“There is no greater sorrow than thinking back upon a happy time in misery--”

  • "Faded away like the stars in the morning,
Losing their light in the glorious sun,
Thus would we pass from this earth and its toiling,
Only remembered for what we have done."

Desperadoes Under the Eaves by Warren Zevon, because it's downright criminal that 90% of you know him for a novelty song about werewolves.

EDIT: Can't seem to get it to embed. When I quote other posts to see how they did it all I see is the URL to the video, but when I try that I get nothing. The copy/paste embed option from YouTube was also less than fruitful.
Copy the url and past as plain text.

  • Just realized today that deadmau5's "The Veldt" from last summer is a musical interpretation of Ray Bradbury's 1950 sci-fi piece "The Veldt", also published as "The World That The Children Made" (which anyone who knows the song will recognize). The video they did for the short/edited version of the song is really nice, with Limbo-style animation.

  • Also, if you're interested, here is Stephen Colbert reading the Veldt. http://americanchildhoods.com/2011/11/07/stephen-colbert-reads-the-veldt/

I give up, something just won't let me post this as a video. Heard it by chance on the radio and am now inexplicably addicted.

I'm on a blues kick, so here's something old school as well as something a little more recent. The common theme was unintended- but is, as Bob Ross would say, a happy little accident.

Pachanga Bros incredible song 'Time' remixed by Pete Tong, at Robot Heart's art vehicle at Burning Man 2012, at a dawn set out in the deep desert. Epic.

(Robot Heart is an organized theme camp at Burning Man, and their art vehicle is the rig you see playing music out in the middle of the desert at dawn.)

Also, if you want to see a truly amazing costume, skip to 4:23.

Melodic, uplifting electro breaks with a rolling acidic synth line and cheeky vocal sample, backed up with a low down acid-techno inspired breaks reworking from Champion Breaks - can't embed SoundCloud players :(
Hiroma tells you, "I just got to listen to someone complain about your deadly axekick being the bane of their existence."
Archdragon Mizik Corten, Herald of Ruin says, "Man, that was a big axk."
Hellrazor Cain de Soulis, Sartan's Hammer says, "Your [sic] a beast."
  • Hahahahaha, I'd never heard this before:

If you don't get what it's making fun of, you're either pretty young or just totally avoid this kind of music.
