one death was to change specialisation. I started on about 88%, and after many, many hours hunting, only made it to 93% due to all the dying.
The rave? I legitimately don't care. Not sure why, but it isn't bugging me.
That is admirable, I was in a similar situation (with scaled down losses, I am certain) and I was getting frustrated. I am sure it is much worse in your shoes and I think it is awesome that it does not bother you like that, I will remember that when I am your level.
My rave: leading people in raids who do not need to be lead, so I get a little bit of practice leading without risking people who need good leaders (I am clueless lol).
As someone who really isn't that interested in one on one combat, but is a member of a combat house in a combat city, I'm getting rather used to dying. I just don't care enough about it to put in the effort to learn the finer details. I'd rather be rping, designing, working on IG art, teaching novices or hunting most of the time. Raids and shrine combat are far more interesting - when I'm not facing Lyr and his ridiculous pile of rites that is.
@Hhaos will probably recall just how frustrating it was trying to get me to work on combat stuff when I was in the KoH. :P

But it was still fun and I got like five kills with my bow.
