wot is the point of this thread?
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.
  • Just an old player seeing who is still around that knew me/I knew them.

    hi...

Slight derail: Should make a new BM system where the more people you BrokenStar the more renown you earn for your blade. Just make a ranking system for the greatest blades of all time.  As an aside, this would likely also increase the number of people spending credits on bands.
Tvistor: If that was a troll, it was masterful.

slight derail? i'd call that a massive derail. how the hell did we go from an old player saying hi to a ranking system for brokenstar? go post in the dais for things like this, seriously

And as he slept he dreamed a dream, and this was his dream.
  • this brokenstar talk is pure gibberish to me.

@Halios - It's the Blademaster instakill, fairly well-known these days for having a pretty viable setup as well as being amazingly thematic.  I'm not sure what the deathsight is, but if you want an idea of how the skill looks, have a look at the showdown that features in the penultimate scene of The Epic of the Chaos Cube.

  • It's a shame serpents don't have anything as cool as Broken Star. I mean, Voyria is pretty nice, but everyone can use that.

    Execute.

    Such a huge derail.

(why is Wilhemina never online when I am)
  • It's a shame serpents don't have anything as cool as Broken Star. I mean, Voyria is pretty nice, but everyone can use that.

And yet still better than Bards.

We're 13 hours or so apart, I believe. I usually play when you're catching zzz's.

Right. No more derailing. Welcome back, so-and-so!
  • Welcome back dude, sorry I had to run off so quickly today.

  • I thought I was the one who ran off (no worries)

Ok. Wibbulations @Halios - what city/class etc do you play? And how long ago did you leave?

  • He was Mhaldor serpent/magi iirc

  • Naga serpent... thief/troublemaker (some would say troll), then apostate combatant, then subversive priest, then nomad magi/sylvan
  • Then a double welcome-back! Mhaldor seems to have forgotten how to cause trouble lately, so you need to load up omni, dust off your pvp trigger-finger and join the party!

  • If you want, Sylvance, we can gank you.
  • Oh I had a harsh lesson in the new pk rules recently.

Halios is engaged in some business with old friends and unwittingly involved a young Shallamite.

She took his attempt to resolve the situation to be an overt threat, and sicc'd her ordermate on him, killing him twice.

Did not know that was possible.

If these are the new PK rules, have non-combatants simply resigned themselves to throwing barbs behind city walls and having others do their fighting for them?

I can generate all the RP cause I wish as a scholar or youngster in a city, and then simply sit within the walls, but if someone retorts or engages in the banter, they are liable to be ganked by affiliates of the youngster?

    It's rather perplexing.
  • The rule is basically "Don't be a jerk."

If it happens once, yeah, whatever. If everyone attempt at initiating conflict is met by a super heavily artied combatant dropping on you like a sack full of heathen-bricks (used in heathen houses) then that's a no go. It'd be good to get a second opinion from someone you trust to be reasonable before deciding they are legitimately griefing you.
  • 1) Name and shame?

    2) As a non-combatant, I can say that from what I've seen, largely on the forums, that the new PK rules seem to be working pretty well. Don't extrapolate from one instance.

    3) Welcome back. Should probably have said that first.
  • You're not gonna get along well in Achaea unless you get out of your old mindset.

You were a borderline griefer back then, held back mostly by your lack or artefacts. If you do the same stuff you used to do, you're gonna find a lot of people that are fully artied and a lot better than you smashing your face in.

  • Yea I submitted a self issue to get some insight because even after reading the vague rules I do not have a clear understanding of the implications of the situation at hand.
  • And I've matured quite a bit from my last stint in the realms. I will not be naming or shaming anyone.

    ;)
  • I was just wondering if it was a known alt/troll/whatever. Kudos for maturity.
