Yeah. I lost two levels, lost 80. I didn't time out in the two hours I wasn't doing anything, even though my timeout is set to much less than that. I never got the 'you have 1 minute until you'll be logged out' message once. 

I think I'm done with Achaea for a while.

It doesn't work when you have a system, I imagine Svo is gagging some sort of trigger during that entire process that kept you from idling out. Seeing as everyone has a system these days, the whole "idle out if you don't do anything once you're dead" thing is pretty much a moot point from a bygone era. I honestly don't see any benefit at ALL for there to be a constant xp drain once you're dead. It's not like that experience is going to the person that killed you. Instead it simply represents a lot of bashing commitment of the player vanishing into the ether.

I got called away during an emergency once (had to drive someone to the hospital to get stitches when he cut himself with an X-acto knife). Ended up being afk troll PK'd in the same fashion and lost like 95% of level 100. My arguments fell on deaf ears at the time, but at least I know how you feel.

Could just make people auto-embrace after X minutes. I figured everyone had learned not to AFK after Yen got griefed by sleep deprivation.

(I think the reason that they don't give experience back is the reason I tried not to accept most OOC excuses as HL -- suddenly everyone AFKing at the Spire entrance was 'dealing with an emergency'.)

But, what's the value of people not staying as souls, Sena? They're harmless, and with the exception of people gemming to come back after infiltration (IE, like 5% of the population with gems), can't do anything. Needlessly harsh punishment.

This whole "never be afk, ever" argument is ridiculous. IRE is trying to mainstream their game to appeal to a broader MMO crowd and I can't think of a single other game (except for the RPIs I play, of course) where you can go afk and your losses when you get back can be in the realm of a month of hunting experience. Being afk is part of MMOs. It's only here where we deal with this enormously steep cost if things go wrong.

Edit: And thinking of it, I've never heard of anyone getting killed while afk in an RPI I've played. You generally have to participate to get yourself killed spectacularly there.
