    Looking at its paw/hand, I thought it might have been an actual demonic imp thing from hell.

    Which, considering some of the things I've heard of/seen pictures of that live in Australia, wouldn't surprise me in any way.

    No, I take it back, this thing is clearly some sort of hellspawn and there is a rift to the abyss somewhere down there they're coming in from.

    Flying foxes are bastards in our area. They make a lot of mess, smell bad and also attack the possums at night. They slam into your window really loudly and piss off with your fruit. Not the friendliest of marsupials. Not to mention they were partly to blame for the serious spread of the Hendra virus that killed a swathe of horses and a couple people. Good on you, snake.
