Tanris used to bug me to try MUSHClient for a long time. Finally downloaded it the other day. Not bad, and it supports several languages.
I used MUSH exclusively before Mudlet and SVO. Easy and quick to set settings, you can throw a portable version on a flash drive and play anywhere. Pretty stand up client.

If anyone's still on zmud, they should be beaten, and CMud isn't much better. Both have terrible issues in terms of saving states, memory leaks, and are pretty piggish with the simplist of systems.
I'm still on zMUD, because it would take ages to rewrite all of my scripts and I've never been motivated enough to take a few weeks to do it. I've never had an issue with memory leaks or saving anything, and I was hoping there would be problems running it in Win 8.1 (so I'd have more reason to switch to a better client) but the only problem is the client occasionally hanging in the background after closing (uses up enough resources to matter, but not enough to actually notice normally). There are a couple of scripts that I'd like to have but can't because they'd be too slow/inefficient in zMUD, but nothing I can't live without.
  • I'm on cMUD. I tried a few times to make the change to mudlet due to peer pressure, but it didn't seem worth the frustration of something completely different. I honestly love it, and I am not aware of any memory leak considering I only have to restart it when I have to restart my laptop for updates. It's open nonstop in between.
  • If I could be on zMUD and have the scripts and gui that I do now, I'd change in about 7 seconds. I hate mudlet with a passion, and loved zmud. Except for the registering bullshit.

  • I also use CMUD. I was very close to making the leap to mudlet had it not been for @Keneanung and @Vessil who helped modify Vadi's mapper.

Being able to do room name searches and walking via vnums is a necessity for me.

A squid? Huh, I never knew.

There's a couple military here. As far as I know I'm the only active Navy, though.

I mean, at least you're not a Coastie, which makes you alright in my books.
  • I've heard every joke there is @Caelan. My brother-in-law is in the Army, and we give each other shit constantly.

Oh don't feel bad. I abuse Caelan for being a professional window licker every time he asks me a silly question. He gets his plenty, I promise.

@Omor Yeah I heard you Navy guys can really take it.  Army AND Navy?  Which one of you was the ASVAB waiver? (Hint: This is a trick question) :D

seriosuly though... You ever go to Oki?     You prefer blue side or green side?  What is your rate (and for that matter, your MOS?)    Sgt, 3521/8531  (mechanic, and marksmanship instructor)

@ Patroklos lol.  Quit bitching, it saves you time and Windex!

People say they get it, but I don't think they can when it comes to the community unless they are/were a cop or firefighter.  Some of the funniest shit I've ever heard was an Air Force guy *trying* to insult Marines.  Sooooo dark.  Sooo funny. Gishun? was Air Force I think. That dude was hilarious too. The only person I know of that "gets it" but never served was Batista.

I don't know who this should go out to, because I'm sure it's the effort of a team of people, but @Nicola @Makarios @wholeteamofadminandvolunteers... I don't know what's going on up there, but I have never seen issues/bugs/typos/ideas/everything handled so responsively, and cordially, and consistently as I'm seeing lately.

Thank you so much. I can't explain how good it feels to see our concerns and ideas heard and valued. <3
Hehe remember WoW when everyone would bitch about this or bitch about that and then they'd randomly change something else.... like... did Priest really need a rework right then? Completely change everything? ... ok... odd focus... but ok.

Here it feels like we are so much apart of the development and direction. :)

Most of the time it feels like they're implementing exactly what I want, without me having said anywhere that I wanted it. It isn't often that I get to be the target public for anything, it's a good feeling.

To be fair, while players are typically good at realizing that there is a problem with something, they are also notoriously bad at both identifying what that problem actually is and at coming up with a solution to that problem.

Just reading classleads in IRE games should show you that much pretty clearly.
