I went over for dinner at my mom's yesterday and I got tired and laid down on the couch. Doggie came up and sat with me. Mom took a picture and he flipped his big dumb ear right in front of my eyes.
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.
If you're really going to get into pipe smoking, @Kresslack, you should get a pipe that will last you longer than the one you have. Nothing against Popeye or anything, but you could do better.

I know, I bought this one cheap just to practice with. I have another pipe already that I'll post a picture of later.
I see, @Kresslack! I was just wondering, since if I remember correctly you are from Florida. Both my roommates were die-hard Southerners and insisted we hang this Confederate flag with a wolf face in the middle on our wall. :P Quite a culture shock for a New England boy, but they are two of the best guys I know. I guess what I am trying to say in a roundabout way is in no way did I mean to imply any connotations of you being a redneck/racist! :P States' rights...woo!
I dislike most people, and that's based on their actual attitude and morals (or lack thereof ), but no, not a 'redneck' or racist. I am, however, really into seafaring, especially the historical aspects of it. Getting this pipe and seeing it up close was a positive point in an otherwise stressful day.
That may not be a confederate flag, but that hat looks suspiciously like a replica of the cap worn by the Nazi SS.
My avatar is an image created by this very talented gentleman, of whose work I am extremely jealous. It was not originally a picture of Amunet, but it certainly looks a great deal like how I envision her!
@Alcinae Don't take it down - you look great! Nothing looks better on a man than a polished suit. For a band concert, I assume?
As for me - after an intense labour and an emergency cesarean, I have the most adorable little girl that anyone could ever ask for. :x Was all worth it. She was rather jaundiced at the time this was taken, but this is still my favourite photo of her in hospital. We've since worked hard on clearing it up and she's doing fantastic.
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to? You will never find that [everlasting] life for which you are looking. When the gods created man they allotted to him death, but life they retained in their own keeping. As for you, Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day, dance and be merry, feast and rejoice. Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water, cherish the little child that holds your hand, and make your wife happy in your embrace; for this too is the lot of man."
@Peak Her name is Rhea. For the curious, she was 9lbs, 6oz at birth, and it's all in her length.
One more from the hospital! (Sorry for the size of these, they were taken by phone.)

The soul of Ashmond says, "Always with the sniping."
