    Truth. My tiger parents' style of upbringing certainly reached Mhaldor-esque levels once or twice...
    I grew up a military brat, almost joined the army myself before I got a sweet computer programming gig in the mid 90s. My dad is 3rd generation military. Mhaldor is similar. Structure and respect is a good thing.
    Structure and respect leading to stress, depression and anxiety. Yeah that's the life I've enjoyed, this is why I'm a graphic artist and not a doctor — my stress, depression and anxiety is self-inflicted instead. If that was what Mhaldor was about then I'd expect less azns to be drawn towards the city.

You must be at least age 13 to play Achaea. However, the vast majority of
our playerbase is at least 18 years old, and our environment is oriented
towards mature adventurers.

    I had a bad experience on that day when I was a child.  We used to have a toaster oven amd I decided it would be funny to come running in from the kitchen yelling "MUM! MUM! THE TOASTER'S ON FIRE!" Mum promptly ran to the kitchen ready to put out the fire.  I found this amusing to no end and was laughing and saying "April Fools".  For some reason, my mum didn't find it funny and wasn't laughing.  Needless to say, within the next minute or two, I wasn't laughing anymore either...

    Yeah a lot of us started younger, I was 15 when I started playing, but there's those creeps that prey on new players for mudsex and stuff, which is even more wrong when you realise they have no idea whether the person on the other side of that screen is 13 or 30.

    @Katzchen: Even worse, some of them probably wouldn't care even if they did know.

    For some perspective: I was 13 when I started playing, and I know of at least one person who started playing around the same time who was a few years younger than me. Admittedly I don't think forums for Achaea even existed when I started playing, and it was a lot longer until I ever posted pictures of myself.

    You could try doing your makeup differently. You might be enhancing the wrong features. Play up what's already nice, and downplay anything that isn't.

    Good luck with the creepers, maybe one day, you, too can feel the unwashed feeling that comes from being creeped on by anonymous strangers!

    Last time Val got hit on by a creep he drew them into a big long IC talk about all his emotional problems and then denied them any action because of said emotional problems. It was a major turning point for him as a character and all because of a high-stakes game of chess with a sex alt.

    These creeps have more reason than most to remain in character, this can be abused for your gain.

    I want to ask what the stakes were, but I'm not sure I actually want to know.
