    Bugged AF

People follow me, I follow @Xer. I meditate (can't follow while meditating), Xer moves and the people move with him one room.

Then I can go wherever (travel, move a different room), and they'll be tugged in with me, lel.

    @Makarios pls.

  • Decreasing tentacle balance to address RoF was kind of silly - it totally screwed over atavian flying vs. tentacle. Should have just increased balance time on use of RoF.

Eh. At avian flying is a racial trait. If it's easily counterable, it -should- be.

That was the point.  Atavian flying == RoF

    Report #132

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Submitted by: Exelethril     Status      : Approved

Skill       : Artefacts      Ability     : Ring of flying

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Problem:

The low balance cost associated with the Ring of Flying grants the user too much utility in singular

and group combat. At present, it's possible for someone to keep re-flying before the tentacle user

regains balance in time to perform another action.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Solution #1:

Increase the balance cost associated with the Ring of Flying by 0.5 to 1 second.

    Solution #2:

Decrease the balance cost of the tentacle tattoo by 0.5 to 1 second.

    Solution #3:

Disable usage if user has two broken arms.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Decision:

Approved for investigation into slightly speeding up the tentacle tattoo.

  • RoF also isn't the only problematic flying method.

Without flying, I would not fight occultists (as a monk, at least).  Tentacles + a nearly impossible to overcome affliction rate means a nearly certain death, without some form of fast travel or passive healing.

Sorry, not trying to start another crazy-ass debate.  Just throwing in that I think the tentacle tattoo upgrade was well thought out and was a fair upgrade for occultists, while still providing at least some semblance of balance (at least for classes with access to flying abilities, atavians, and RoF owners).

@Florentino Occultists also got a direct way to apply vertigo, which is a typically low-priority affliction - allowing them to easily prevent flying (or force priority away from enlightenment affs).

  • The problem with RoF is that it's so fast, that you're pretty much stuck tentacling non-stop, and your opponent can cure afflictions or recover health in the meantime, as you don't even have time to prep. Before this, tentacle was too slow, and RoF would escape on the second or third try. It's still pretty broken, moreso than Sandling ever was.

Good fight tonight, was a lot of fun (for me, even though I lost 35%!)

But at the same time that's all Atavian has advantage wise over other races, if it's equal to a 400 credit ring. then it should be equal to ring of flying to start with. (I think RoF is 400 might be 250 but anywho)

But then again all races we're balanced back before to not matter as much so my point may be void.

Atavian flying is far slower than RoF btw.

Dragons be buying RoF to speed up there fly as well. (Or was back when I was handing mine off to dragons to speed it up)
