I started playing Achaea roughly 36 hours ago, and I'm already so addicted to it that I've bought credits, because . . . OMG THIS GAME! I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't something with an entire world history and mythology, holidays, ships and pirates, pets, politics, religion, restaurants with MENUS, alcoholic beverages . . . and DRUGS?! Let's just say I am overwhelmed in the best possible way! (Either that, or at some point in the future, my family's going to do some kind of intervention on me because I can't stop playing).
I was on Google, searching for an accessible alternative to World of Warcraft. I've wanted to play that one for years, because my Dad and brother are severely addicted to it, and their description made it sound so cool. But my understanding was that it was completely inaccessible to someone who uses a screen reader. So I searched around and found forums where people were talking about MUDs, and I was all, "What the H*** is a MUD?" So I kept on Googling and came across the Iron Realms games, and the rest is . . . developing history! *smiles*
PS - I see that people are "liking" my posts, but I don't see any way to like anyone else's. Is that something I have to enable in forum settings or preferences?
@Kalici hey, no worries about misspelling my name. Anywho, awesome, hope you stick around for a while! Many of us have been stuck and addicted for 10+ years, whether it's just one character, or over a group of them. Glad to see true newbies popping up lately.

I was not aware that you could play multiple characters in this game.
THIS means . . I could eventually be a druid, a human, a member of that house with all the artistic people (whose name I can't remember right now), OMG a PIRATE . . . a . . . .
You may very well have just ensured that I never leave my house again. . . . And somehow . . . that doesn't bother me like I think it should.
Don't worry, she might not yet be aware of being able to switch classes as well.
It's always great to see new people getting so excited about the game.

Just not to rain on your parade - Yes, you can play multiple characters, as long as you follow the good old rules under HELP SECONDS.
That being said, welcome to the party. Please leave your coat by that rack of bleached bones and enjoy our choice of drinks served by scantily-clad bunny girls, ranging from Mhaldorian Margaritas(with real blood!), Targossian Tequilas(is that the Light you see, or did you just pass out?), Cyrenian Cocktails(on the rocks, courtesy of Blu), and more.
My rave is that we had corporate came into work today, and the regional VP (the VP for basically every store from Kansas to Colorado) was highly impressed with certain aspects my work, enough to say it might be the best he's ever seen. Its nice to get some recognition
Sherazad has appointed you to the position of 'Prior' in the Ebon Fist
Orzaansyn will now be known as Orzaansyn Yuridja-Keyte, Priora of the Monastery.
I'm pretty sure you had clothes even before you got promoted.
Madoka Magica. Excellent choice.

Huge, huge thanks to everybody who pitched in to make Silas and Sothantos's gay wedding happen. @Halos, @Phaestus and @Aurora especially would be well within their rights to hate us for the demands, and the absolute lack of actual preparation, but I think the work put in on it was worth it. Thanks to @Tesha for the music, and thanks to everybody in Targossas (as well as @Verrucht, @Delphinus, @Melodie and everybody else) for showing up and making it a fun time for all.
Whoever was playing Cynthia, Berunis, Giles and Talarna, I love you. It was great to see all the ambient music emotes, the string quartet, and the late inclusion of the servers (even if you crazily honoured that asshole Pericles) as well. If everybody else enjoyed it even half as much as I did, it was a huge success and that's down to the people who actually know how to plan things, lol.

As of Sunday, I'd never even heard of a MUD!

@Daslin
See comment above this one, I spelled your name wrong when I tried to mention you.
