I've been toasting bread in my oven for like a year since my toaster died. Should really get around to replacing it already.
When I was living in a crummy apartment for a year last year, we weren't allowed toasters because they would set off the hard-wire fire alarms so easily.

So my way of having toast was getting some metal coat-hangers, bending them into a square grill and holding that over the gas stove. We didn't have ovens either. I'm surprised we didn't set the building on fire that way.

Losing their light in the glorious sun,
Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling,
Only remembered for what we have done."

  • Oh yeah rave, maybe, possibly.

The two days I was sick from work happened to also be the two days I was meant to get my final review with Head Management to pass my probation (six months up Feb 28). It didn't get re-scheduled. Apparently this is a good thing for my particular team as noone in my team ever had their review or got one rescheduled. This means either of two things:

    • My team is considered well enough to function without the need for such reviews. We're nicknamed the A-Team for a few reasons.
    OR
    • My team is still on probation, six years and counting, verging on probably being called parole now.

tl;dr I think I passed probation at work due to Management's laziness in rescheduling meetings.

Would take a gas stove over a toaster any day.

Did it for marshmallows too :) And fish...I had to be really careful with that one actually and lay al-foil underneath it.

  • Might not seem like much of a rave, but made onigiri for dinner. Forgot how delicious and simple they are. But... toddlers eating rice = messy. Still yummy though.
    meh

No! I'll never grow up! NEVER!! *goes back to watching Wreck-it Ralph*
    meh

  • I hear that's a good movie, worth watching?
  • my family enjoys it, it's pretty cute. I'm pretty amused by the nods to other video games (In graffiti: "Aerith Lives" "Jenkins" "All your base are belong to us"... and a bunch of others) But it's pretty good.
    meh

  • @Tvistor, I have this... with a four slice toaster! Double the toastiness!

It's bucketing down rain. It's deliciously cold. Today is going to be an awesome Monday!

My boyfriend is teaching me to kiteboard and today we went out to do a bit of practice of kite control before a storm rolled in. We've gone out and the wind's been pretty weak so he's powered up my kite to compensate and we're doing fiiiinnneeee ...Then the initial 'suck' of wind rolls over us and panic stations! I try to dive the kite into the ground so it doesn't get caught in the push  of the front but NOOOOooooo. Because I was diving the kite rather hurriedly the speed combines with the sudden gust of wind and I've gone skidding along the beach before going STRAIGHT UP and dropping the steering bar, then STRAIGHT DOWN as I've ditched the kite... and landed on my feet! There was much delirious laughter to be had.

I did, however, get blown over twice trying to carry the board back up the beach so my boyfriend had to loop back and carry it for me. :(

Haha, too true. this pack will last me at least two months
  • Two 6 am starts in a row. I am tired, on the wrong side of semi-coherent and in a state of complete temporal disorientation. I may have missed lecture, and my hands are shaking too much to type reasonably. (So far this had taken about three or four times how long it would normally take to write.)

This is the result of a rave.

I went home for the weekend, and coached at the KSE 6. Saw aalllll my friends again, shook hands with England's best-qualified karate referee, made lots of coffee, got lots of chicken and saw some damn good karate. Some rather poor karate too, but never mind that.

    Wooooo.

    I bought a toaster.

I found if I kinda leave the toastiness level at like 2 and a 1/2, it produces the perfect toast. It is totally crunchy and delicious but does not even have a speck of a burn on it, and it isn't plagued by some parts being softer than others, which is the usually the price of attempting to achieve this level of crunchiness.

    My life is complete.
No, your life will not be complete until you try said perfect toast with the perfect toast spread, and seeing as you are now part of Kangarooland, it will be very easy to obtain, Vegemite! A concentrated, yeast extract made from the left over fermentation of beer!

Oh, a rave?: Another week and another kilo lost. I actually bought clothes for the first time since starting Herbalife and I had to buy them 1 size smaller then I usually do.  YAY!
Janeway: Tuvok! *clapclap* Release my hounds!
    Krenim: Hounds? How cliche.

  • @Berenene If I lost a kilo, people would yell at me :(
  • @Valden: That's probably an indication that you need to gain some weight.
  • If I lost a kilo, I'd have 59 left.

    People probably wouldn't notice.

Yes, we would. If anything you could stand to gain 5kg.

  • @Valden My goal is to lose another 40 or so. You more then welcome to some of that if you like.

I like this kg measurement, I'm sure I'll feel smaller if I use it...

    TIME FOR MATHS!

101.151 kg. I like it! I feel smaller already.
  • @Katzchen, you're just jealous!
