Went down to NYC, got married, took a trip down to the Bahamas. Was hammered pretty much the whole time. Swam a lot. The picture is outside our balcony on the ship we were on when we were in the Bahamas. We skipped Great Stirrup Cay because they apparently had 15-20 foot swells and the tender boats couldn't come out. Women in the straw market in Nassau are super aggressive. We were in Florida for a day which I honestly liked more than Nassau. Trip back to NYC was okay but the last day the seas were terrible. I woke up around 2AM and we were only doing 6 knots with 11 foot waves. Docked in NYC almost three hours late. Florida was very nice because the weather was great and all the screaming kiddies got off and went to Disney. Spent the day in the pool with my wife. The view from our balcony was meh, but the sun was great. First picture is Nassau, second picture is Cape Caneveral.
You are making me so jealous that I won't be back in the US until August (still waiting for leave approval hopefully), or november at worst.
STOP IT!
it was an amazing week. Went by toooo fast. I didn't do much but eat a bunch of food and drink. I got sunburn today which is pretty amusing. Meeting up with @Halos was an absolute unexpected pleasure. He is just a delight. We went and ate burgers at this new brewery in town and drank some drinks. Wondered around a bit and then he walked me back to my hotel (in the ghetto). Very hospitable.
I know....I get to see the beach like once every 4 months. Living and working is very different from being on a holiday here. Throw a few beers in and it is amazing what a person can forget.
Now I just need to find an 800 pound black boar to befriend! (This was at an indoor owl 'forest' in Kyoto that we randomly came across in a market. My bar for markets has gone way up, and all markets that are owl-less will forever be lesser to me now.)
